great video, just wanna mention, the marauder is meant to be the first introduction to quickswitching. the moment you learn how to switch weapons better, he becomes infinitely easier to fight. even on console, just swapping between ssg and ballista is enough to take him out in a couple of cycles. even if you're not at mid range, the moment he shoots out the axe beam thing, he will rush you and do the green eye attack. i know this is from last year, but i just felt this might help someone whos having some trouble.

It's similar to 2016 where there's a basic story upfront, but something much bigger if you look around. I'd say Doom 2016 delivered it's upfront story much better, but reading all the codex stuff in Eternal just makes me love that games' overall story way more.
It always baffles me when I see people absolutely missing key elements of dialogue or lore bits and as such being unable to comprehend the story. The story in eternal felt straightforward, and while not the best thing ever, fairly simple and oldschool video gamey, just like practically everything else in this game.
"The suit upgrades are not that impactful" >0 upgrades on frost grenades Sir, have you heard of the health drops on attack on frozen enemies? That shit will get you from low health to up in no time when the fight gets real crowded.
I doubt now act man really played this game that well. He probably sped through it and thats why he said the story was bad and some upgrades were not impactful.
Yeah I'm calling bullshit on that. IF nothing else upgrades to my armor and health helped keep me alive, especially since I did go back to prior levels and surviving them was a cake walk and I was playing on Ultra Violence.
Oh, man, I wonder how The Act Man will talk about the Marauder, who's probably the best enemy in Doom Eternal right now. Given that he's an FPS god, I wonder what he thinks. The Act Man: The Marauder sucks. Me: *You were never one of us. You were nothing but a usurper. A false idol. My eyes have been opened. Let me help you to see, Act Man.*

@@DarkKosmic There's no evidence that if the Slayer had pulled VEGA out, that he would still be able to get to Earth. Why, exactly, are you choosing to argue over this, and over one detail?
Tbh, I never saw Doomguy as an edgy/brooding "rage golem." It just fit him to be a mostly polite, cheery, and friendly kind of person in my eyes, despite the absolutely monstrous amount of suffering he's endured. It's clear he's still a regular human man deep inside, with his skateboard, nunchucks, workshop, guitars, comic books, gaming computer... and Daisy.
Oh crap, ActMan look out! There’s a Hellknight behind you! Ah jeez, hes listening to DOOM Eternal’s soundtracks with the new Raycon E25 earbuds and can’t hear us! Curse you Raycon!
I found the ammo restrictions really rewarding. Having to balance health, armour and ammo forces you to be careful which demons you kill when and how you do it, and by the time I got to the end of the game I really felt like I’d mastered it and it just felt so good
So completely opposite to the actual flow of all the other Doom games, where you tend to choose a weapon and stick with it until you're low on ammo and you just shoot things until everything is dead.
@@hariman7727 False. Doom series always had resource management. The difference in the new games is that you can gain resources from killing enemies. In the old games it was purely based on replenishing resources from exploration and secrets. While the ammo cap is much larger in the old games it doesn't really mean much when the pickup locations are quite scarce around the levels. Guns also did way less damage, you fought more enemies per level and enemies were much tanker. I was regularly low on ammo in many moments using whatever I had to kill enemies playing Doom 2 on Ultra-violence.
@@hailbane9633 even with that being true, that changes the entire dynamic of the game and Doom 2 locks you into the shoot chainsaw shoot chainsaw cycle instead of letting people find their own pace. It's the difference between devil May Cry games and final fantasy X in combat. Devil May Cry games give you a bunch of cool moves and you can string them together as you want. Final fantasy X you're locked into swap again specific party members because they are the only one that can handle certain enemies.
@@hariman7727 Yea and Call of Duty forces you to shoot, move, reload and hide behind cover. How is this even an argument? Every video game on earth locks you into its core fundamental mechanics in order to beat it. In Doom 1 and Doom 2 you are forced to move, shoot and explore for resources to replenish them. Eternal literally just inherits the previous games loop of gaining resources from the enemy & playing aggressively and expands on it. You didn't seem to have issues with shoot glory kill for health shoot loop in the previous game. Eternal literally plays like Devil May Cry fps and was an inspiration for the combat according to Hugo Martin. You are given bunch of weapons and tools and you figure out interesting combos. Both games on harder difficulties require mastery to beat it.
@@banes4908 and you completely missed the point of my comment. The way the devs want me to play Doom eternal sucks cloaca in my book, so Doom 2016 does not have a sequel.

@@Whyyin Yeah presentation is super important. Lore can be deep without it being presented like a textbook, and the story could've been told better (it doesn't need to show everything in the codexes, just enough so it's at least somewhat good)
I’m gonna be honest man of acting, this is my first time I’ve disagreed with you. 1: Personally I feel the marauder enforces speed and staying on the move more than anything. Getting quick chainsaws and glory kills after stunning him. Keeping distance with dodges. Quickly taking advantage of his attacks. Not shooting his shield so the dog won’t come out. It’s like a quick dance. 2: The parts you called cringey I found SICK. The part where the DoomSlayer talks felt awesome because it not only connected him to the universe but just was a huge revelation and he just sounded sick. 3: The lack of ammo really in my opinion made you better at the game. It was way more fun to be constantly switching between guns, something that most players didn’t do in 2016. 4: The story was great. I’m not even a hardcore fan. In fact I’ve only played 2016 and Eternal. I loved the characters. The betrayer showing up was great. Especially because it really starts off the DoomSlayer’s origin by shutting a theory down. The Khan Makyr was a fun villain, design wise and character wise. Does she have a lot of depth, no, but she did enough in my opinion. In general i might’ve disagreed with you but I watched the whole thing because I love your videos and your personality. I also agreed with you gameplay wise as well.
I agree with you almost completely, I do think the story is shit on par with a Wattpad/SCP fan fiction of Doom with MAJOR inconsistency, specifically for King Novik and his opinion on you fighting or not. But otherwise I completely agree with you.
Nooby Dooby, i would recommend that you play brutal doom with berserk (IDBEHOLDS keyboard cheat code) if you want to fill entire rooms with blood. Note: Brutal Doom is a fangame and an overhaul of doom 2, to get the full experience i would recommend playing it with Maps of Chaos and use GZDoom to run it. Just select both wads and drag it into GZDoom.
I agree with you except for the cringey dialogue. I honestly started laughing when Doom guy spoke because the writing and delivery of his dialogue was atrocious. His voice sounded like some low testosterone nerd in a studio trying to put on a tough guy voice.
16:33 that's... the point of the game. You're supposed to be switching weapons instead of relying on the SSG all the time. That's how weapon combos work. 16:56 that's why you have the chainsaw, and that refuels every 10 seconds 17:29 you wouldn't see that if you implemented the chainsaw into your gameplay to resupply ammo. The chainsaw isn't there so you can blow through all your ammo and restock. You use it at around half ammo to keep the gameplay going, and you'll never run out of ammo 17:55 you should be swapping weapons for LESS than every 5 seconds. It's in the loading screen tutorials that it's a part of the combat loop. And you SHOULD be using the chainsaw every minute or so because that's it's purpose. Then again, this review was made a little after release, so I can understand that the gameplay wasn't fully understood
They already have reason to switch weapons baked into the game in the fact that different enemies are weak to different weapons. They didn't need to force your hand to change weapons so regularly by having the ammo count so low. That's why it's annoying. I'd rather choose to switch weapons regularly due to tactical decision making than because I have low ammo so frequently.
@@L3monsta You shouldn't have low ammo so frequently. The fully upgraded ammo cap was pretty reasonable for the most part. Only are rockets low in ammo capacity with 13. 180 machine rounds and 250 plasma rounds is plenty. 24 shotgun is little low but still reasonable. Previous game gave out too much ammo especially supershotgun rounds.
I got to be honest, this sounds like really ass gameplay. Don't force me into your combat loop where I have to change weapons constantly and the chainsaw is required because the developers can't balance the ammo count or enemies anymore. They never made a sequel to Doom. They made their own game with doom trappings, and jumping puzzles to drag it out for more than 2 hours.
The story is actually pretty interesting when you read into it. It may seem forgettable but trust me, the story *enhances* the experience. Like seriously, it even makes the music in the game even better. For example, the track "Gladiator Boss." It sounds cool on it's own, right? Well, after reading into the story you will come to find out that the chants are of fallen sentinel soldiers, your former brethren, cheering you on telling you to kill everything in sight. The Slayer, having chosen to stay in hell in Doom 64, finds his way to sentinel prime. When he arrives, he is a 'worn warrior'. Him yelling about the demons isn't bad writing, it's the ravings of a man who's almost gone mad from all the fighting. When Doomguy was first brought into the Gladiator arena to prove himself to be worthy to join the Sentinel army, he would beat the shit out of everyone participating while yelling "Rip and Tear." The sentinels (who spoke their own language) had no idea what he was saying, but the few who did speak English (like the priests and some guards) translated it to their language as "Kar En Tuk" and that became their battle cry. This makes the part when you arrive on sentinel prime even cooler when all of the Soldiers greet you with a resounding "RIP AND TEAR!" this is only a portion of the cool story writing. (Another example being how Samuel Hayden is most likely the Seraphim) The story only seems forgettable because you actually have to look for the story to really get it, the campaign only shows you the bare bones of what's happening.
that's the only part im confused about. i love the story, but how did the priests and some guards know english, when, to them, its a completely alien language?
Snavels i get that, but do you think that just because they’re a higher rank that they somehow know a language they have never heard? I would understand kahn makyr understanding it, but even that is a stretch.
26:15 Actually he doesn't punching the droid only adds to Doom guy's character, he punched the droids in 2016 because they were UAC's droids, in eternal if you look close you can see "Vega" written on it, and Doom Guy likes Vega, is like one of his friends, it's basicly's doom guy's jarvis That's attention to detail
I know it was someone else who opened the portal but here: Hayden: I am not the villain in this story *Opens a portal to hell on Earth causing a invasion*
I just finished this game today, and tbh, I thought it was an amazing experience. I like DOOM 2016's visuals, boxart, demon designs, and overall arstyle a lot better, but this game's environments, story, and gameplay better. I changed my skin a lot, but for the most part, especially in the end game, I found myself rocking the 2016 Praetor suit, because that one's my favorite. I really enjoyed the final boss. I thought it was really satisfying to see his armor then body fall apart over time. My only complaint about the final boss was that it felt a little too long, but maybe that's just my fault. Overall, I thought it was an amazing game, and would highly recommend this, especially to FPS fans.
Especially since in order to actually do damage I was constantly relying on the super weapons and finding the ammo possessed was a chore at times Especially since for some reason you only get 2 shots for the BFG at full ammo

I think the ammo count was designed to be the way it is to balance ultra violence difficulty. Rather than turn the enemy into meat shields or the tile to kill you into something like Halo 2 legendary, you are constantly forced to search the map for every little bit of fuel for your chainsaw and scrap of ammo you can pick up.

So I'm one of the few, who actually enjoyed Doom: Eternal story and setting? It's not that rich by itself, but perfectly fits badass doomslayer who just remains silent all the time and only cares about ripping and tear. It's epic enough, gives interesting background to all loctions, leads you through the levels and doesn't distract you. So I think it's just enough of it.
Yeah, for a Doom game, i would say the story that is presented to us, already serves its purpose. Demons doing demon shenanigans and then invading other realms, you go to investigate, you kill demons, you uncover more about Hell and its power and Gods being corrupted by said power, etc. For a DOOM game, the story is good. Overexplaining shit tends to ruin the fun. IDsoftware went with the direction of visual storytelling with all the environments like for example bodies of huge, towering demons and destroyed mechs lying around the levels give us an illusion that Earth's military forces actually tried their best to fight back the demons and shit like that.
Yeah the story was treated like how Carmack or Romero treated story in Doom and Quake. Like story in porn, except this time the sex is exactly what you like and the story is one of those scripts that win awards. They're separate experiences that are also connected enough to make sense.
I enjoyed the story and setting, too. It's pretty cool. Honestly don't know what people were expecting. It's a *Doom game.* We aren't here for the story, we're here to chew gum and kick demon ass, and we're all out of gum.
To be fair. In ID Software's defense with the Marauder. They said that ''When he is on the field. You no longer control the fight. He does.'' Thank you all for all the likes! Really appreciate it. Stay home, stay safe!
I agree with that mentality since it makes you feel that the Marauder somehow has a semblance of being a worthy challenge as he represents a sort of an equal to you.
I mean he is ofc you but as a demon. I mean imagine how the demons feel after getting shotgun blasted, killed in long range the marauder is supposed to be an equal but in the end you'll come up top
The Marauder's good but they could have at least made him less of an annoyance either by removing the shield or the Hell wolves he spawns in. Shield Marauder = Tactical gameplay Hell Wolf Marauder = Keeps you moving and on the defensive to avoid being attacked by the Hell Wolf Current Marauder = Just a pure annoyance.
@@ghostalpha2886 don't shoot the shield and don't kite him into enemies that can shoot his shield. No puppies will spawn. Another big brain move you can allow yourself - shoot the dog. Its not annoying, its just that unlike the rest of the enemies, he has enough brains to not run at you without any defense. Get good, alpha lmao
I actually disagreed with a lot of his statements. The first one was about how he said, "forgettable, characters are forgettable, dialogue is forgettable and the plot is forgettable". In my "opinion" Bethesda made a memorable story on how the Doomslayer is fighting through the forces of hell to stop the Priests and the Khan Maykr from destroying Earth. Also, the betrayer is not forgettable he's a badass with a cool big hammer.
The story isn't neccesarily meant to be memorable and/or thrilling, it's just there to string the action sequences together. And that's not a bad thing, the gameplay is where the Doom games have always shone the brightest.
Never had a problem with ammo honestly, switching weapons constantly is how i've always played doom. It feels really weird when i use one gun for more than 30 seconds.

Definitely. More games in general should follow this kind of storytelling if you ask me. It's the same way Dark Souls handles story. It's all there if you want it, but it's never the focus. Gameplay comes first and the story is up to the player to decide if they want to piece it together. Obviously some games are meant to feel cinematic like Halo or Gears of War but a lot of games could really benefit from a more Souls-like approaching to storytelling like Doom Eternal took

Doom Eternal's story:explains how the Slayer meets the Knight Sentinels, how he got his powers, and turned into a hero. "Forgettable " Still a great video though.
I think the problem some people have with it is a lot of the detail is in the codex pages. As someone who only played 2016, I understand mostly what has happened to Doomguy from 1-Eternal now just from those codexes. Yeah show don't tell is usually better, but it's already a 20 hour campaign on average and adding in more cutscenes to show all of the codex pages probably would've bumped it up way higher. For what it is, it's perfect. Not forgettable. The reveal that the Doom Slayer is Doomguy was the point in the game where I decided the story was great. In fact, Sentinel Prime in general became my favourite just for the quiet walk of collecting pages, explaining a lot of backstory before a top-tier boss battle.
P.S, it is also sometimes better to leave things for the player to imagine with written stories, than show them it flat out. The Human imagination often produces a lot more fun and wild things from just words than a lot of people can visually create.
Yeah those parts were cool but everything else just felt like wasted potential. I think the best example Act Man pointed out was how Samuel Hayden was just now a background noise instead of the anti-villain he was at the end of DOOM 2016, so utterly wasted.
Also it explains that doom guy goes through all of doom 1 2 and 64 then during 64 gets slipgated and was utterly driven insane, worked with argent dnur who helped temper his hate and bring him more control in life after losing so much that he literally has the foot of his deceased rabbit daisy not for luck but for literally the loss of innocence in his life no sexual puns please. Also how through this he unknowingly caused the very paradigm of heaven and hell to literally form around the way of the use of man's soul to avoid the effects of transmogrification in the makyr kahn which is essentially alzheimers for angels, though they are false gods and thus doomguy killing kahn makyr and re establishing vega in urdak is insanely important as samuel hayden basically pulled a massive game of celestial hang man's gambit bye betraying them to save mankind but nobody is talking about that shit. Dude is literally a makyr faking being a human who stuck his brain in a robot to dodge horrific brain cancer in the toxic after math of the uac also Slipgates are now cannon in doom. If you have no clue how scary that shit is, look up Ranger's story in quake champions, dude killed an eldergod and went fucking nuts tossing the dire orb around making him even fucking crazier.
I feel that the campaign was amazing. It is in my belief that the gameplay should be second to none. Nothing should take away the experience of Ripping and Tearing through the battlefield. The story in my opinion should be relegated to the Codex if you really want lore, and can I just say the lore is crafted to perfection. We now know the Doom Slayer is the Doom Guy and not the Betrayer. The Codex offers insight to the Doom Slayer 's past and how he became the most feared and respect being in the universe.
Because I'm a Night Sentinel and also a very powerful demon. It's like combining a tank, small warship, and alien technology. I'm not going down easily.
I really liked the story. Cutscenes were cool, exposition was fine (and cool), and I loved reading the codex. I think that the story enriched eternal, seeing all these cosmic entities fear him and try to reason with him, and knowing why, is badass. Thats why the game'a 10/10 for me
disgusting weeb yea I agree. They included cutscenes and left out extra, expository information because, fuck it, you don’t need that. You’ve got the leader of the most advanced, ancient alien race pleading for you to turn around and give up because of how scared of you she is. Doomguy/Doomslayer? He’s a badass, and he’s going to show you hes a badass, and anyone who doubts you? Time to prove those assholes wrong. The story is designed to complement your power fantasy, and anything more would distract you from the fact that you’re a badass who’s here to kill everything in your way. Also, once you get good at understanding distancing with the marauder, you can learn how to blow 2 holes in face and go kill something else, repeat. The games flow is dictated by how you approach your enemies. You don’t fear them, they fear you. Play that way, while playing smart, and you will dominate EVERYTHING.

You gotta read the lore writings presented in the game. It's actually fully developed and very creative. Doesnt dump story on you if you're in it for the action, but if you're in it for the story as well then it's got that too.
Yeah, the story doesn't need to be dumped on you during the game because the Slayer WAS THERE, he knows what's going on. They pretty much gave us the basics of the story during gameplay, and if you want to know more, you check the codex; and I love that.
The beggining of the game was really odd, even a bit bad storywise. Like "wtf am i doing here, what happened there, whats going on, whats those priests" It is explained later, yes, but its just a mess
I gotta disagree with you on the story here my guy, I honestly love it. I find this story so compelling and interesting but it’d told in such a way where it’s not up in your face, it’s told through short cutscenes (which you can obviously skip) through dialogue or the environment which won’t interrupt the flow of the game or through in depth codex’s which are optional.
I also found the story to be good as well. While it is arguable the story was delivered better in 2016, I never felt like there wasn't enough story in Doom Eternal. Much like the last game, it felt like just enough to make the universe look that much more grand while you're busy adding to your body count. And the codex entries on the Sentinels revealed far more than I expected, especially on the mutha-effin' Doomguy! That revelation made him even more of a badass, which made me smile in 'rip and tear'. Also, really Act Man? No memorable lines? "You can't just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars."

Bruh the story in Eternal is just so much better. 2016 explained argent energy and a bit about the demon hierarchy. Eternal has the Sentinels, Maykrs, how the whole universe came to be, the Slayer's story and so much more. As for the main plot 2016 was like: Argent energy bad, go to hell close portal oh no woman opened a new one go close it, while Eternal was: universe in danger, kill priests to stop invasion then kill God (not even counting the dlcs).
I mean, I guess it's like an alarm that the nuke their testing is going off. Sure, it's theirs, and they _should_ be safe, but it's good to know to be prepared
"that's what bethesda and Id software set out to do" Fyi, bethesda had literally nothing to do with this game. They only published it. id developed it. Seeing people give credit to bethesda for this masterpiece bothers me. EDIT: Bethesda did not fund this game either. Zenimax did.
Mandick The Titty Smithy Yeah that’s what I was just about to say, there literally wouldn’t be a doom 2016 or doom eternal without them so like it or not to help to come in to fruition
Bethesda even tried to screw up the game with the entire DRM Denuvo fiasco and is still trying to damage my experience with their shitty "can't connect to Bethesda net" servers.
I was actually really into the story, I thought it was really good, the idea that hell is a dimension that invades other dimensions in order to gain more hell "essence", and the sentinels and the Khan makyr are awesome
I loved the story. You have to read the codex entries to understand what they're saying. Like for example when they say "welcome Seraphim" and VEGA when he says "I see now, I am the father" because Samuel Hayden is the Seraphim that stole the father entity which is VEGA that's why Hayden knows so much about the Slayer.
Yeah. I didn't find anything forgettable. There are a bunch of neat characters like Valen, who's still clinging to the teachings of the Maykrs in what looks like an effort to lessen some of the overwhelming guilt he feels, and that fanboy in ARC HQ who's the only human to *not* shit himself on seeing the Slayer. To me, the story is awesome. There are all sorts of little subtle bits and hints. For instance, that one door on Urdak welcoming the Slayer as 'seraphim' and VEGA's hesitance when first mentioning Samuel Hayden, as if bracing himself for the Doom Slayer's reaction. Honestly, I think the last half has fewer cutscenes because the pace is picking up. Sure, Hayden dumps exposition a lot, but that's very much in character for him.
I actually like the marauder and I think he works really good In group fights, he puts pressure on the player and is like a objective. An enemy constantly harassing you while your trying to kill other demons. If you take him out first(which isn’t hard once you know how to use combos) he functions different to every other demon by design. He’s meant to make you panic and like I said earlier it’s like a secondary objective Also the complaint that you have to switch weapons every 5 seconds is completely how the game was made, it was made to be a loop or as people like to call it, the doom dance.
@@radiumdragon5592 actually, the major filesize reduction came from the very in-depth decal system which Eternal uses, which recycles and combines textures very efficiently.
wait, Doom three was connected? I thought Doom Slayer was in hell (where the slayer's testiment starts) during doom three, and doom 2016 was just his return to a different Earth, why it's always refered to as "your people" and also the people of Earth are refered to as just that, and I'd like to see more sides and thoughts on this.
@@kevinmayfield6182 thats what im asking i looked it up and see alot of people saying that doom 3 takes place during doom 1 with the mars base being attacked too and the other doom 3 marine (who is not the slayer) is the only survivor. I cant find any source of this tho...
I got them all and studied that shit like a religion 😂...the lore is actually really deep IF you want to learn about it...but for those who just want to play that's cool too
It:s funny. If you watch Markiplier's playthrough, he stops in the middle of the level to read every codex he finds, and then complains that the story is getting in the way of the gameplay. Like... You realize you have the Fortress of Doom if you want to sit and read the codex?
Doom 2016 still did a fine job of quality, not quantity, cutscenes. They told you just enough that you know what’s going on, and codex entries were just deeper lore. In eternal some cutscenes require you to read up to make sense at all

I’m gonna be honest man of acting, this is my first time I’ve disagreed with you.

16:56 that's why you have the chainsaw, and that refuels every 10 seconds
17:29 you wouldn't see that if you implemented the chainsaw into your gameplay to resupply ammo. The chainsaw isn't there so you can blow through all your ammo and restock. You use it at around half ammo to keep the gameplay going, and you'll never run out of ammo
17:55 you should be swapping weapons for LESS than every 5 seconds. It's in the loading screen tutorials that it's a part of the combat loop. And you SHOULD be using the chainsaw every minute or so because that's it's purpose.
Then again, this review was made a little after release, so I can understand that the gameplay wasn't fully understood
Yeah, he made this very early on, and I don't think he fully understood the new "meta" if you can call it that.
When Doomguy was first brought into the Gladiator arena to prove himself to be worthy to join the Sentinel army, he would beat the shit out of everyone participating while yelling "Rip and Tear."
The sentinels (who spoke their own language) had no idea what he was saying, but the few who did speak English (like the priests and some guards) translated it to their language as "Kar En Tuk" and that became their battle cry. This makes the part when you arrive on sentinel prime even cooler when all of the Soldiers greet you with a resounding "RIP AND TEAR!" this is only a portion of the cool story writing. (Another example being how Samuel Hayden is most likely the Seraphim)
The story only seems forgettable because you actually have to look for the story to really get it, the campaign only shows you the bare bones of what's happening.
that's the only part im confused about. i love the story, but how did the priests and some guards know english, when, to them, its a completely alien language?

Too much lore. It was of if they kept it simple.

Shield Marauder = Tactical gameplay
Hell Wolf Marauder = Keeps you moving and on the defensive to avoid being attacked by the Hell Wolf
Current Marauder = Just a pure annoyance.

@@hallowseve5801 Samuel was never a villain in 2016, he was a good guy that took risks. Doomguy otherwise would have killed him.

"that's what bethesda and Id software set out to do"
Fyi, bethesda had literally nothing to do with this game. They only published it. id developed it. Seeing people give credit to bethesda for this masterpiece bothers me.
EDIT: Bethesda did not fund this game either. Zenimax did.
Bethesda funded it.
Mandick The Titty Smithy Yeah that’s what I was just about to say, there literally wouldn’t be a doom 2016 or doom eternal without them so like it or not to help to come in to fruition
They own the IP
Bethesda even tried to screw up the game with the entire DRM Denuvo fiasco and is still trying to damage my experience with their shitty "can't connect to Bethesda net" servers.
@@mandickthetittysmithy5117 No they didn't. Zenimax funded it. Don't give ANY credit to bethesda because they literally did nothing.
The point of the marauder is to force you to focus him first and he only summons the wolf when you shoot his shield (and that you do a LOT ngl)
I take out every other demon so I can focus on him and only him
I wonder what the Elon Musk of the Doom universe thought when Mars got destroyed.
I cant believe you have so few likes
"Aw dammit, my mansion was up there"
Isn't he basically Samuel Hayden anyway
@@DilapidatedCat No, Hayden is not the Elon Musk of the DOOM Universe. I'd explain why but the explanation is very spoiler heavy.
@@Deadsnake989 if you would tell this spoiler about samuel,is it gonna spoil doom eternal or doom from 2016?

I was actually really into the story, I thought it was really good, the idea that hell is a dimension that invades other dimensions in order to gain more hell "essence", and the sentinels and the Khan makyr are awesome
Unless you beat it in 25 minutes
I loved the story. You have to read the codex entries to understand what they're saying. Like for example when they say "welcome Seraphim" and VEGA when he says "I see now, I am the father" because Samuel Hayden is the Seraphim that stole the father entity which is VEGA that's why Hayden knows so much about the Slayer.
@@dimitrijepesic2607 I love these story in 2016 and 2020
@@brigidtheirish fr this game is perfect
I actually like the marauder and I think he works really good In group fights, he puts pressure on the player and is like a objective. An enemy constantly harassing you while your trying to kill other demons. If you take him out first(which isn’t hard once you know how to use combos) he functions different to every other demon by design. He’s meant to make you panic and like I said earlier it’s like a secondary objective
Also the complaint that you have to switch weapons every 5 seconds is completely how the game was made, it was made to be a loop or as people like to call it, the doom dance.

@@tales9476 I'm guessing Snap Map took a large portion of the required space. Certainly doesn't look like textures were downgraded.
@@radiumdragon5592 actually, the major filesize reduction came from the very in-depth decal system which Eternal uses, which recycles and combines textures very efficiently.
MISTER PHAETON both
What made it EVEN MORE AWESOME was how they connected the older games to this one, even D00M 64 (which I thought would be impossible)
wait, Doom three was connected? I thought Doom Slayer was in hell (where the slayer's testiment starts) during doom three, and doom 2016 was just his return to a different Earth, why it's always refered to as "your people" and also the people of Earth are refered to as just that, and I'd like to see more sides and thoughts on this.
Doom 3 was connected?!?!
Commander Rex328 wait how was Doom 3 connected did I miss some codex or something. And no the Doom 3 easter eggs don’t count its gotta be lore.
Bi0hazard Doom 3 isn’t connected, or if it is id hasn’t said that it is, maybe the upcoming DLC will connect them?
@@kevinmayfield6182 thats what im asking i looked it up and see alot of people saying that doom 3 takes place during doom 1 with the mars base being attacked too and the other doom 3 marine (who is not the slayer) is the only survivor. I cant find any source of this tho...
The story isnt told thru cutscenes; its told thru the "codex" pages you find in the levels
In eternal some cutscenes require you to read up to make sense at all
isn't the codex lore not story
@@isaacromo869 codex is lore plus story info
my oinly complaint is that i wish the multiplayer mode had regular gameplay modes instead of the one we have in eternal
