thank you for this ! been a met fan since 1963 , ed was =MR, MET to us, and gave everything to the mets team and community . rest in peace ED,, his jersey needed to be retired years ago ...
Totally agree with Ron when he said Ed was “Mr. Met.” RIP.
Yet another piece of my youth is gone. The first Mets game I ever went to was a Wednesday afternoon game against the Houston Astros in 1972. The Mets lost, as Jerry Koosman didn't have it that day, but the one highlight for the Mets was an Ed Kranepool home run. He was by no means a great player, but he always conducted himself with class and dignity, and was the quintessential New Yorker. God rest his soul.
I 65 year and see like yesterday he plays miss you Eddie ❤❤ RIP
Ed and Wayne Garrett talked to me as a little boy on the Diamond Club elevator. Great memory.
My condolences to you Ron, and RIP to Ed Kranepool.
Met him at a charity softball game. He couldn’t have been nicer.
I hope Ed finally returned Chico Escuela's soap.
Retire his number, he deserves it.
