1969 World Series Winner and certainly one of the greatest Mets ever.
-R.I.P. Ed Kranepool
-God Bless You
R.I.P to another Mets legend Ed Kranepool 🙏
Dude was no joke, I heard him tell a story online of him fighting Tom Foli. Kranepool was no joke and tough!
He hated Sign man Karl Ehrharft during his playing career. But I heard later they became friends
Thanks for all the memories. RIP Mr. Kranepool.
RIP number 7! A true Met!
My FAVORITE as a kid . Met him at a cardshow in 80 ❤❤🙏RIP
He tells awesome stories. He seemed a tough, old school player, who didn't take crap!
The first Baseball player I ever met. A NY Mets treasure and legend R.I.P. Ed Kranepool
RIP Ed. One of the original Mets.
Actually not
@jimwerther True but he did play for the 1962, Mets in September

Yup
RIP Ed Kranepool
Don La Greca's rant will always live on
I remember when Ed Kranepool, John Milner, and some other Mets came to our high school in NJ during the off-season to play basketball against the faculty. Turns out they were great basketball players too! It was very exciting as a kid to see these Mets up close and personal in a setting like that.
Great memories of Ed getting game winning hits in the 70s and then appearing on Kiner’s Kormer. You will be missed, RIP Ed
I grew up watching Eddy playing 1st. Kranepool was true orange and blue. Born, raised, drafted, and played his entire career in NY. RIP #7 and lets pray for another Miracle Met season!
Met him as a kid and would see him at BJ’s wholesale in Westbury, NY every so often. Very kind, would give anyone the time of day and was always willing to chat. RIP to Mr.Kranepool, a good ball player and a very nice person
I was a Sox fan growing up in the ‘70s but I lived in CT and one of my friends was a big Mets fan. The Mets were my national league team. RIP, Ed.
R.I.P. Ed. You're a legend.
grew up on long island in the 60's with the amazin' mets ,, listened to every game on am radio , and went to shea when we could ,ed kranepool was a man we all looked up to ..thank you ed for everything you did for us ,on and off the field . , rest in peace
He used to live right down the block from me...R.I.P
Legendary Met and a very nice man.
Eazy Ed. I had a Kranepool bat, and remember going to the games at Shea
Got my parents to take me to his and Swoboda's restaurant The Dugout a couple of times. Met him at the stadium a couple of times and talked with him about that. He said that made him feel old! #7 needs to be a patch on uniforms next season. Thanks for the memories...RIP.
Listening to pregame show and it was just announced that the Mets will wear commemorative patch next season. Thank you to the Mets for recognizing Ed's history with/for the team!💙🧡
_'Svoboda'_ 😉
Great memories of Ed kranepool he took a back seat to don clendenon in 69 but good pinch hitter that year.He had a good batting stance and great swing
Great team player.
Only played for
the Mets!
_____
I met Willie Mays in
1978 and
Ed Kranepool
was with Mr Mays.
_____
Loved him as a kid sad to hear he passed this year along with 69 heros Grote Harrelson Mc Andrew he just had a unique lumbering presence an All Star!
One of my childhood heroes R.I.P. Ed. He still holds the highest pinch hit average of .486 in a single season from 1974 (He when 17 for 35)
The greatest Met of all time Ed Bleeping Kranepool
Very sad,😢. A Met for life. Not many can say that these days of players being traded or opting for other reasons. Thank you, SNY, for showing this.
such an important part of Mets history. great role player and contributor in all of his seasons. never to be forgotten. 🗽
RIP. Grew up watching Eddie and loved #7
A great man and a Met star!
Adding mine RIP steady Eddie😢👍
Thanks you Eddie God 🙏 you ❤❤❤
He was a legend
RIP Ed Kranepool!!
"Ed Kranepool borrow Chico's soap, never give it back" -Chico Esquela in 'Bad Stuff 'bout the Mets'
RIP ED
Most underrated Met and probably the most underrated player in the League. The quintessential Amazin Met.
Sad day in Mets history - always humble and supportive of the Mets organization - loyal. Tough loss - Seaver, Harrelson and now Ed Kranepool. BTW, at 1:20, is that Rusty Staub playing for the Colt 45's?
R.I.P.........🕯️......... 🕊️ #7 ED KRANEPOOL 💙🧡🌟
James Earl Jones (voice of Darth Vader) has died, today, as well
Thank you for the info. Loved the both of them
You will be missed Ed❤
Did he ever give Chico Escuela his soap back? RIP, Ed.
Well done.
Rest in peace, Ed.
Bummer 😥😥😥😥😥😥 Saw him play
Thanks Ed
Great video
R.I.P.
RIP, Steady Eddie!
RIP Mr. Kranepool
Great - a true New Yoikuh...
RIP Ed.
God Bless #7
I hope they retired his number , just on his long career with the same team . Original MET, fan favorite and good guy.
RIP
The real Mr Met Ed Kranepool
Also back 50 plus years ago the Met front office never respected their players and treated them like dirt, perfect Example the late HOFER Tom Seaver
But in 1970,They took the longest tenured Met,Ed Kranepool and optined him to Tidewater, because he was underperforming
Ed Kranepool a class act till the day he passed
Even though the back of his baseball card doesn't show it,The greatest Met of all time not statistically
But what he embodied on and off the field and when he would come to Citi Field,he would always take time to give an interview to Steve Gelbs or Kevin Burkhardt,RIP Mr Kranepool, you will be missed!
Maybe it's time between Ed Kranepool and Jose Reyes that the Mets jointly retire number 7
Steady Eddy RIP
RIP 😢
And so now,The Mets need to take the Memories of the 3 members of the 1969 WSC that passed
Buddy Harrelson,Jerry Grote, and Ed Kranepool also members of the 73 team plus Willie Mays on that 73 team.Use at as fuel to nake the post season and go deep into the post seson and deliver the first WSC In nearly 40 years!
Dam, he seemed like a hard nosed, tough player. I heard him tell a story online about him punching out Tom Foli. I guess Foli had a habit of touching people. Kranepool and Foli got into an argument. Kranepool was explaining that where he can from, you just don't touch people. Foli kept touching him, and Kranepool decked him. Kranepool was NO JOKE, man.
Tim Foli was insanely intense
R.I.P Crane !!
I met him in 67 or 68.
Eddie was a league average player.
And that's a compliment.
It means he was solid and productive, but not a big star.
Had he been on a team with more dominating hitting, his good glove at first and home run power would have been a better fit.
Even better if he'd been in the American League, where DH would have been an option for him.
But the Mets were always desperately looking to beef up their offense, thus Eddie was relegated to a part time, late innings replacement, and pinch hitting role.
Not a DH at all
Glad to have met& played basket ball against him when the mets & yankees had a traveling team during the winter. RonVirgilio
😢
The KRANE
Went yard against Birds in Game 3.
I only hear Dom Lagreca.
RIP.
Ha.
RIP
Can we do a welfare check on Don La Greca?
The Mets should retire his number.
Please retire Ed Kranepool's number 7.
No one better than Howie
Always WAS a LINE drive hitter
RIP Eddie
