In the playoffs Bobrovsky is 4th in GAA and 6th in save %. Hardly dominant. The alternative on Florida is Barkov; a tough sell when he is 17 points behind the leader and in 4th place overall with a plus 2 differential. This of course is moot if the Oilers come back. Only 5 players from the losing team have ever won the Conn Smythe and 4 of them were goalies. Either way it would be hard to dismiss McDavid.
People saying Bob is a lock for Conn Smythe I feel like haven't watched Florida the entire playoffs. Bob was good, not great the first two rounds, did make some big saves but he was nothing amazing. Wasn't until round 3 he started to stand on his head. Barkov has been playing top tier almost every game of the playoffs for Florida. But typical Conn Smythe voting is best of the finals/bit of the 3rd round, not actually best player of the ENTIRE playoffs
If it was whole playoffs, we'd see more players from losing teams win it. For example McDavid or Drai could have won one by now despite not reaching the finals. Their point totals were/are crazy!
McD could be the first guy to win it on a losing team since Giguere in '03.
@@Taubogason.40 nah, if McDavid had more than 6 goals then maybe he would be considered in a loss
Bob has a save percentage of only 90,9%
Well Barkov is +0 with 21 points, Bouchard is +12 with 32 points...and he's a defenceman.
Following the Start Bench Cut question. It would be pretty cool to see another video like that in the future. It feels like it's been a while, so it would be interesting to see what type of scenarios some people could make.
I don't think the series is 3-1 if Bobrovsky didn't have a couple stellar performances, so I'd say he's still in the running for MVP
Your channel is about to spike up sooooo much with these daily videos keep it up my man thanks for entertaining us every day 👏 👍
For Arizona/Utah it’s actually Lawson Crouse who is their longest tenured player
You have no idea how much this hurts me as a panthers fan. I loved Crouse when he played for us 😢
I did feel a bit special having my question answered lol
The thing I wanna see the most though for Game 5 tomorrow is an overtime game. PLEASE let that happen.
Thanks for including mine
McDavid for me. Broke a record, 2 back to back 4 points games while facing elimination, he's leading the Oilers to victory... it's him for the Conn-Smythe in my opinion.
As a Canadian, rn I'm very divided between wanting the cup to come to Canada and hating how cocky Oilers fans are
I feel that, I’d love to see a Canadian team win but my buddy is a Panthers fan.
Yeah as a panthers fan living in Canada, I’m very torn😂.
For the Oilers fans that lived through the decade of darkness, we're anything but cocky lol
@@JetpackJesse You'd be surprised with what I've seen from OTHER Oilers fans
REVERSE SWEEP BAYBEY, LETS GOOOOOOO
love the content!
thanks for answering my question!
If FLA gets a shutout on like a 50 shot night Bob might get the Conn but it would be nice if Barkov got it.
For Utah, I think most fans say that it should be Lawson Crouse. He's the heart and soul of the team.
There’s absolutely no way a goaltender with a completely average Save% should be in conversation for the Conn Smythe ffs. People acting like he’s putting up 950 Quick numbers, he has a .909 which is an entire .018% lower than Shesterkin who is by a mile this playoffs best goaltender.
That’s how I feel, I mean he’s playing very well but the sv% is too low
Does danielson get a Calder nod
Really appreciate content. Your take on events/players seems very much your own, accurate and educational, big thanks, keep it coming. Im a huge wings fan, white n red till im cold n dead. For the draft, im starting to really like Tig Iginla, and im wondering if theres any possibility of trading up to acquire him? Thanks again!
I’d love that, he likely won’t be there at 15. But trading up is always a possibility! 👀
@OhNyquist right!?!? Hes awesome. Wondering what a package would like, to move up into B.J.'s, or sens, or Habs spot. This years 1st, and either this year or next years 2nd, plus johnny burgers, and/or johansson? Seems pretty steep, but i truly believe Tij is that good. Has elements ya just cant teach. And those wonderful blood lines, hes 6', but plays like hes 5-10. And might still grow, considering how young he is.
I'd like to know why Bouchard isn't even mentioned in the Conn Smythe running. +12 and second in scoring...not bad for a defenceman.
If the 8-1 drubbing affects Babrovsky's Con Smythe's chances, it should also affect Barkov's
Which 1st overall pick will win the Stanley Cup first in your opinion, Juraj Slafkovsky (MTL), Connor Bedard (CHI) or Macklin Celebrini (SJ)?
Thinking outside the container: McDavid should still win the Conn Smythe even if the Panthers win The Cup. Breaking Gretzky's playoff assist record is a big deal.
Pus there's a strong chance of breaking the overall points record still.
Quick correction, McDavid was on 18, Tarasenko was on 17
11:00 need this to happen for the Shoresy reference
Biggest fucking C in the workd
@@lachlanpryznyk3327 huh?
🎉 who is the best UFA on the Montréal Canadiens, who is not a new signer from the draft
Pavelski is no where near HHOF, especially since Jere Lehtinen and Rod Brind'amour aren't there either.
Biggest part of HHOF's prestige is how hard it is to get inducted.
McDavid should win the Conn Smythe regardless of the outcome. Most assists ever in the playoffs and only 5 points off the record. Literally carrying the team through the last two games and making it a series.
Yes.
Bob still gets conn smyth one rough game in a 7 game series against the two best players in the world is still absolutely wild.
Mcdavid is on 18 not 17
Igor on the cover
Gotta be named the jazz
I think whichever player has the most impact on this next game, provided they were already in conn smythe discussion, wins it. If Barkov noticably shuts McDavid down and they win, it's his. If Bobrovsky has another game 1 performance, it's his. I'm not listing any Oilers bc I'm now firmly in "don't jinx it mode" lol
So, you think Skinner should win the award after his game 7 performance? ;)
Why not Bob on the cover of NHL 25
Allowed 5 goals in game 4 before being pulled and 4 last night. He’s not even in the conversation for conn smythe anymore.
re: utah naming.
maybe they are holding off with the expectation something big would happen to help shape the name, or influence the final decision
think... spider man and the twin towers cover.
I'm close to that way of thinking. Not the disaster part, but the sinking millions into branding and then hearing a much better idea a month into the season. They've had some decent suggestions, but nothing that really connects with the community.
Barkov or honestly A FREAKING GOALIE WOULD BE NICE
Oilers in 7
Well, no, this isn't an issue, because Oil wins SC and McD Conn Smythe 😮...
This entire Start, Bench, Cut thing is so idiotic. What's the difference between benching and cutting in this scenario?
When you bench a player, he is still on your team. Cutting means letting a player go.
@@IcyRobb Cutting does not imply letting a player go, it means cutting him from your roster for a particular game or games. It makes no difference to benching. Whoever worded this bullshit did a shitty job.
@@bansheerie4537 Excuse me, didn’t know someone could get so upset about the wording in particular. Do you like the idea of ranking the players in general?
@@IcyRobbI'm a linguist, so let's call it a professional deformation. As for player ranking, I'm not a fan either, because there are too many variables to account for, but people will do it anyway, and in most cases these rankings are more or less accurate, so I wouldn't whine about it.
@@bansheerie4537 Cutting means no contract...bye bye...back to the minors, if you improve in the next couple months we might call you up. Benching means, you're a healthy scratch for this game, show me something in practice tomorrow and I'll give you a shot next game.
I'm missing Aho & Teräväinen chemistry...
Dahlin for captain is very bold. He's talented player for sure but there is guys like Dylan Cozens, Alex Tuch that have a soul. Here in finland it's common joke that Dahlin is the most lazyest guy ever😅
Love bob, but after getting pulled he doesn’t deserve the Conn Smythe anymore
He never was gonna win it in my opinion. Game 4 just cemented that firmly
We all know NHL is gonna give McDavid conn smythe.
Yeah we all know it’s rigged. It’s not because he just broke gretzkys assist record that’s for sure. That was in the script anyway.
I wonder how they decide who gets to be the star players that make the most money? It can’t be based on production because we know it’s all scripted before hand.
Is it just the best actors? I wonder what age they inform them it’s all fake and start doing acting class instead of practice. I stopped playing at 12 so it has to be after that because I never had any acting lessons 😡
Make a video about Colecaufield
Bob definitely deserves it, but i feel like they'll give the conn smythe to mcdavid just because "muh gretzky record"
Yeah setting records over Gretzky, no big deal
@@walexander8378 still not deserving of Conn Smythe
@@walexander8378 You know what, tonights performance has completely changed my opinion. Good lord, McDavid is HIM
Nhl and soccers fans crying about the same game every year and still buying it. I love it (and am one of them but only because of pro clubs in EAFC, otherwise I'd probably not buy it anymore).
I still see Bob being favorite followed by Barkov and McD (if Edmonton somehow takes it to game 7 or wins it). I don't like saying a goalie doesn't deserve it after one bad game
Bob shpuld still be the Conn Smythe frontrunner for sure
Yeah man you really gotta stop with all that breathing it’s not good for you bro
Bob should still get the conn smythe, however i could see Barkov getting it.
No! Mcdavid should win regardless of the cup winner he just broke Gretzky record.
Edmonton fans getting that false hope over 1 blowout. Who here thinks they can win 3 straight? Lol. Against Florida, nope. They are done.
No man, wtf. Shesterkin should still win over Bob. Enough with this nonsense. Nobodies standing out in this cup, I say do something never done, give it to Shesterkin. It’s the MVP of the playoffs, not the cup Lol.
Are you stupid
What a TERRIBLE take. 👎
It's either Barkov or Bobrovsky, Shesterkin isn't in the mix.
How are you gonna give it to a player not even in the finals lmao, if not Bob then it should be Barkov or even Hyman
Shesty is the MVP of the golf course bro
