- In this video I’ll be installing the Barns 4wd heavy duty bolt on skid plate Upgrade for the Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006. This skid plate is a direct bolt on replacement for the thin flimsy sheet metal skid plate that is easily damaged while on the trail. The 1/4" steel construction of this skid plate provides the rigidity and strength needed for even the toughest of offroad conditions. Ground clearance will be increased up to 1" depending on year model. Installation time is about 2 hours, all hardware is included, and the skid will bolt onto any Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 4 cyl, 6 cyl, automatic or manual transmission. This skid will raise the transmission mount up to 1", some transfer case linkage adjustments may be required. On Jeeps with over a 2 inch suspension lift height, a slip yoke eliminator is recommended to avoid drive line vibrations. Rubicon models will require relocation of the locker air compressor. The additional OEM automatic transmission pan skid plate on 2003-2006 Rubicon models is not compatible with this skid plate. This skid plate will ship bare, and need to be painted or powder coated before installation.

That's funny you posted this video on the Barnes skid plate as I have the same one . I have a 1'' body lift on my 03 TJ , however it is coming out tomorrow and going to my buddy over at elevated jeeps. I'm just trying to lower the center of gravity . I am however on a 3.5 '' suspension lift which is staying. Love your videos and looking forward to your next one. I am also going with the Barnes transmission skid soon. Take care .
Nice, they are solid skid plates. My other Tj will be a LCG build I have a few things in mind for that Jeep. Basically the only way I could build this Jeep without cutting up the fenders and keeping it stock looking as possible. Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
Great video Dustin, if you ever need any help working on your Jeep let me know. I’m on the other side of town
Thanks Mike I appreciate that, we should get together on the trail sometime. 🍻🍻

How did u manage to get one every time I check they are out of stock 🙄🙄
Good question, if out of stock email them what you want to order including your phone number to contact you about placing the order. They are good about calling back at least in my experience, and I placed my order right over the phone. Good to see you back buddy 🍻🍻
