    Thanks brother! I’ve been growing my beard now for almost 2 years and only cleaned my brush once. I’ve been noticing some acne on my face as a result to not cleaning my brush often. Will definitely be cleaning it once every month or so now! Also great tip adding in the beard oil to the brush! I love how informative yet simple this video is

    Wow very glad I found this video, I have a Cremo beard brush similar to the one in this video, and I've had it for a little over a year and have never cleaned it 🥴 I also have a smaller one I keep in the car that also has to be cleaned. I remember the cleaning instructions saying to soak it in soapy warm water but I'll definitely follow the steps in this video. Cheers mate from Massachusetts, USA 🥂

    Wood swells up when you dip it in water which hampers it's longevity.
    Use luke warm water to moisten the bristles. It will help loosen up the oils and dirt.
    After shampooing the boar bristles (which is obviously hair strands) apply a little bit of conditioner to make the bristles soft.
    Wash off the conditioner fully, and then splash off the water immediately.
    After that, BLOW DRY the bristle brush. It will eliminate every traces of water. Also, blow dry at the back i.e. on the wood handle. Blow dry untill you feel the warmth on wood by touching.
    Put some oil on the bristles as well as on the handle. I will suggest to not to use the brush for a day atleast. You will notice that the layer of oil you have applied on the handle vanishes the other day as wood has absorbed the oil and it will prevent it from chipping and roughness.

      The beard oil adds a nice scent to the brush even when it's dry and also replenishes a bit of moisture to the actual boar hair after washing with soap. But beware of the wet beard brush...not a great smell at all! 😂

    What soap do I use to clean my beard brush

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  Год назад

      I would use my beard soap, but any good quality handmade soap with very few ingredients would work really well. That's ideal. However, if you have a regular soap, that is fine, but definitely put a few drops of beard oil on after to stop the bristles drying out 👍

    I don t know man... When have someone clean a hairbrush?

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  Год назад

      If you have a beard you get it. A hairbrush is very different as you are not putting it near your face. You are also eating, kissing etc around that area so it has to be cleaner than your head

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  3 года назад +1

      No not at all. There's no problem as long as there are no cracks in the brush and you dry it out properly. It's a once a week fix to keep it fresh so the wood can take that amount of moisture. Obviously some woods may react differently. Thanks for the question!
