  • Raw, unedited footage of me painting a cute duck in Procreate! Often we see these amazing polished and accomplished tutorials. But the truth is, most tutorials are rehearsed which means you don't get to see the mistakes or decision making it took to get to the final result!
    So I decided to record one of my drawing sessions and upload the raw, unedited version of the recording. It does mean that there's no narration, as it was one of my private sessions, but i hope it's still helpful to you.
    Enjoy!
    Brushes used: AquaReal 2 which is available in my shop at the below link:

    Lisa thank you so much for sharing this! I was always so frustrated that it takes me forever to pick a colour for shadows! It’s good to see that it is not necessarily as obvious as I thought (and was beating myself up about 😂) Another super cute character! So adorable 🥰

    Thank you so much for posting an unedited version of your work!!!! It's so refreshing to see your mistakes and decision-making instead of a well rehearsed version. This is extremely helpful especially with artists that deal with perfectionism - like myself. I'd love to see more post like this - even if it's just a quick short and without narration.

      So glad you enjoyed that! And I'm so happy it was refreshing for you! We always see the polished version online, never the messy steps it took to get there 😊 I'm hoping to do more of these for sure!

    Gosh Lisa, I can watch you all day. I’ve learned so much and you inspire me to keep improving my skills and not give up on my dreams of illustrating my own children’s books and more. I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done because I’ve been so lost.

    Super adorable!💕 I love watching you paint and I always learn something new from you🦆 I never knew Gradient Map Tool existed in Procreate! Neat.
    It seems like you don't have to tweak the blue line on the top, but rather it's easier to swipe/scroll(?) the whole canvas area🐥

      Oh my goodness!! Here I've been trying to grab that tiny blue line all along! Thanks so much for the tip! Never occurred to me to just try the canvas area 😅 Glad we could swap tips 😊

    Hi Lisa, Thank you for sharing your process. It so encouraging to try and test freely without stressing on having everything perfect.

      Yes absolutely!! I think creating art is meant to be filled with lots of experimenting and having the freedom to change things if we want. That's when the magic happens!

    Thank you so much for the much needed inspiration to draw characters!😀 I'm a food illustrator yet I would like to incorporate more characters to interact with the food I draw and I am so intimidated by trying to create characters though I've tried here and there a couple of times. I suppose the best thing to do is just practice, just do it!😉

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  27 дней назад +2

      Yes absolutely! It's always going to be frustrating at first when the gap between what you see in your mind and what you produce on paper is so different! but keep going because with each session that gap get's smaller. Start with simple bodies/shapes to represent the character and focus on the expression, this will give you good results while you improve the body shapes and limbs.

    This is a marvelous tutorial ‘cause you show us that an illustration has a lot of work behind (not so easy I think). Where can I check the color palettes you used in this particular case? I would love to try it too. 😊

      @Lisaglanz  26 дней назад +1

      So glad you enjoyed it! You can get the same palette I used from the Treasure Trove (the subscriber area on my website): www.lisaglanz.com/the-treasure-trove/

    Lisa, thank you so much for this raw video! Can I request the similar video but with Messy Paint Box set? I noticed you only have 1 tutorial video for said set, and I still can't use to its full potential yet. I'm such an idiot 🥲

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  20 дней назад

      Not an idiot at all!! Painting in a loose style is actually harder than we think because we tend to want to "control" the outcome too much. It takes quite a bit of practice to let go and just paint freely. I'll definitely try and do more tutorials with the messy paintbox set soon!
