- In this two part tutorial we’ll first explore all the brushes included in AquaReal 2, including their intended use and tips for getting the most out of them. Then we dive into painting a lovely ceramic jug where you’ll get a feel for using the brushes in an actual painting.

Just got these brushes and they are awesome and complement the previous AquaReal brushes perfectly. Lisa you have somehow managed to take the complexity out of the process whilst still being able to optimize the results. This is your best set yet, Lisa! I watched this tute when I first bought it, but after using it a bit I realized I needed to come back and take notes to catch all the little tips & tricks you use for each brush- better with flicks, drags, or circular strokes, whether to use as smudge or reg brush, on which layer, etc.
I learn best by writing a detailed account and following your steps. Then I better understand how to manipulate the brushes do what I want.
The one small flaw I found with AquaReal 1 was not being able to vary the intensity/transparency of the all-rounder with either pressure or tilt. I’m still mystified by the Procreate brush studio, so I gave up trying to adjust it myself. The universal brush in this set does EXACTLY what I wanted! When I saw that, I bought AquaReal 2 immediately.
I’m looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of this set. I have 9 other Procreate watercolor sets (too many!), but haven’t yet found a watercolor “baby bear”. I’m hoping AquaReal 2 is it! Thanks for taking the time to make this-if you want to make more, I’ll watch them!

I purchased these brushes and then did a class with someone else and ended up using these. Then saw the link to this class. Both the brush set and the class are amazing. You can see and hear the experience of real water colour come through. I am so looking forward to doing more and more. And, if you offer more classes like this jug one, I will be there. If you want watercolor tools that work for illustration and texture, stop collecting brushes and just get these tools because they just work for professional results
They may not make you a creative Lisa Glanz, but you will get closer ... just find your style and be happy.

Hi! I’m looking at the AquaReal original set and at the AquaReal 2. Is the sequel set better than the original? Or do they complement each other? Do the sets have different brushes?

Those are great questions 🤗 The original AquaReal set is based on classic watercolour finish which is more even toned and refined. It has everything you need to create beautiful paintings. The new AquaReal 2 set also has everything you need but is more textured which includes canvases that are more grungy in texture and have a higher contrast. The set also includes blenders specifically designed to create interesting bleeds and seeps which can add to a more "messy" textured look if that's more your style.
The sets have all new brushes, no repeats. They can be used together or independently.
So it depends on your preferred style of painting 😊 If you like more textured results with watermarks and granulation, then the new textured AquaReal will be great for that.
can you design a brush pack that looks like you made paper cuts like with collage? :)

Yes absolutely! The collection includes 5 premium canvases with various paper textures 😊

That's a great question 😊 The new AquaReal 2 set is more textured which includes canvases that are more grungy texture and have a higher contrast. The set also includes blenders specifically designed to create interesting bleeds and seeps which can add to a more "messy" textured look if that's more your style. I've also included 6 background washes for quickly adding a wash to an area. The original set has more traditional effects with refined texture. It has a balanced variety of brushes that has everything you need to achieve realistic results that are classic and refined. AquaReal 2 answers the needs of artist who prefer a more textured finish in their watercolour. So it depends on your style and what kind of look you want to achieve. Hope that answers your question!
Hi Lisa , I am from Thailand, and I have bought your aquarel 1 and 2 , it’s wonderful brushes, but if I could learn it more to draw like the girl you have painted in the showcase of the brushes, I am beginner and would like to draw like you , I have been trying for a while but it’s kind a difficult for me , so… do you have some courses for this ? Hi!! So glad you're enjoying the brushes! I have several classes on my website, however they don't cover drawing the girl specifically but include techniques etc that you can apply to your work. The beginning stages of learning to draw can be frustrating, and seem like you are not improving. But keep going, I promise if you practice very often you will definitely improve and also develop a style unique to you ❤️🤗

I really wish I could, but sadly I just can't seem to get the same results in Adobe Photoshop. I use many nuanced settings in Procreate which Adobe Photoshop lacks so the results aren't to my liking unfortunately.
