Good to hear you got it done. Is a bit of a pain but having done it once I think I could do it pretty well if I needed to. I'll leave mine for 100k then do it again to see if catch can works. Do you notice a difference?
@@TheBrowneTown defo noticed a difference, found 3 intake bolts undone probs due to thr corrigation ive done up north karajini and down south. Seems to have a bit more up and go from a standstill to 100. I have changed to hard pipes and an ATI intercooler aswell so that can of contributed to it. Theres 0 lag now when taking off. Almost like driving a petrol car. Attcking mates ranger in the next couple weekends too.
No dramas. It's one of those things that's a massive pain the first time, but next time round it won't seem so hard. Although hopefully you don't have to go in there too often.
You need to remove part of it to get to the EGR valve but not the air intake manifold from memory. However the biggest carbon buildup restriction is in this black plastic manifold so ideally that's what you would clean.
Mate get a Egr delete cable from diesel boss only $65 ebay. One of the best things ive done on my 2015 Ranger. No more carbon mixing with the oil to form that black gunk. Better response from quicker turbo spool up. And measured around 10% better fuel mileage.had on 2 years been flawless.
I actually ordered a spare thinking it was missing and the new valve and motor also didn't have an O-Ring, so I guess for whatever reason they don't need it. Not sure why though as I've seen other vehicles with the O-Ring.
No, I don't have an o-ring on mine. I also ordered a spare egr motor and valve. The valve spring wasn't operating as smoothly as I'd like. Giving me a stuck closed code. And no o-ring on replacement part either.
Allow 8 hrs including removing intercooler /hoses/throttle plate/ intercooler /manifold,, plus cleaning 2006 --2011 Bt50 Ranger . nb egr is easier to access underneath . 2wd is easier Always clean the egr cooler as well ,,,they block up
Upto 100,000km is ok moderate cleanup Same model different car 205000km required huge amounts of cleaning , 4 teaspoons of sludge each cylinder head port . Also carb cleaner and stiff tooth brush on ports . ENSURE VALVES ARE CLOSED
@@TheBrowneTown Ensure rockers are on the back of the cam lobes . If both valves are in this position the piston is on the compression stroke = valves closed . Caution some engines share an intake swirl flap between 2 cylinders . This may have valves that are not closed . Best way is to crank with injectors removed to blow out any excess cleaning fluid .
Thanks mate! Followed your vid and changed me glow plugs while manifold was out. What a messy job lol😂. 100k mine was clogged asf.

Awsome video!!! Wanting to see the coolant replacment video soon hopefully! Keep up the good work!
Thank you.
Done mine on the weekend following this video. You’re a legend 👌🏽 I’ll be following ur suspension video in a couple weeks. Thanks man

Can you just take out the egr valve to clean without removing the whole intake?

ledgend, thank on the torque specs!
No dramas, good luck

Thanks mate, I'll keep it in mind, am curious to see if the catch can works as advertised first and if it doesn't I might go that route 👍
Thanks a million 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
No problems
Hey there, did you have an o-ring on your egr valve motor?
I did not. Be interested to hear if you do?
Not sure why mine wasn't there.

I guess I can stop looking for it then.
Weird, not sure why some do and some don't. Mine is 2015, maybe 2015 and later don't?
No idea to be honest.
Oven foam cleaning spray will make you cleaning job effortless and leave your intake sparkling in minutes
If I remember I'll try it next time. Although I'm hoping next time there won't be much mess at all with the catch can doing its job 🤞

Hi mate, just a question but how do you ensure the valves are closed?
Cheers for the info.

My challenge for you is to do a video of the same job on a 2010 bt50. It will take you 5 days.
Genuinely hoping to never do this job again 🤞
