In recent weeks we’ve sampled the first-ever hybrid BMW M-car and the first-ever BMW M3 wagon, but now it’s time to farewell the German brand’s last ever petrol-only performance car.
It’s virtually confirmed that the 2023 BMW M2 will be the final non-hybrid M-car and the last to offer a manual transmission option.
BMW M made its name making rear-wheel drive sports cars like the M2 and it hasn’t lost its touch. Its latest creation is both fearsomely fast but, more importantly, a lot of fun.

@@addictedtosliding Every time a review is done, subjective feedback is part and parcel of it. Most reviews as with this one, has a verdict!! The journos will inevitably pass some sort of judgement.
To be fair mentioning the styling is now beating a dead or horse: you either love it or hate it. I personally can't stand the new M2's design but trends come and go. BMW will either revert to something more subdued, or another abomination.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc etc

Very cool car, even if the naysayers think its ugly. I hope I get a chance to drive someone else's at pace in the future.
Meh...I'll take my 128 sport thats been modded to my taste....lighter...slower for sure...a blast to drive with the 330 intake and tune.....and I like looking at it... With the money I save I could buy a nice early cayman and service both until I die....
