Hey Whulfri, thanks for the kind and supportive words, and yeah I’m super happy to be doing this stuff with the guys in the painting phase. There the real talent….. ……I’m just a simple man painting his way across the galaxy
I cant stress how much I have enjoyed these recent videos. Everyone makes the “Model Painted Easy!” Videos and it seems so daunting still. 50 paints, 10 different brushes, airbrushes, and lord knows what else. These really are simple and look good. So glad to see more videos that really are targeted are beginner and mid level painters. It really shows it isnt the size of your… um.. collection.. but how you use it.
Good to see you expressing your full potential Peachy without any imposed restrictions. I’ve certainly learned a lot from your videos and Duncan’s over the years and made me a better painter. Keep up the good work, this channel deserves many more subscribers. All the best, Gio

Brilliant tutorial! And that little laugh when the phone went off at the end creased me! Another great video from The Painting Phase that further cements you guys as my favourite hobby channel! You guys were already a solid 10 on the Endearing meter after the first few videos with Pat and Geoff and now with Peachy on board it's like Nigel Tufnel pointing at the channel and saying "But these go to eleven!" Watching these videos is like sitting round the kitchen table with a brew or a bevvy and just having a laugh with your mates while you either roll some dice or get some painting done and I'm loving every one of them!
I'd love to see you do a blue colour rather than the orange, what would you recommend? I am not that creative for the most part I follow these guides to the tee.
Love these videos, I doubt I’ll be painting squats any time soon, but the techniques are so transferable. Especially the leather and staining the drybrushing in this one!
This scheme is great! Yellow always intimidates people, but this is a great looking yellow that you can bang out at a high speed. You can realistically work your way through a whole squad in no time at all with this recipe. Peachy's advice with the spray is a good one too. I always had trouble colour matching my sprays to my paints from pots. Perhaps an extra coat does the trick.
Absolutely fantastic video quality, was pretty stunned. I also would be really interested to see this scheme transferred to a votann vehicle and if this could also be done with similar, speedy techniques. Keep this up!
you used contrast paint in 4 different ways here as a wash on the armor as a finish on the armor and metal as a base layer on the face and as a sfx on the glowy bits thats creative. learned a lot :o
For those wondering what the music is, I believe they've used 'Special' by Adrian Berenguer, from his 'The Journey' album. Alternatively, it's 'Night Stalker' by Wave Saver. Both tunes are virtually identical, but Wave Saver's starts off with full Synthwave from the start, whereas Adrian Berenguer's uses classical piano to get us started. However, it could be a totally different, royalty-free version!
@@thepaintingphase Aka, the sensible approach! I'd be doing exactly the same thing myself. It's a quality tune, for those that enjoy a bit of synthwave.
I just saw this video and really like the paint scheme. I want to try it for myself but I have a problem. I am in the US and Colour Forge does not ship here. Any suggestions on what to do for base/primer? White primer with Averland Sunset airbrushed over? Something else?
Wow this is amazing. I ordered myself the Army Box and while it’s on it’s way I was thinking, how could I do I green and black color scheme. Is there a good way to do that since those colors are so dark? With highlights and all that
Very well done! I’m a bit of an adherent to the Four-Armed Emperor, so if you feel like painting up some more totally-loyal-not-mutant neophytes using this method, I’d be interested!

Guess I've found a new method to paint my Iyanden army! One question, can I use Contrast Medium instead of water to acheive the same effect? Thanks for the awesome videos!
Hi Peachy. Loving the videos. These colours will look amazing on my Tau pathfinders team. So, a really big useful tutorial as ever. I like the way you give ideas not only for the model in question, but the possibility of transition (big word there! Lol) to other models too. I'm impressed with your fantastic brush skills too, you make lines look so easy. Thanks again for another winning vid. Kind regards Ian 🖌️🖌️🖌️👍

Amazing result. I try this tech for my votann army. Thank you guys. Peachy is great. I have one question: can we try imperial fist contrast if we have not yvanden yellow? Same result?
Hey Adrien, thanks for the support 😍. In regards to imperial fist, though it’s a lovely bright and strong yellow it’s one of those new heavier pigmented contrasts so you wouldn’t get much depth in the recesses as it’s makes everything the same tone of yellow, so recesses, highlights all look the same. But you could use imp fist first then apply iyanden or Cassandora yellow after. Hope this helps 👍
Dear Peach, I´m totally fall in love with these videos, I have found all the motivation to start moving my brushes. I have one question: I think this technique is good enough for small models but...how can I traslate this to bigger vehicles? I mean, I think I could paint a small miniature like this but I couldn´t paint a Votann Vehicle with contrast because the finish can be so dirty (even more in a Titan!) so...What can I do to get the "little miniatures yellow" for bigger machines and vehicles without lost a sense of homogeneity with the small miniatures painted with contrast? Sorry for my bad english but I´m sure you will understand me. Thanks in advance for your answer and all the best in this new phase :)
Hello! I'd still use the same colours for the most part, spray yellow etc, the main difference would be that I'd use the contrast only as a recess shade and not over all of the model, more dry brushing highlights for a variety of tones and texture on the edges. Vehicles and troop can look a little different to eachother as if they were real the materials they were made out of would be different, it doesn't have to be an absolutely perfect match. If your troops are consistant and your tanks are all consistent then you're winning. We might do a video on this!
Thank you, this is the video I have been waiting for. What would happen if you primed in black? And with the armor colour I was looking to change it to either a red or blue.
If you just focused on the principles and techniques I don’t think the colour would be an issue, I reckon though if you wanted blue armour get a blue spray, and use some slightly darker blue contrast for the armour and cloth, maybe go black legion for the boots and leathers etc. but yeah definitely doable. - Peachy
Any chance we could get a true, genuine beginners guide to putting some basic models together? Maybe a simple, single box squad of marines, and all the absolute basic gear you'd need to get them game-ready (tools/undercoats/paints/brushes etc), then perhaps some slightly more exotic paints/washes/scenery to step it up to. With Xmas coming up, I think it could be a great little guide to get people up and started.

At a pinch, I would say spray them bone (wraithbone is good but any will do) wash Seraphim Sepia all over, Dry brush with Screaming skull. And then I’d pick out any metals, browns and robe colours and coat them in Agrax. And to finish off for a super quick highlight is gently dry brush over everything with bone. This will highlight the cloth etc, but make everything look a little dusty and ancient.
