If anyone buys this, if you want an even better push fit experience just cut the rods by a tiny amount (like 2mm) and the parts fit together better/easier 😊
@@iheartzombies8848 no what he means is the rods you use to push the sides together. Sometimes they are a little to long and because of that the model doenst fit nicely.
a tip: I came up with a better idea for recreating the abcesses and boils; instead of painting them on a different colour, just use the same base colour as the surroundings (the skin/flesh tone mostly) that will remain a bit brighter than the rest of the skin once you apply a shade to it. Then, I use casandora yellow shade on top of the boils, achieving the effect that you are watching actually skin ready to burst with the pus pushing inside. Give it a try, the results are impressive and very realistic!
I was so excited when you guys re-released the deathguard heroes set a year ago. Picked up the entire set. At the time I just really wanted the rare models but I guess now I don’t have to worry about having a kill team this edition 😂😂
I'm so excited. I might actually get Kill Team. Its really cool the loyalist marines arent locked into being Ultramarines. Then the Death Guard minis returning!
Just helped our local G.W. shopkeep put þe models togeþer, and we honestly had more fun making up names for þe Death Guard. Can’t wait to go back and help paint ‘em! And here i was thinking "hm if only there was a desth guard kill team" throw in some corpse worshipping fools and some easy to assemble terrian and im all in baby!
The shoulder pads on these models cannot be exchanged without cutting them off, but they are also not sculpted with Ultramarines iconography (i.e., they're plain/universal).
As a new player who just got done working on some Astra Militarum soldiers as was debating on investing in Space Marines or Death Guard. Now I can get both 🤩 Anyone know when it releases?
I wonder if you can choose helmeted versions of the Astartes and Plague Marines. I like my boys with badass helmets rather than their faces exposed. I have some extra helmets from my other boxes, but since this kit doesn't use glue, it might be a bit inconvenient to combine.
You can always use glue if you want to. You just want to snip the pegs off as they are designed to fit without it. And the original kits had two different head options for each model. At least for the Death Guard, that is. Anyway, there's no reason why it wouldn't be on the new sprue. It's a lot more work for them to redesign sprues and they never do it.
@@Filip_Agrippa They both come with head options. While these kits are push fit they are still plastic and can use plastic glue like normal models. The Plague Marines have some great options for bare heads.
Prime black and drybrush white if you are using contrast paints, or just prime black and paint over it if you are going for a darker color scheme. Prime it white if you are going for a very saturated color scheme, and gray if you are in the middle/undecided. Gray is always a good neutral colored choice. Usually I only prime in black or gray. It matters because paints are slightly translucent some more than others, so think about how it will look on top of the primer color with the primer color influencing it.
Hello! I just bought this lovely boxed set for myself, and I'm wondering if I lost something when unboxing. Isn't there a decals sheet in the box, like with the omegas for the ultramarines?
Probably not. They were originally released as the Space Marine Heroes Series 4, and all of those sets came in coloured plastic exclusively. They will likely remain this way, even if they get another release as a standalone kill team squad box.
They claim these push fit models need no glue, but trust me, you NEED at least one drop of glue, literally any glue would be better than nothing, if you don't want the heads/helmets to fall out. The rest of the model pushes together more or less fine if you want to do that, but I always clip the pins and glue it anyways.
Love the look of this starter and even moreso excited for the prospect of further MDF terrain kits. The Mortal Realms would make for excellent kits I could fill multiple tables with!
HEY NEW PLAYERS!!! Please consider priming your models
don't be silly, just use multiple coats including a nice solid blue over the face
And before that, scrape off the mold lines.
Yep, stop watching any time I see one of these that skips priming, much as I want to support painting content
i do
@@harrishoin7950 If you're going to be that picky about it, you're probably past the point of needing a "how to paint..." video in the first place.

haaha yea now i see people trying to sell them for like 60-80% less than earlier, good thing
May even be easy for people to pick them up individually now!
That brings pure joy to my heart and puts a tear in my eye

I only recently started doing this and I wish I knew earlier. So many gaps in my early push-fit models. 10/10 tip

That sounds so grody. Show us what it looks like on Instagram or X with #WarhammerCommunity!
I'd definitely gotta give that a try
I had already been planning on getting a Death Guard unit, and this box was announced at just the right time! The Space Marines are awesome too
Genuinely so happy that you guys released these teams, makes em so much easier to get a hold of!
I hope this means the set is coming very soon.

Love painting videos like this that are at a basic level
I'm so excited. I might actually get Kill Team. Its really cool the loyalist marines arent locked into being Ultramarines. Then the Death Guard minis returning!
When's it out?
That's what I was thinking. That's pretty much all of the death guard characters I want.
I NEED IT!!
I'd definitely like to have some Plague Marines!
It just got announced for pre order today
This box is perfect, it is literally the two teams, my son and I want to play.

-Def Leper
-Phil Coughin’
-Pink Guy (Cyclops helm, play on Pink Eye)
-Pus-tavo Fring
-Steve Bu-phlegm-i (Heavy guy in video)
This looks like a good starter set.
I am sure the ultramarines aren’t still mad over the plague wars. (Oh they are, but it is just lost in the sea of hate over the heresy.)
Any chance we can see the ‘Eavy Metal style paint up on a mini? I would love to watch that process start to finish! Even if the video was an hour.
Is it just me. Or does every pot of rakarth flesh look vastly different from one another. Ive never had two pots that are the same shade.
I think they've changed formulas again recently
Really excited for that box.
hype! cant wait for this set!
This is genius, one step ahead thinking.
as someone who already owned the death guard models, i weep for not getting a unique kill team
I'm happy we get rules.
They have confirmed that the Death Guard will have a unique team soon, via the warcom announcement article.
At least it sounds like you're getting custom rules instead of just playing legionary!
Plague marine looks like a ghostbuster in reverse
That's cool. So about the White Dwarf rules for an World Eater Kill Team using the kits already available in 40k.
And here i was thinking "hm if only there was a desth guard kill team" throw in some corpse worshipping fools and some easy to assemble terrian and im all in baby!
Every time I see them painting straight onto the plastic I come closer to falling to the Chaos Gods.
Sweet box set though. Me like.
Hi Adam, love your tutorials. Could you do a tutorial for the Death Company? I find black so hard to paint, especially for a whole army.
Are the Space Marine models sculpted with Ultra Marines in mind, or are you able to change out some shoulder pads for other chapters?
The shoulder pads on these models cannot be exchanged without cutting them off, but they are also not sculpted with Ultramarines iconography (i.e., they're plain/universal).
Yeah the shoulders are part of the arm but you can use decals
Excellent!
For the grandfather

@@officialwarhammer That's amazing. I really love the iconic Death Guard helmets.
Not a bad guide however... If you buy this or are getting into warhammer, please prime your minis!
Papa bless! 🪰🪰🪰
I will definitely buy this starter. But I’m very curious, why exactly is the captain leading the Angels of Death squad?
Honestly just to have a hero model in the set. It's cool
All models are from the Space Marine Heroes line. So it's because captains are cool.
Hope these are multipart kits! I’d love to kitbash them into some Space Wolves!
They're push-fit, but with extra heads. Reposing them or replacing parts will involve cutting.
Will you be able to buy the deathguard kill team separately
We march for Macragge!
Why didn't they prime them?? Also what color would be best for priming, the choas black for both armies? (im new)

Yep!

No, that belongs to the Emperor.
£60-70 depending on where you buy from
@officialwarhammer I kind of already made a deal with a certain diety when we had the last pandemic.
I feel bad for those who spent a fortune on the Death Guard SMH series.
Have the price been announced yet?
Sadly, no

Its mostly made up of existing models so I'm not sure.
Probably not. They were originally released as the Space Marine Heroes Series 4, and all of those sets came in coloured plastic exclusively. They will likely remain this way, even if they get another release as a standalone kill team squad box.
Why do they always include balazar gold and not retruibuter gold and I missing something
The helmet on the Plague Marine doesn't look like it fits very well...
