Excellent job Roman! Your past knowledge was surprising even this Chevrolet expert! This was definitely one of your most comfortable and free flowing interviews I have ever watched you do. The fact that I love the vehicle also helps a little!! Hahaha. Keep em coming! Looks like SEMA is going to be a marathon of videos and editing and producing and schmoozing and you will all need next week as vacation to recover!! Haha. Thanks TFL!
Great review and interview of this military development vehicle. This would be a great off roader toy. I would love to take it to Moab for a week or two of awesome fun. Thanks for sharing Roman.
I don't see them putting any up armor on this. It is meant to be light for slingload, airmobile and airdroppable operations. It will most likely go to the Ranger Batts, 82nd & 101st Reconnaissance units and other light Infantry units. I can see the rear section being modified for a mounted M2HB .50 cal. It's a support vehicle, meant to get soldiers in and out of a fight quickly. Definitely even SF units.
Yeah, I wonder how it will perform after they add 1,000 lbs. of armor to the bottom and sides. Cool concept, though. Noted the pintle mounts for weapons, too. :)
Safety my ass. If it's safer, I want that safety for my family. If it's about a vehicle that won't incur high repair rates or replacement due to breakdown, I demand that too.
I was hoping someone could explain how the ISV has a payload of 3200 lbs and a curb weight of 4950 lbs yet is on the same axles as the ZR2 that have a gross axle weight rating of 3450 lbs front and 3200 lbs rear?
Jason Boydston This is a personnel carrier so probably not. But I doubt they’d be doing whoops at 40+ mph with a trailer anyways. That could bend any frame
He said this vehicle won't pass emissions, I guarantee that's part of how they got extra power out of that Duramax. The diesel particulate filter and the DEF system rob a bunch of power from a free breathing diesel engine.
330K each. The first one to hit an IED or be targeted by a .50 cal and all 9 soldiers die...the vehicle will be abandoned and we tax payers pick up the tab. Ridiculous.
Essentially the warthog from halo or a Jeep, not meant to be armored per say but to get enough troops on target to overwhelm the enemy quickly. The Army also has modified Polaris Rzr’s. Great for low signature recon or direct action assaults. Humvee’s were slow and loud. MRAPs and Jltv’s replaced them in a armored sense but still didn’t give them a fast and quiet vehicle capable of carrying a squad.
@@nicholasmolinaro9141 I understand the operational need; but still say 300k is WAY too much for a stripped down Colorado with good shocks. But I stand with my predictive assessment. First one taken out will be a media firestorm and they will be yanked.
Just like my H3, the front wheels get the rear fender area dirty, in this case the troops. Mudflaps all around could help a lot. It seems that they did no longer have the (better) H3 parts around and had to use the almost similar Colorado parts, the front suspension being the biggest visible and technical difference. If I roll my H3, I will make a look-alike... No armor, but where to draw the line? Small arms? RPG? Landmine? War is deadly anyways... Tactics save lives. There is the WOKE version of this one, the electric one, I hope it will not replace this real one. Electric vehicles are just not suitable for military use. Charging time is death.
I like how he gets GM to admit they don't care about the environment. That vehicle is such a scam. MIC is a money out, no wonder so many companies want to fleece those public funds.
Love the idea. But not really practical for war. If I were going back to the battlefield I'd want some protection while in the vehicle. But i do love the design and the look.
Yup, I want one! As a former Army MP Paratrooper, I can definitely get behind this! Put it on the market!
That looks fun. A few tweaks to the rear end, seating/storage and that would be a blast off road. (for civilian use)
0:20 Ben from JK Gear and Gadgets casually lurking in the background.
Would love to see a commercially available civilian version of this truck
As spec op vehicles go, this is nice! I can see those tires not making the cut for military use though.
Well they made the cut

Wrong he needs to stop cutting the guy off
The front kinda looks like the warthog from Halo

The ultimate Jeep. Most expensive UTV available. Take my money and build this
UPDATE: GM did get the ISV Army contract. Now the Amy will likely begin adding weight with Kevlar armored doors, etc., etc.

@@2008Archangelhumvee cough
@thepickle6406 except the HMMWV needs replacing after 40 years of service. The Jeep faced the same issue back in the 70s.
THat is a BADASS! I would Buy One for a Ranch/Hunting Truck!
Oh boy, here comes some more jd power awards
Only thing missing is the radio mounts. Think they need a comm guy in there for advice
Ya boy jokes but I've got a 2WD S10 with a blown motor that's about to get repurposed.
Wish list!!!👍👍👍
Looks like a side by side on steroids. Pretty cool.
Love it! great headlights and wheels to put on a production Colorado!
Halo warthog!!!
I am drooling.... how much?
I want one of these!
What does the dramatic yellow button in front of the gear shift do?
Put a dump bed on it and it would make a great ranch machine.
That’s great, where am I supposed to mount my 117F? where does the frequency jamming equipment mount? What about my M4 and 250b?
Please do it I would by it
Need a Vee Hull for increased soldier safety against IEDs.

It’s a taxi not a patrol vehicle. This is to drive from point A to point B after getting tossed out the back of a perfectly good airplane.
Yeah I'd like to see a bed on the back and I think that would be an awesome truck to have

So they stripped a Colorado and fit with aftermarket parts and how much are they charging for no doors?
Yes it does
I’d buy it 👍💯

reminds one of the Willys jeeps used in the north african and post WW2 yemen by the SAS.
The SAS used Pink Panther Land rover's in Yemen
Pretty sweet!
I could see The cartels buying it Roman!
Awesome!
Hopefully they beefed the frame up over the stock Colorado. I would hate to see the frame bend when towing a trailer off road.
Jason Boydston This is a personnel carrier so probably not. But I doubt they’d be doing whoops at 40+ mph with a trailer anyways. That could bend any frame
Very cool
So the Army gets a real blazer but not the rest of us.
Danm
No DEF required
No Def fill next to that diesel fill. 🙃
The military doesn't want to mess with that BS.

Me wants!
All I can say is get ready for some rear end Squeaking.
They won
The Army definitely won't by this. Absolutely no protection. No runflats. No weapon racks. No radio mounts/antennas. Fire extinguisher exc
They already did. $214 million for 649 vehicles

Meanwhile GM is shifting jobs overseas and here we are giving them more money.
Right as a company GM only thinks of money and not keeping jobs here, they want the guy that makes $2.00 an hour. and lives in a grass hut.

I thought zr2s had frame bending issues
Not this one. Only 70% remember lmao

Still would prefer a humvee :P
Tad P No soldier enjoys a humvee
Not sure that the wheel/tire package on that will survive military use.
There’s no armor anywhere on it.
Interesting those are AEV rims. So probably from the Bison ZR2.
What do you think “military use” is?
The frame will bend
Silent but Deadly Only if your pulling an overloaded trailer at high speed Offroad. Any frame would.

This is for fast transport for special operations soldiers. The average soldier will never see this type of vehicle.
