South Africa built similar small ISV 4X4's in the 1960's thru 1980's. SA troops called them Vaporizers because that is what happened to the crew when it hit a mine.
Same as what happens when a Stryker hits a 60 to 150 pounds of IED, even if it falls back down in one piece the crew usually gets "liquefied", even v-hulls aren't capable of completely protecting the crew, especially if the IED is offset to the side and the blast is either directed by the landscape (a mountain side, a hill or even just a steep 3 ft of rise in ground level) or the amount of HME is just increased again, to the point where it does damage. In modern peer-to-peer war, the rulebook goes out the window and the troops start adapting to what works. One of the militaries requirements was reliability after the H1 gas and diesel issues so GM over engineered these to last much longer and the ZR2 packages is all extreme off-road equipment . The Duramax is also inthe new JLTVs and been extensor reliable and quick . They produced a Duramax diesel option, a diesel hybrid electric and a full EV options, all 3 variants have been ordered.
so...its a chevy huh? does this mean everything on it is plastic and will break the first time you use it?
holy shit its the prowlers from arma 3
Funny is this how gm is trying to pay back those bail outs they took from taxpayers. Besides if they can low ball bid for government contracts then make money off of the over stock then they have money to pay back the taxpayers. Besides if its a cheap Chevy it wont run cant start can't go through what its supposed to and has a ton of recalls. I think i would rather have them give every American a four door 4 cylinder car good on fuel free of cost for all the bail outs. We deserve that

What retired general(s) is on the board of directors of the company that received the contract? File this next to "Osprey", DOD (taxpayer) money well spent.
Biden kissing the ring of the UAW !!
why did they discontinue the HUMVEE? arent they badass? why discontinue that? for a modified Chevy.

Will the new ISV fit into the Ch-53K King Stallion?
Nope, those are only used by the navy and marines. This was designed for the army only.
@@f0rumrr I wasn't sure if Force Recon would make use of them.
its possible marsoc could order them @@gregking7926

Какой радиус без дозаправки? Для России не подойдет, а зимой все нахрен перемёрзнут😂😂😂 И вот Гудериан говорил в России нет дорог. Переделывайте этот хлам)))
Sending them to Iran ?
I hope those Assault Buggies will come with Heavy Armored Doors and Body Panels and not repeat what US Soldiers were faced with their No Armored HUMVEEs in Iraq?
After watching a lot of Ukraine fighting videos, I would not like to be in one of these in combat.
They are not for armored or mechanized brigades, but for light infantry brigades to give them rear area mobility without bringing in a transport unit.
open architecture so the drones have a 30% chance of flying through without hitting anything. 100% that the crews get soaked in the rain and snow while freezing their butts off.
@@sittinandthinkin The other option is to WALK in the rain and snow, freezing their butts off. The IFV are to give light infantry units a little mobility, BESIDES their feet.
@@steveaustin2686 they don’t call them foot soldiers for nothing. Sorry can’t go to battle if I don’t have my corvette powered buggy boss I don’t think so.
@@Rob-vv5yn 🙄The difference of a light infantry battalion moving 30 miles in a day or in an hour to reinforce somewhere is a BIG difference.
warthog in the making folks
They will add so much weight to it they will be useless.
Oops, forgot the armor.
Lowest bidder. Wouldn’t drive a Chevy in the states let alone let my life depend on one.
Same. I have 2 Silverados, a 2012 1500 and a 2018 2500 LT, both have massive amounts of frame rot. (I also live in Western NY, they salt the roads like crazy).
My 2012 Toyota Tundra is a TANK.
Humvees are gm
@@user-bd5md5cm2jHumvee’s, the civilian version of the HMMV were built by GM but were sold off in 2008/2009. The HMMV did use a Chevrolet-built 6.5 liter diesel engine however.
If you are in the military you get what the government gives you and don’t have a choice.
@@mmasque2052 they were all built in the same plant. Only the name was sold for hummer. Gm is the parent company.
I hope that it doesn't leak oil like the Humv does.
It's a Chevy Colorado, look up the complaints about it.
don't hit a tree branch lol
Looks cool, I hope these vehicles don't end up getting donated like all that hardware the Taliban are now enjoying.
