I appreciate the component of the video that showed how to remove spaces between letters in MS Word! I've been struggling with that for a while! Thanks!
thanks for sharing, i didn't no all that stuff was in Microsoft Word.. that's a great idea, i use carbon paper to transfer the pattern to wood, thanks for a great video,, godbless
Great video and very helpful! You saved me a lot of time and probably some $$. After making a few of these, the only note I would add is that I find it helpful to place two puzzle connections between each letter. I know it's not always possible, but the letters with only one connector seem destined to snap off at some point. Thanks again!
+Bryce Lane Thanks. I don't mean to be quite so random. I kind of just make what I have time for and what i am interested in at the moment as you know it takes allot of extra time to do video of a project.
I know man, not random, just pretty cool to see a channel with so many interests. I feel like it definitely reflects your interest. Keep up the good work, and yes I do know that it takes time to do videos!!! :)
Great video. I have found that putting painters tape on the wood then using a glue stick to attach the template works well. Take a look at my videos if you are interested in the technique. I'll have to make one of these name puzzles for my little one.
Yikes. I am fine until I get to the part where you said that you might have to experiment with the number "30". The name I am trying is Jackson. I can not find the right number so that it will fit on the page. What number should I use for names that are longer than Blake?
I know this is late, but some options you might have is either to make the font smaller so that is fits on one sheet, make the margins smaller so that it prints closer to the edge of the page, buy legal sized paper if your printer supports it, or finally, just split the name in two, print it and use real life cut and paste.
I use Gimp to work with text and even create the puzzle connections. I make sure to set the size and pixel density so it will print to the size I want. For instance, I'll set it to 300 DPI and choose the dimensions to what I want, and the image adjusts to the required size. Then I export it as a pdf, which I can print easily. Adobe Reader will print pdfs across multiple pages in case you've got a Persephone or a Bartholomew on your hands. Then you can splice as many pages as you need with tape. Stick it and cut it.
for first time cutting your video did not show me how to cut around the letters. I am confused on how to cut around the letter N in cursive to show 2 N's next to one another a little more explanation would of been awesome it was otherwise self explanatory

Cool Video, very informative.
+StartKinect Thanks!
We used big puzzle pieces and outlined on the wood so we didn't freehand and have that typical thought in our head that it didn't look good haha
Nice! Subscribed!
what is the machine name and which wood?
It is a scroll saw.
