Well explained. It is commonsense, KIIFR and Masala Bond is a big international fraud overall. The intent of Kerala Govt was to collect maximum amount of money in 5 years and not indenting to pay back. Govt will change in 5 years, who will pay back the huge amount of money with interest when Kerala's income cannot support it's expenses and living with increasing state debt every year. I think, it is good that the Central Govt saved Kerala from this big fraud.

The Masala bonds had a coupon rate of 9.73% and was bought by a Canadian pension fund based in Qubec. From their point of view, they got only an effective 4% yield, as the CAD-INR exchange rate moved about 20% during the five years! However, this is very good for them as the average earnings on USD/CAD during that period was around 2% or less. Today after the US Feds increased interest rates on the USD, it is closer to 5%.

ഇവിടെ P S C പരീക്ഷ വഴി മിടുക്കർ മാത്രം എഞ്ചിനീയർ മാരായി P W D Dept ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ എന്തിനായിരുന്നു കിഫ്ബി എന്ന വെള്ളാന. ബില്ലുകൾ പാസ്സാക്കാൻ കൈകൂലി വാങ്ങിയാലും ജോലിയിൽ കുറച്ചു എങ്കിലും സത്യസന്ധത കാണുമായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ കടലിൽ തൂക്കുപാലം നിർമിച്ചത് പോലെ ഉള്ള ജോലികൾ പരിശോധിക്കാൻ പോലും ഉത്തരവാദപ്പെട്ട ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ട് എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. P W D ഓഫീസർമാർ ഇതേ പറ്റി ഒന്നും ഉരിയാടി കേട്ടിട്ടും ഇല്ല. കൊടികെട്ടിയ ഒരുപാട് സംഘടനകൾ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പോലും. പക്ഷെ അവര്കുള്ള വിഹിതം കിട്ടുമായിരിക്കും പുറകിലൂടെ കഷ്ടം.

When a Canadian company subscribes our masala bond they pay in foreign currency to the extend of Indian rupees at the exchange rate prevailing on the date of issue. Similarly repayment also will be Indian rupees converted to foreign currency (by somebody) at rate prevailing on that day. So invariably it involves FEMA violations. It is a misnomer to say availing loan in Indian currency and repaid in Indian currency as the foreign company cannot get Indian currency and repayment in Indian currency is of no use to them .

@Marunadan exclusive KTDFC had taken a loan of 350 crores from kerala cooperative bank and rolled it over to KSRTC in 2018. It was supposed to be a one month arrangement but ksrtc refused to pay back the loan. Then ktdfc also stopped paying interest to kerala bank.
Avasanam ktdfcde NBFC license RBI radhakum ennu vannapol, now in march 2024, the kerala government has bailed out ktdfc by giving them more than Rs 500 crores, which is actually the loan repayable by ksrtc to ktdfc. Ath ktdfc marich kerala bankinte loan adachu. Due to inefficeiency and mismanagement of ktdfc and ksrtc, avasanam 500 crores tax payer money vechu govt loan adachu theerthu.
When kifb was created as a company to deal with the developement projects, the intention of the govt was to project this copany's separate entity for loans as well to escape the gvt from that responsibility. This arguement could have been acceptable had kifb generated sufficient fund to give back the loan other activities

As people like me believe at least 55-60% looting is going on using ooralunkal constructions and almost all projects given through them. Or else there was no chance for state treasury debt going this much times in very short time. Projects were brought for looting public fund not at all for welfare of public as I believe. Best example was Palarivattom bridge construction quality.
