Thank you
Very helpful. Setting this up for a client and this was very clear and easy to follow.
Really helpful tutorial, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you So much, this video was very helpful.
You're very welcome!
Cool Stuff! Finally got it to work.
Thank you!

Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Hope you'll consider dropping a sub to my channel so I can keep growing and making more vids.
Great video man. Very easy to follow. The one thing is how do I make the guest see the things I’m doing on streamlabs like changing pictures. That would be very useful. Thank you very much
Have you run into issues with drooped frames when using zoom? I've been running into issues with this and have dumbed down my settings such as bit rate etc but it still drops frames quite a bit as soon as I start up zoom.
Hey thanks man. How do i get the audio from the other person for a stream as it is not coming through? Thanks!
Thank you. Step 1: Go into the Video settings in Zoom, click the "Advanced" button, Then go to "Video Rendering Method" and choose anything that isn't "Auto" or "Flip." Let me know if that helps any. it's work.
Awesome!!!
Hey Aran, This is great! Will this still work with multiple guests (only being brought on one at a time)? Like people coming on to a show to ask questions live one at a time? If yes, do you have to keep recreating the window for each guest or is this a one time stream thing? Also does the desktop capture not flip to you when you talk through zoom? Thanks so much in advance!
You should be able to set it all up and, so long as you don't end the meeting, the capture will still be as you made it regardless if people join or leave the call. Keep in mind that your crop will need to be adjusted based on the number of people in the call at any one time. Zoom rearranges the placement of the videos based on the number of people in the meeting. Not sure what you mean about the desktop capture flipping?
@@aranhawaii Thanks man! Im just saying in Zoom when two people are talking in speaker view, the zoom when flips to who is speaking and there's no other control of that, that I am aware of at least! Thanks so much for your help!
I have an older macmini partitioned for Windows. I stream on the Windows side. My macmini is a 2011, High Sierra, 32gig ram, i5 processor (1+gig?). Is Zoom the best to use on OBS for live streaming because it less of a strain than Skype of Discord? I can't find the info. Until I can afford to upgrade the mini, this is all I have. What's your advise?
why is nobody developing a better solution. i don't want to set it up every time i go live. so frusttrating :D
What if I am the one doing the transmision and there are 2 guests? Can I do the same? with 3 people in the zoom meeting (one is me but i dont want to be shown in the transmision) so on OBS there have to be just the videos of the 2 guests (with their audios). Can that be done?
Thank you for the tutorial, much appreciated! However, how do you have your guest view the stream? When I used share screen through Zoom it then removed the camera feed from being able to be selected as a window capture in OBS. I had to do a screen capture and take the little camera view that Zoom defaulted to when in screen sharing mode. Is there another way to get the guest to view what is going on? Many thanks!
Try this? imgur.com/a/c48bJyw
What do I do if I am giving a workshop THROUGH Zoom and would like to include one of the other participants for a part?
Many thanks for the video. I added zoom to OBS using the window capture. However, the zoom video window is black. I see the zoom chat box in OBS but the video chat next to it is black. I've switched off my camera and mic in zoom. How can I fix this issue? Thanks

Thanks for the video. I would like to have around 15 different speakers from Zoom in different OBS Scenes. How can I inivite several guests and still maintain a good quality?
Ok so that's very challenging. Everyone's got different cam quality, different audio quality, etc etc. The problem is that if you use Gallery view in Zoom, you'll see all the cams but they get small. If you use Speaker view (or you Pin a persons cam) in Zoom, you'll have one big cam and a bunch of tiny tiny cams. The fact is there is no way in OBS to set up scenes where you have a different caller's cam full-size without massive quality loss. It's simply a window capture, and if you stretch a tiny cam to full screen size, it will be mega blurry. So you have to structure your broadcast with that in mind. Either you reduce the number of participants in the call, or you just have scenes where you can see everyone.
This is pretty cool, any way i can go the other way as well and have obs control what i display in zoom? Id love to use filters and transitions etc for family zoom game night.
Yes! You need an NDI tool that allows you to use NDI as a virtual webcam.
I have been using Zoom for a few videos now, but can't get my OBS to hear the zoom Audio. My audio broadcasts great but my guest can never be heard. I am on a Mac any advice on how to fix it.
I fixed this issue with this tutorial obsproject.com/forum/resources/os-x-capture-audio-with-ishowu-audio-capture.505/
Thanks for the video. I hope you can help . When I screen capture my guest from zoom there is a 1.5 second delay from the video and audio which of course doesnt fly. How do you get the voice to lineup? It is perfect in zoom.
What you will want to do in OBS is add an audio sync delay to whichever input is capturing the audio coming in from zoom (typically Default or Desktop Audio). If you go into your advanced audio settings in OBS, should find fields that let you add in a value in milliseconds. If the offset time you are experiencing is 1.5 seconds, then you need to add 1500ms in the appropriate field. 1.5 is a pretty long time. Usually I only need to add between 125 and 250ms. Perhaps there's some updates to your hardware or programs that might further reduce the delay through improving general performance. Or speedtest your internet connection to make sure your speeds are up to par for streaming. Let me know how it goes. :)
@@bottlecapinvest Thank you very much Aran! I will give this a try later and report back. I could be way off on the 1.5...total guess. Also, do you know how the guest can view the OSB view as well instead of just zoom? He could look on RUclips but there is that 20 second delay.
So here is the other thing. My voice is not delayed it is just the guy on zoom. So if I use my computer audio to capture the voice coming from my guest on zoom it is also going to pick up my voice as well right? I just don't get it how you all can have this working so smooth. The only audio input I had is my Yeti. The only other source is the screen capture where I grab my guest video/audio. So I am assuming you are saying to add another audio input device and make it my computer mic then delay that one? So sorry but I really need help here. Got a stream Friday and I am lost.
@@CfTesla In OBS, click the settings button on the bottom right, then click the Audio tab. In there, set Desktop audio to either Default or to whatever you use for your speakers or headphones - whatever you plan on using to listen to your friend in zoom. Then under Mic/Aux, select the microphone you intend to use for the stream/recording. This should populate your audio mixer in OBS with these two inputs. Now you can control the audio of the zoom call separate from the audio of your microphone.
@@aranhawaii Ok Thank you! I will try that and report back
Let’s say you have more than one guest you want to bring from Zoom to OBS. If you use window capture to bring them in, how do you prevent images from shifting as people jump on or jump off the zoom call?
I was abt to ask the same question.. please answer this @aranhawaii 🙏🏻
You can try pinning by right clicking their cam and Pin or Add Pin. Problem is that it's still always gonna shift every time you have two people in a row and add a third and fourth, etc. It's not perfect but it's a good tool overall.
What keyboard shortcut did you use to crop the frame at 0:45
Cropping in OBS is done with the alt button before clicking
Alan, I'm following your video, and I have one question, do i need two computers or two screens to complete the process. Thank you
You do not need two computers. You might want to have at least two monitors for your one PC.
@@aranhawaii ok thank you,
I have a nice and big LED curved monitor which I was hoping not to have two.
@@JoeDalton If that's the case, then maybe try a layout tool like Divvy (ruclips.net/video/80O5bLNXUi8/видео.html) to get some screens where you can see them alongside OBS in a neat way.
Will this setup work with a Mac? I've having problems routing my audio from Zoom to OBS....
I don't have much experience doing this on a mac. :(
You'll have to get loopback - paid app.
I'm close but it's not picking up the guest audio by using Desktop Audio
Hi there,
So I followed the steps and obs recognizing the zoom meeting when i do a video capture but the zoom video of my guest is all white. Do you know why that is? I hear their audio but no video for some reason.

If the streamer is displaying a chess board to use while coaching the guest, how can the guest see the chess board live without any lag? I had this problem recently while being on a streamer's Twitch channel. I was watching the board via the live Twitch stream, but there was a 7-second lag, and couldn't keep up. How do I see the streamer's board in real-time? Thank you!
Screen share in zoom?
couple of questions/concerns. 1st, the second and third etc users do not see the host? and if they are on a phone, then they cannot see youtube chat? suggestions?
Yeah if you have your camera off in Zoom, they won't see you. You could consider telling them to watch the broadcast (muted, of course), or use an NDI tool that allows you to send the OBS program view into zoom as a Virtual Camera, so they can see everything. And Zoom on the phone is a crappy experience for them currently. Try to arrange it so they can be on a laptop or PC instead of their phone or iPad. If not, and they need to participate in the chat, they may need a second device for that.
I've been getting doubled audio with two guests like this- any tips for preventing that?
You have to keep an eye on your audio mixer in OBS and see if two different inputs are both spiking when someone in the zoom call speaks. If they are, then you need to mute one of the two inputs and see what happens.
Also, you should use recording in OBS to test things before you go live to make sure you don't start your streams with audio issues.
Is there a way to do a Gallery view out of zoom into OBS. I tried this but all I got was a smaller version of my video feed and none of the rest of the gallery
So there are two display modes in Zoom... Gallery mode and the other one that isolates and features one person, and puts the others in a line of smaller thumbnails. You shouldn't have any trouble bringing in Zoom into OBS and seeing whatever it is that you do in it. Just make sure that you haven't cropped the source in OBS before setting up Zoom for your stream, and then crop as needed once you have Zoom doing what you need it to do. You may even have to delete and re-add the window capture source to clear out any bugs that might be affecting you.
Share the screen at the same time in zoom and place the shared screen as back ground so the zoom guest can see the vedio and can react to the shared screen vedio
I want to achieve this
Plz help me in this
Thnx in advance ☺️
How do I conduct an interview then add a guest later? Is it possible to have them on hold or standby as they listen in?
Just don’t have them in some scenes so you can do your introduction, and then bring them in when you’re ready.
When I record my session through obs I can hear my guest talk in my headset but after recording the video I can’t hear her from zoom I can only hear myself from obs? How can I fix this problem
Hey brother, I'm having a pretty big problem and hoping you might be able to help me out. When I open up zoom, it brings the larger window that says start meeting, and then the other window with the actual video. When I go to add a window capture, sometimes it'll give me 1 zoom option, sometimes it'll give me 2 zoom options, and sometimes it'll give me 1 zoom and 1 zoom with meeting ID. No matter how it decides to randomly pop up, it will only give me the box, but never gives the actual video feed. Has this ever happened to you and do you have a solution for it?
Typically, in the Window Capture source properties, you want the selection with the meeting number in the description. "Zoom: Meeting ID 89594994" or the like.
If you aren't seeing that option, then just use whatever Zoom source choice you get. If that only gives you a capture of the Zoom application window, not the actual webcam room, then let me know?
@@bottlecapinvest that's exactly what it was doing. Application window but no video feed. I figured that part out though. Now I just have to figure out the audio part.
@@rodneygreenway982 Glad you found a fix. Share if you think others might find it useful?
What's your audio problem?
@@rodneygreenway982 Glad you found a fix. Anything worth sharing? What's your audio issue?
I'm still working on audio, but for video, add window source, go into settings, change the video option to anything other that "Auto" or "flip." Pick any of the other 3 or 4 letter options and then the zoom window will go from the white screen to the video feed. Now I'm working on setting up audio, but I'm pretty sure my mic will have to pick up the sound through my speakers and cant just pull sound from the application window being used.
I'm not in front of my computer right now so I know I didnt explain the video very good, so let me know if you still cant figure it out and I'll give the exact steps next time I reply
Yes, but, the other person cannot add his webcam to his stream if he would like that, if he is doing the same settings as you do!
How do crop the video? I just can resize the window
Hold the 'alt' key while you resize.
How do you have your stream chat and activity in your obs? is that a plug in?
Go to streamlabs.com and set up the Chat Box widget.
When I go to add the Window Capture option, I see Zoom.exe, but not the individual conference call. What am I missing?
Try this: Go into the Video settings in Zoom, click the "Advanced" button, Then go to "Video Rendering Method" and choose anything that isn't "Auto" or "Flip." Let me know if that helps any.
For Mac users, the window capture is unfortunately slow and low quality, better using the display capture and crop, making sure to not move around the zoom window. Also, Mac has many limitations both for Zoom and OBS, in the video settings.
I can't find hardver acceleration in Zoom app 🤔
How come my sound is echoing from the Skype caller? Is the mic picking up speakers? D I need to wear headphones?
You should always wear headphones when in a webcall.
I am so slow. When he said you got your guess in your Zoom call? He Lost me. If I am hosting with Zoom it gives me a code to send or email the person. That the only way I would have them on Zoom. If I am in OBS where do I get the code to send the person for him to call me? I must be the only person that don't get it. I will keep trying. Thanks
Hey man, great video! Question tho: I followed the steps to livestream via fb with a guest connected by zoom, but I got a huge latency problem once connected to fb (like 15 secs of latency for the video. How can I eliminate or reduce that latency? Thanks a lot!! Great content!!
Now when you say latency, what do you mean? Separation between the mouth of the person and their words? Delay between real-time and the stream itself? Elaborate?
I streamed with OBS today a Zoom meeting on my Facebook page. People kept saying they were not able to hear my guests. Any ideas why that happened?

For me, it shows their camera as a white blank screen. Any fix for this?
Check the notes in the description.
Hi, For some reason I cannot see the Zoom window in OBS, but if I pop-out the 'Participants' then OBS can see that. Any ideas? PS Latest versions of both apps. Thanks
Check the description of this video for some of the common solutions to issues. If that doesn't help, you'd need to contact their support. I've yet to hear of this issue.
@@aranhawaii Have not had much luck with Zoom support, maybe OBS would be better. Think I figured it out though. I use 'Spaces' on the Mac, it seems OBS will only see windows that are on the same Space. Pity as having OBS on a different Space keeps the screen clear. Thanks...
@@stevienichol1008 AHa! Yeah the interactions between Macs and OBS can be tricky.

How do you stop the audio echo
Describe it? Who is echoing?
aranhawaii so I have my mic setup xlr phantom powered. When we get on zoom the zoom picks up my mic and my guest. Causing feed back loop. Is it possible to single out my guest audio? And bring it into obs on its own?
@@TheIdentityBooth If you are hearing yourself back when in a zoom call, first make sure your guest is wearing headphones. That way you know your voice isn't coming out their speakers and into their mic, causing a loop. If they wear headphones and you're still hearing yourself when you talk in Zoom, then you have an issue in Windows or Zoom (try all of this with OBS closed!!!).
aranhawaii so my work around is to silence my self on zoom, then call them on the phone headphone our conversation. Then use plug in to link zoom audio into obs while using my main mic in obs. Testing it tomorrow I’ll give you the results
how to live stream 2 people with instagram story and obs?
You'd need to find a way to get a streamkey from your instagram account to put into your OBS, which would usually have two parts to it: an RTMP url and a key or password. Then in OBS you would set your streaming service to a custom RTMP, put in the url, and then the key.
