Thank you for the great presentation. I use OBS for Facebook livestreams. I've watched several OBS tutorials and you can easily drown in all the setting options, but you made it easy for non-techies and video pros alike.
I have a comment on how to prevent your logo and text from being flipped on the Zoom call. In OBS, under sources, if you right click (or alt click for my lefties) on the Webcam source (the source must be unlocked) and go to Transform, and then select Flip Horizontal. This will mirror your webcam in OBS, and then you will not have to use the "Mirror my video" in Zoom. Your logo and text will appear correctly on the Zoom call, and your web cam will be mirrored.
You don't want to do that though, because then that will flip the logo for the viewers. When you mirror your video in zoom, it's only doing it for you so you can be comfortable with where you're pointing.

Hi Feis, Nice clear instructions. However, this didn't work for me. Zoom saw my OBS virtualcam, but the image was frozen. I've looked around for help, perhaps these instructions only work with the older version of zoom that has less security functions. I've been successful on BlueJeans, Teams, and BIgBlueButton. Has this worked for anyone else?
Hmmm....I'm not sure I can troubleshoot on that. If you are "starting virtual camera" in OBS, its working within OBS and Zoom recognizes it, it might not be OBS. How is your connection with Zoom regularly? I found out that what I thought were camera issues were actually weak wifi signal issues. Unfortunately this may be where I get into the weeds with knowledge!
Thanks for the tutorial. I was able to understand it straight away. I was wondering if I wanted to use PowerPoint and swap between Chrome browser, does that mean 2 separate scenes in OBS?
I found this video second... the first from a self professed techie was ... unscuccessful.. then I found this and it was straightforward and works... thanks...

Hi I was able to case my virtual camera via OBS and get it to work, and add in some logo bugs, but after the zoom meeting starts to fill up with people there becomes a flickering (only on my end) and a delay on trying to access options on zoom. It's like there some graphics problem that is happening. Any idea on how to resolve this?
The whole explanation of finding, downloading and installing the obs virtual camera plugin, is obsolete. Virtual camera is a built in feature of obs now. EDIT: It's still a well done video, I just wanted to provide a heads-up for anyone who did';t knw about the new feature.
@@djspiritjamuzik1272 I don't think so. In Zoom, you would choose the audio source you want, but the audio choices wouldn't include "I'll have whatever OBS is having". :^) And the fact that OBS has a particular audio input in the scene, doesn't mean that choosing OBS Virtual Camera, as your Video in Zoom, will give Zoom the same sound as OBS.

Thankyou for the video Francy made it soo easy to understand after watching others just talk about how hard it is to do. Also there is a new version of OBS that includes the virtual camera. Thanks again.
Well done, you are truly a coach. Thanks for this tutorial, you just went straight to the points with no jargons. It works fine for me just as you said, I have just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good works and God bless.
Using OBS is fun and can lift your brandiing to a whole new level. Heres a few tips I have picked up along the way: As of October 2020 OBS has a built in virtual camera. If you just want to use OBS to give a professional look to zoom dont try to combine audio and video, its a nightmare, even tho there are lots of YT tutorials that will tell you its easy. Just feed zoom with audio direct from source. OBS virtual cam is not compatible with Skype For Business
If you wish to add Audio from OBS to Zoom (say you want to add background music for some reason), then you need to install Virtual Audio Cable from VB Audio (Download link vb-audio.com/Cable/). In Zoom, select Virtual Audio Cable as the Audio Source. Now you can merge multiple audio tracks from OBS and push it to Zoom.
I'm not a fitness instructor, but this is a great intro to using OBS. I'm having issues with the control Virtual Camera control panel not displaying properly, and weirdness with OBS not seeing sources, so I'll give the 32-bit version a try. Showing the use of scenes and compositing is very helpful. Stay safe and healthy!
Very clear presentation for starting out with obs. I watched another video, same topic, and he introduced so many side features that it was intimidating.
question: if you are going to use OBS to Zoom, when in Webinar Mode, do you need to put it on spotlight mode so that the viewers will just only see your feed?
OBS is simply your feed to Zoom, so however you normally have your Zoom settings would be the way to go. Let me know if that answered your question. :-)
From what I understand, you are talking about the Screen Share during the Webinar when you are presenting something. Right? In a fresh Scene, get the actual presentation on to OBS as a Source (Window Capture). Add other elements as you need (including your camera feed as picture in picture). Now, right click on the Scene and select "Windowed Projector", and keep that in Maximized Window. In Zoom, select Share Screen and choose this Projector Window.
