This video is excellent and demonstrates the attention to detail every professional Zoomer (and IRL meeting participant) needs to emulate. The 20 meeting tips are all great rudimentary advice (although, I'd say headphones are always advisable, as they let you use optimal audio settings within Zoom). The shot is framed well. The camera is slightly above eye-level and the room is well-lit. Audio is good. Background is attractive, non-distracting, and slightly out of focus. You're killing it, Fei. Thank you. I just subscribed.
Thank you so much for this! I had no idea hosts can potentially see private chats & I didn’t know about the slide feature during a shared screen. Great list of tips!
I found one important part to remember is that when you share your screen to a website, make sure you don't have any other website tabs open that you don't want people to see, e.g. if you have a tab open with a title like "my health results" and you are not using it, then shut it down. People will look across the shared page to see what else you are working on, even though the actual item is not fully in view. I hope that makes sense. Great tip about the personal messages being recorded too! Thanks.
So many times the lady was talking but I could not understand what she was talking about, using undefined terms by times. As well she talked about muting and such but the scrolling words seemed to say the opposite of her spoken message. She would be a wonderful teacher if we could learn as fast as she talks. She does indeed know her topic. I wish I could be joyous and hail her from the rooftops.
Your emphasis on gentling smiling and demonstrating how to be comfortable under your own skin when on zoom call was inspiring. Also, screen sharing part towards the end was useful.
Thanks for this amazingly helpful video. I'm giving a presentation at the end of the month and really appreciate your great tips. The ones I found so interesting are the touchup feature - whew! The tip that private messages will be recorded for the host - good to know! Making eye contact by looking at the camera - even if once in a while. Something that needs practice. All the tips were great and helpful. I have shared this. Now I'm going to search your channel for presenting PowerPoint on Zoom. :)
Many counselors are using zoom for sessions for people with emotional problems...frankly I feel the web is no replacement for a discussion of how to handle a depression problem. What do you think?
It’s not the same. I use online counseling with video on. It’s def better than not having chat or text alone. In person is great but it’s also a bigger time commitment with travel too
Thank you so much for your 20 tips. I have a unique problem. I have a TBI condition that presents as trying to show interest in the subject by repeating or agreeing verbally. How can I judge on interrupting or over doing my enthusiasm. Is there a rule 21 that would apply to me? I hope that makes since.🙏
Question. Did you use a camera spotlighted on the drawings while you were speaking? I want to show painting demos. On a previous zoom meeting, I used a Webcam and two different computers. But it worked OK. The way you demostrated looked so easy.
do you have any videos of how to dress youtube videos? how to show set up a short video previous to start a webinar as people are waiting? how to show logo, quick links on and off on videos, etc?
That's a great video topic, thanks Gabriel! I'll put it on the list to create soon. Meanwhile you can def use a count-down or share any videos prior to starting a webinar. This can be done by host or co-host, use share screen and make sure video and sound optimization are turned on (lower left-hand corner when you share screen). The screen is the video playing on your end
Thank you, this was helpful! macOS Big Sur makes it easy to temporarily turn off notifications. In the upper right is an icon with a pair of on/off sliders. Clicking that gives you access to Do Not Disturb then For 1 Hour, etc. Speaking of distractions, at some point your computer went into screen saver and I had to exit full screen and put a sticky over it so I could concentrate on the rest of your video. Same issue applies to me with video virtual backgrounds; I have to put a sticky over them to focus on the meeting, then can no longer see that speaker. Best not to use any kind of motion background. Zoom also shuffles videos around when people enter, exit, or start talking, so then I have to move the sticky, which takes my attention away from the meeting.
tip number 4 is quite a luxury back here in my "third world country" when the internet itself is a luxury, lets alone its speed, but I love the rest of the tips, thanks
*Hello Fei. I host a five hour Zoom meeting every Saturday and want to let you know that you have hit the nail on the head with this one. I wanted to see what you had to say. Thumbs up to you!* #BigMacSam was here.
Tip #6: Much easier to hold the spacebar to unmute, say your say and let go! Not the typical look away to find the mouse, then wait for the bottom menu to pop up, then aim and click unmute, . . . . and forget to mute again.
Related to Tip #8, I have proudly developed dozens of Zoom countdown timers you can download for only $2 each or $10 for the bundle. It's awesome, come check them out: www.feisworld.com/timer
When I try to bring select an image, I get the message my laptop does not support based on the specs of my laptop. I don't have a green screen, how do I get one?
Fei, this video is excellent. I like the 20 tips so quickly. Question on #19. When I share my screen with a powerpoint, all the participants disappear. How do I (as host/facilitator) slide the screen like you talked about? Thanks so much - Neil
When we are filming a meeting, the person who comes in the meeting late will have his/her name appears on the screen which ruins the filming. Is there a way that we can allow people to come in late without having their name show on the screen?

Thank you. Just got Zoom and will be teaching very technical class.

Very true, never share full screen - crazy text messages can come in too! I also turn on do not disturb :)
Thank you. I get so overwhelmed, it helps to hear someone so energetic and positive, yet practical.

You may be able to slow down the voice speed. I'm going to do that because I need to hear new info more than once to absorb it.,

Thanks Nizar! I’m still learning and practicing. You are so kind
excellent tips. I want to re-listen to it before choosing my favorite, Very effective.
Fantastic info! This tip was so helpful. I have an event coming up and I want to spotlight two people. Now I know how. Thank you so much for sharing!

Multi camera is super smart. I only had one camera. :) your setup may be better
The 20 tips didn't cover my current problem; how do I get to my windows 11 laptop microphone for zooming?
Thank you for the information.

Wow good to know thanks Shayne!
Awesome video! You were very informative! What lapel microphone are you using? I am trying to find the best microphone for zoom meetings?
I’m using a Neumann mic. It’s not necessary. Regular mics on this page will do. www.feisworld.com/podcast-tools
Thank you so much for your great work, it is very helpful! 🙏
i would like to know more about attention span from Zoom
Great tips and presentation! I learned a lot from you, Fei!
Hi,
i have 3 zoom meeting scheduled for the same time but with alternative host will this work?
