I just discovered your channel because I decided I wanted to learn how painting, and I got very relaxing watching your videos. This one so far it’s my favorite because it remember me how perfectionism has been ruining my health in the last couple of years. Actually I’ve been drawing for 10 yrs and I stopped doing it for 3 years bc of my studies and life , I felt that I forgot how to paint and draw , after two yrs of going back I finally found my passion and happiness while doing what I love rather than make ppl screaming of how much it’s beautiful or the opposite. I realised that it’s my choice to do what I love and to don’t care for others , to do what I want even if I’m busy bc that’s my passion and the reason why I’m still alive ♥️ you gave me such a great energy to go back and that was the fist video I saw in yr channel since then I love seeing your videos . U gave me such a great energy to keep going , I want to thank u 🤍🫂 I’m so sorry for my English but I’m Arabic so I’m non English native speaker ✨
I feel the same currently doing my arts for the transfer portfolio. I can't get my concentration on any little detail. I keep fixing one spot and letting perfectionism drain all my energy. That makes me so happy to hear Rebekah! Hmm, some tips would be to try not to over mix paints together on your canvas and be sure to start with thin layers and work up to thicker ones. Wishing you the best!

Thank you for sharing your process and thought process! I can so relate! Some weeks I feel like I spend more time thinking about painting than actually painting, because I'm waiting for the conditions to be *just right*. But in reality, it's because I'm afraid to start because I'm afraid of making mistakes or making something that I just don't like. But sometimes you just have to buckle down and do it, and I find that when I actually do start painting, it is almost always a positive experience, if not perfect!

Somehow RUclips recommended your video to me. I started watching this video and find it very relaxing. I have been in art for 40 years and I am still exploring new things every time I paint. As you grow as an artist you will start to see that everything you paint will become a reflection of yourself. It will make your paintings mean more and more to you. I think your painting came out pretty perfect at the end. Every painting is a journey. More struggles you encounter during the painting process makes it more rewarding at the end. Ahora, como opinión de un APRENDIZ de Arte (ya que para ser artista, a uno le falta mucho que aprender y practicar y eso lleva AÑOS de estudio y práctica), no busques para tus obras la perfección aburrida del Hiperrealismo y tampoco busques la abstracción casi fauvista por que resulta grotesca.
Cuando es un encargo, debes hacer lo que se te pide pero obviamente poniendo una pizca de tu talento y personalidad en tu obra sino será vacía y desagradable para tu cliente.
Ahora una crítica a tus obras, te falta mucho que aprender y practicar pero vas muy bien, ten cuidado en los rostros ya que si bien son difíciles, no veo que tengas tanta dificultad, solo se más cuidadosa en los detalles y proporciones
Y cuando pintes un paisaje, si vas a pintar montañas te sugiero usar una espatula para generar la textura de rocas. Hay muchos y muy buenos tutoriales
Vas muy bien te doy un consejo dale detalles a las flores 💐
i needed this wow. I've been struggling with perfectionism and low self esteem, couldn't finish most of my paintings cuz when i saw there was a mistake i couldn't handle it. realized it was limiting my creativity and limiting myself from growing. thank you!
Watching mix the paint took me back to my art school days. I always HATED oil paint, but I enjoyed watching your process nonetheless. That dramatic diagonal line was killing me til you made it more subtle. 😂 I also enjoy the editing of these videos and look forward to them tremendously.

It was fun watching you resist your perfectionist tendencies and just start. Both your process and your end result were amazing,...especially since you seemed to be composing a bouquet from your rough sketch and not using a reference. When you were thinking about what it might need, I was thinking "sky holes", which is what Roger Bansemer calls holes he paints into his trees in his plein air landscapes, and later you were adding them,...so I was right!! The botanical inspo field trip was a great idea for both a break and for fresh ideas. You ended up with a nice balance of colors and textures as well as a pleasing floral arrangement. Lucky client!! :)

Thank you so much for another insightful video! I have a 30x40 canvas on an easel right now in my bedroom that I am procrastinating on. It will be the largest painting that I’ve ever done, but I haven’t found the courage to get started. Interestingly, my subject is similar to the one in your video, a still life with a floral bouquet as the main subject. It’s just for my daughter’s bedroom, so no real pressure. However, even after putting a digital composition together, I am terrified to get started. Your video is giving me courage, and your final piece was phenomenal! I’m so glad that you changed your career trajectory. You have a gift for art and video production, and it’s inspiring!

I just came across your video as I was working on a necklace commission and it really helped me through in the most perfect of timing.
