This is without a doubt the most helpful video. It's easy to follow and the things you used are in most first aid kits. Thank you.

This was very very helpful. My dog scraped her paw pad, very superficial. But we did want to keep the scrape clean, so this technique really helped. Thank you

Thank you. My dog partially tore his claw off and the vet said to change the gauze daily but I wasn’t sure how to do that.

My dog split his nail, it has fully come off now, the quick is exposed but has stopped bleeding, we have been washing it with saline and using a pet safe antibacterial powder on it, would a bandage be needed, he hasn’t cried or needed pain relief etc, he is his full happy self. Due to the virus situation our local vets are closed and we have restricted travel. Thank you so much for your videos and all you do, and I understand if you can’t answer!

Hi apply that dog powder only and change its bandage daily . Remove the powder everyday in morning with cotton and apply new bandage powder daily . It will work 100% .

Hi Ciara, glad to hear that your dog is not exhibiting any signs of pain or discomfort at this time. Due to the chance of an infection, it would be best to seek veterinary advice - even if it’s a virtual appointment - to better assess the needs of your dog. Close monitoring is important and make sure that he is not licking or chewing at the injured nail. If any signs of infection are noticed, getting him to an open emergency veterinary hospital may be necessary. Thank you for reaching out, and we hope this helps!

@@ciaram6368 this happened to my husky his nail is split he was licking it but I didn't see any problem I inspected it a few times the last few days he's still walking just fine and then today I finally noticed his nail is split I tried cutting a little off and seeing it maybe if it would pull off and it did not he cried a little when I did that but he's such a good boy. I knew I had to get him to stop licking it so I cleaned it with peroxide and then dried it with it napkin and then I put some antibiotic on it and put a gauze over it and then I wrapped it with like ace bandage so he won't pull it off again my veterinarian won't open until in the morning but I think if he would just stop licking it it would come out on its own and be okay but I will call them in the morning hopefully I can keep him from licking it I don't want to get it too tight and cut off his circulation but he needs to stop licking it I love my dog so much❤

Thanks for the video it’s very useful! My dog’s finger has inflammation, so I need to change gauze at home to avoid dog licking it. Every time it’s exhausting because once I touch his leg he will show his teeth to me😂

I did that , but it took a lot of more time for me to do it then my dog to take it off

The video is not realistic. It would be simple if we all had a stuffed animal. Do it on a real dog that is big, mad, hurting and snarling.
