Never used jiffy, I’d always use Martha white yellow cornbread mix. That never worked out for me really. I’ve been searching for a recipe from scratch and I finally found one!! This was sooooo good! My husband loved it! Thank you Ms. Kita!!!!

To kick it up to another level, eliminate all the sugar! Then you will be able to taste the corn flavor. To me, sweet cornbread "just ain't right." I grew up in the hills where nobody added sugar. I suppose, when you're old, you get set in your ways and prefer the food you grew up on.

First time making cornbread from scratch and I just followed every step and currently waiting on it . I’m excited to see how it will taste ❤ Edit: we just finished eating and my husband and 3 year old son loved it also did I only difference is I didn’t have unsalted butter so I used salted and on a 9x9 pan at 400 degrees for 28 min and came out perfect thank you for this recipe it will be my go to now 🥰🫶🏻✨😊

Thank you, came out great on the 1st try. i did use wheat flower and sifted of the grains and raised it from 1 cup to 1 1/4 cup because of the grains that don't sift through...

And this may sound strange but I like to eat the last few squares when they get a little hard and what I do is heat it up just a few seconds in the microwave and put jam and butter on it to have with my morning coffee 😊…thanks again God Bless ….Brian

Hey, I think this is the cornbread recipe I was looking for. Simple, straight forward and no corn to mess with. I do think I’m going to make it in a cast iron pan, I love crispy edges. I wanna say thank for sharing your recipe. I tried this today and it came out perfect and taste good. I adjusted the temp to 390 for the last 12 minutes then then I keep on brushing unsalted butter when it's almost cook.

Wow, this is basically my recipe. I haven’t seen anyone else put a cup of sugar in the yellow cornbread. The only thing I do differently is a little less cornmeal and a little less milk, but I think I’ll probably start using a whole cup of cornmeal.

Try using brown sugar instead of white, you'll get a more robust flavor profile. That's what I use in mine now. Try it..!!! 😊

I wanna say thank for sharing your recipe. I tried this today and it came out perfect and taste good. I adjusted the temp to 390 for the last 12 minutes then then I keep on brushing unsalted butter when it's almost cook.

I'm saving this recipe. Thank you Kita for an amazing cornbread recipe, I've substituted Splenda sweetener for the sugar. My boyfriend raved over it, already ate 3 pieces along with my homemade fresh vegetable soup.

This recipe works great with my Bread Machine (Zojirushi), substituted half of the sugar with Splenda (12 packets). Thanks, tasted great!

I substituted vegetable oil for the melted butter and it turned out perfect. Fluffy, moist, and sweet like my kids like. This disappears fast.

Wow, this is basically my recipe. I haven’t seen anyone else put a cup of sugar in the yellow cornbread. The only thing I do differently is a little less cornmeal and a little less milk, but I think I’ll probably start using a whole cup of cornmeal.
