How do you like your teams to play in Football Manager? Do you keep possession of the ball? Are you a 4-4-2 zealot? Do you base your style on the squad you inherit? Let us know down in the comments
Don't know if it's just me or what, but listening to Llama's voice is pure joy. His voice is like those in a documentary.
Not sure Mrs Llama would agree with you!
Anderlecht have turned me into a 3 at the back with wing backs kind of guy, Pressing and running all day.
I still can't get a back 3 playing quite how I want it to. I'm with you on the running all day though
Got this idea Club DNA from Foxinthebox back in FM21 ! Great Video
ELITE
great video man keep it up!!
Thanks to watching videos like this over the years I've had to adjust the attributes I prioritize. Generally I like fast, tall players as I want to wear the other team out and beat them to balls in the air. But lately I've started placing mental attributes, namely anticipation, decisions, composure etc.. at a higher priority than the physical attributes. Designing a tactic to fit what you want is obvoiusly required. But also keep in mind that if you start in a lower league, as you work your way up the leagus you may need to adjust or even completely change the way you play in order to better match up with the higher level of competition you'll come up against in higher leagues.
This is brilliant, implementing it right away 👌
More like this please!
Very exciting stuff and the kind of video I love to watch!
Thanks for the feedback. We do indeed have more videos like this to come over the next few weeks
Great video! I've always been a long-career mode player generally with just one club. It's been very challenging to build a profile when starting in level-10 because the players you can attract to the club isn't that great, and then throw in staff and there's even less of a choice. And if you play the game with attribute masking it can be even harder to find the right players.
Love it. DNA is so important.
Thanks
Really nice overview of this and details that I hadn’t really considered. Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks Zilla!
Very good video. This is another step to trying to win matches and just bringing in who you can on a budget. You do need The board / fans on the journey though.
My favorite style of this I ever did was essentially a super soldier style save where after 5-6 seasons I had assembled a squad where every outfield player at every position had 15 or higher for every physical attribute. Absolutely nuts, I'm pretty sure I would've been investigated by WADA if that was a game feature.
Ha - love that. Did height factor in?
@@TheManagersSeat no, height is largely irrelevant because it is Jumping Reach that actually matters. Same with body weight, it's actually only Strength that matters.
@@stephenmason9527jumping reach matters alongside height. someone with 14 jumping reach and 6’1 is probably better than someone with 19 jumping reach at 5’4
Fantastic information. I'd not paid this much attention to behind the curtain stuff for staff before.
Just wait until you find yourself with FM open on one screen and an Excel spreadsheet on another!
great video, straight to the point.
Thank you - we do tell our creators to make videos that get to the point!

Thanks Paul - it's great to get positive comments about the channel
Very quality information
Thank you
Good vid, just wondering if the playing style etc of staff actually makes any difference?
I believe the final Mental attribute in the Man City DNA schedule should be Teamwork rather than Work Rate since it coincides with the Possession session within the training module and it quite literally is indicative of how well players follow instructions rather than Work Rate which is more suited to a Gegenpress DNA
Man City presses a lot too
I always start off thinking that I want to play pragmatically, 4-4-2 lower line with a counter. But always fall into 4-3-3 gegenpress with high possession and flying wing backs and athletic center backs, creative midfielders and fast, attacking wingers....I hope to change some day. 😅 I honestly do hope to change, because to build a squad like this takes a lot of time. I'd like to be more adaptive and versatile with what I got. I played football most of my life in school and the brief time I spent trialing for academies, but I was more athletic than intelligent. Even when we moved to America, I remained the same. You can win the same way in FM, but it doesn't last, specially when injuries set in.
I like gegenpressing. But I will analyse a team I take over that I'm unfamiliar with an look for the best tactic possible with what I have to work with. I don't like going out and buying loads of players to fit a style I want I prefure a tactic that fits the players I have. It shows good management
i’ve always loved watching pep teams so im always i want me teams to dominate the ball
Great video, just how much impact do the backroom staff preferences have though?
I think it depends to some extent on the role of the member of staff. For me, with a Head of Youth Development their preferences are pretty important, as it influences the the type of newgens that come through. I guess it's less important for coaches than for the Assistant Manager, depending on what tasks you delegate, put perhaps it's important for under 21/under 18 Managers too?
Is there any way to make a DNA about outworking the opponents? Some attributes could be Leadership, Teamwork, and Work Rate.
Could you make the squad view downloadable please? Or in the workshop.
I have to base my style on the players I have. Started unemployed, got a job at Wales, have no money, can off non-contracts for £1 appearance fee. So gotta use the squad.
Bro this the guy that does a level business videos wtf 😂
He’s a talented guy!
Great vid! How do you manage to get the bold white dividers in between the stats on the squad view? They’re a really convenient way of making the stats easy to break down
To get the dividers, right click your mouse on one of the column headings and select 'Add Separator'
@@TheManagersSeat brilliant, thank you!
I just do whatever I want and hope it works
Fingers crossed for you
Get Pablo Blanco bro. Then train the players he brings you.
How to see this DNA for my squad. In FM 23 am not seeing an option like that
HIgh quality video mate, i find myself always going to possession/passing/dominating play. I think in FM23 i'm going to take myself out of my comfort zone and try something else.
4-4-2 Long Ball?
is there a download for squad views in the video thanks
You can download the squad views from the 'Downloads' section of The Managers Seat Discord channel

I personally disagree with this video bc if u think about would want play counter attacking football against that are heavy weights no you would want play a possession based football so it's really about balance of possession and counter attacking bc if u play possession against a smaller club they will hit u on the counter attack and you won't be able to stop them bc u hold possession but they nick the ball off you and go for the goal so I personally think u can have a team to play a tendency to one of the two but to have the system about one of the two will only cause you problems
