Thanks for the video--- great help, especially without taking bottom off the dishwasher.
I have one note for the people having difficulty installing the new diverter valve: what worked for me, after 20 minutes of frustration, was wiggling it back and forth--- try screwing it in all the way; when you hit resistance, reverse the motion until there's resistance in the other direction; then repeat. Then, on one forward motion, it just screwed in as expected.
(I'd also note on the Bosch 800 I have, I needed to remove the heater element to take the diverter off. There's a video on installing and reinstalling the heater element. Basically, I just removed it from the silicone strap and pulled it back to give enough room to remove the diverter valve.)
Terrific video--- thanks again.
You are welcome. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
If you think you're going to replace this diverter valve with the same ease as this guy in the video.....dream on. Valve comes off pretty much like the video but from there on it's a nightmare believe me.
Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I didn't anticipate the diverter to be removed from the sump so easily.
You are welcome. Glad we were able to help.
@@appliancepartspros Actually got the diveter out rather easy, getting the new one back in seems to be beating me to death. I placed the new seal on the lip and added dish detergent as well around the seal. I can get the new part up so so close but just not enough to turn it to click in the tabs, any suggestions?
I have the same problem. Any tips appreciated.
Amazing I found your video. It was a journey, but now I know what needs to be done to fix my washer

You are welcome!
Amazing, thanks for the video. Question I see the white diverter plate in the new unit is clocked differently than the one removed, does this matter? Or does the DW index this each time when starting/cycling?
It shouldn't matter how the plate is when you install that diverter valve.
I just replaced my diverter.
1st let me answer someone regarding the diverter plate. I left it alone.
I have one suggestions. Place the gasket on the diverter housing that’s on the dishwasher. If you look closely, there’s a slight groove that’ll hold the gasket in place. The gasket will seal the diverter. Leaving the gasket in the diverter makes installing it extremely difficult. Making me believe it’s the wrong way to install the diverter. Once I did that, the diverter cap was extremely easy to install and turn. Note that the diverter installs one way. You MUST position it correctly before you turn it to close.
If there is anything we can help you with please let us know. Thank you for the suggestion as well!
What does the dirvertavalve do, whats its purpose in the dishwasher
A diverter motor in a dishwasher is responsible for controlling the flow of water to different parts of the dishwasher during the wash and rinse cycles.
It was kind of hard to see some things you did due to the gloves in the way, overall not to bad
If there is anything we can assist you with please let us know.
This is a useless video. I tried everything but could not place the valve in place.
What can we help you with? What is your model number?
Same problem here. This video has a cut at 5:58 where they edited out what they had to do to get the diverter valve in place and able to turn it to lock in place. The only reason to cut there would be that they had difficulty getting the part in place, just like I am. Everything else in the video is all the easy obvious stuff but the one hard part is deliberately cut out of the video. I can get the valve on, and it appears all the tabs are engaging but the value will only rotate half of the distance it needs to to be fully in place. Also, the diverter valve in this video had to have already been removed and put back in place to make the video. It does not just slip right out like that. If there's some trick to get it to seat properly to be able to turn and lock in place by all means leave that in the video!
