    I loved my Elegoo neptune 4 pro. I wish elegoo would enter the core xy enclosed market and make a competitor to the Creality k1 max.

      Rad. Elegoo authorized me to release the firmware they provided so I put it on GitHub: github.com/MandicReally/Elegoo_Neptune_4_Max

      @@MandicReally Thank you for this! I was having terrible problems getting my printer to work because the z-offset kept drifting. This firmware seems to fix that. Now the steppers are really buzzy at some speeds, but I'll take that plus good prints every time over quiet motors and needing to calibrate *every single first layer*.

    Just got the Neptune 4 MAX, but I think I might need to do the firmware update but can't find anything on Elegoo's site.
    I set it up and am having prints that "slip".... not slide off the bed, but throughout the print, the print's layers begin to be off-center. Feels like whenever the bed does a rapid travel movement, it does not return the exact location it should and the print is slightly off.

    • @MandicReally
      @MandicReally  8 месяцев назад

      They sent me the firmware via email. I've submitted a list of issues they need to address & that is one of them (Firmware release).
      The other thing sounds like "Layer Shifting" it is a common issue when you are pushing a machine too hard. Check your belts for tightness. If they are loose the pulley can skip a tooth and cause that issue. Or it could be relative to the print you are doing. If it is hitting the print while moving that can cause layer shifting. Or it may just be printing too darn fast. Using the Elegoo slicer profile?

    • @DroidZombie
      @DroidZombie 8 месяцев назад

      @@MandicReally All good points. It feels like it is being pushed hard, but I'm using Elegoo's slicer, Belts are relatively tight (I have 2 other printers so i'm familiar with where they should be), running the print on Normal mode (not sport) but did let it run on silent as well (which seems to slow it down some). Feels like, maybe a little to aggressive for the size and weight of this bed. But it feels weird to have to manually tune down preset travel speeds to fix an issue.
      The travel speed is bonkers fast, I have two Prusa's and just not use to seeing that kind of speed.
      I'll email Elegoo for the firmware update :) Can you provide which version they updated you to?

    With the Neptune 4pro I had to badger them for the latest firmware

    • @alijah1539
      @alijah1539 8 месяцев назад

      It's very annoying that my Neptune 2S came perfect from the factory no need to update firmware or anything. Then the 3 I had to to spend alittle bit of time troubleshooting Y axis issues and I needed to update firmware. Then with the 4pro It came unusable the same as yours did and If I was a newbie I wouldn't have been able to figure out the problem was the firmware and not hardware or user error.

    Someone help me out here. I'm having trouble believing that extruders and hot ends can push out a cubed inch of melted plastic per second. This is ALOT of plastic in a second. Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks guys!

    • @MandicReally
      @MandicReally  8 месяцев назад

      The math is off in how you are thinking about it. Yes, 25.4mm is 1 Inch, but 25.4mm3/s is NOT 1" 3/s. It is actually 0.00152559 Inch 3/s. At least to the best of my understanding.
      25mm3/s works out to a cube that is 2.925mm on all sides. (2.925 x 2.925 x 2.925mm

    Don't home it first Bro do a bed level let it find Z with its first Probe the bed run 👍🇦🇺

    • @MandicReally
      @MandicReally  8 месяцев назад

      You know the first step of bed level is it homes X/Y right? The reason Z was crashing is that Y was so far forward when it wouldn’t home that the Z probe was off the bed. So Z homing couldn’t work. Correcting X/Y homing HAD to happen before anything else could.

    After seeing the first 2 minutes was entirely wasted on absolutely nothing, I noticed this goes on for 3.5 hours! Seriously? You may have 3-1/2 hours to waste on something that could have been covered in less than 1/10th the time; I sure don't.

    • @MandicReally
      @MandicReally  7 месяцев назад +7

      ... It is a live stream. They are for folks who want to hang out or those who like to just let them play as background noise afterward. I have dozens upon dozens of "1/10th the time" videos you can check out. All of which take a LOT more than 3 hours to create.
