Big fan of the Hotrod hippie and recently came across to the 3d printing channel in the last 6 months. Excited to see the bare bones plans and fit out of the new workshop - it was pretty nostalgic to see this episode, I really enjoyed the episodes when you first moved to Philly. Its how you inovate and realise potential in things that always brings me back to your channels- cheers dude
Your videos got me into 3D printing!Thank you for the tour and all the hard work that goes into your videos I’ve Loved watching this studio evolve. I can’t wait to see the new space and how you make it even better! Excited for your new journey safe travels 🙂
Thanks for the tour! I love seeing how people use their space and what they do to make it work for them. I hope you can make some fun stops along your cross-country trip and that everything arrives safely.
I used to do Shop Tours on HotRodHippie specifically because I wanted to see how other people setup their spaces and show folks options they had. So I definitely understand liking seeing behind the scenes. Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
The end of an era...your videos on workspace organization have been great, and it looks like we might get a few more of those as you set up your new space.
It’s so crazy to watch your life evolve man. First it was the hot rod hippie and I loved the videos then. Then that ended and 3D printing became the focus. Can’t wait to see what Portland brings!
Thank you for the tour and looking forward to seeing the new space, with all the trials and work that went into the old space the new space is going to have a major leg up right from the start.
Yeaaaa, I like to think I’ve learned lessons and will have a better start with the next spot. Then I remember that nothing is ever perfect and it’s still gonna be trial & error. Oh well, it’ll be fun anyway.
One takeaway from the extended tour was that I am glad I'm not the only one who's shop looks like this haha! At times I feel like a straight up hoarder with pathways made to get through all the stuff that's accumulated on every possible horizontal space. Slowly working my way into organizing it so there's a cohesive workflow but it's definitely a challenge.
Oh wow, that's quite a move! I hope it has all gone well already? It was awesome that I got to meet you and visit this shop once, and I'm looking at around 9:32 and wondering if yellow Matco box, 3rd half drawer down on the left is those red hammers for auto body work that you once explained all about to me. Hope everything you didn't take with you found a good home.
I have about 8 printers, including a Prusal XL in a single car garage, so this videos has been really useful to see how you have maximised the space before you move, Really enjoyed it!
Regarding the resin smell, Matterhackers has a resin that isn't epoxy-based. I use my SL1S a lot more often now that I don't need to actively avoid fumes from it. It's a bit harder to use- you need to let it cure longer, and idk how well a standard lifting bed would do vs the Prusa's tilting vat, but I find it works well.
Really impressive studio/shop, cool to see bits of previous videos scattered around. I saw the Ender 3 V3 on the old workbench, is that ever going to make a return after all the problems found on it during the setup stream?
I actually just gave away the Ender 3 V3. It ended up being a wiring issue. The person I gave it to fixed it and gave it to a family member as their first printer. I just did not have time to mess with it for a video or stream unfortunately. And it irritated me too much to want to. ha
Mixture of both but the tools are of course primarily from when I worked on cars. Which taught me to invest in my business heavily. Not the healthiest mindset most likely.
You had to bring that up didn’t you? 😅🤣 Not pleased honestly, but as I develop relationships with brands I go to MC less. Hopefully someday I can catch AMDs attention. 😹
@@MandicReally well that's good. Otherwise you would have needed another U-haul or preemptive purchases. Worst case, AMD is up in Seattle so you can always take a day trip and knock on their door :D
damn.. when most people from the Netherlands like me 'move' it is at most 1 hour from your previous .. you realy go cross country from one end to the other a 42H drive :D Best of luck.
Dude idk if two men and a truck are there but we move everything basically I mean yes it would be very expensive to move but we are time based you would probably get 4-5 guys tho that’s where the price comes in we would’ve moved that and no extra charge just cause it’s heavy your price wouldn’t be too much higher than a regular out of state job because that many guys should be able to do the same amount 2 guys can twice as fast
@@MandicReally I grew up in PA was here majority of my life we left and went upstate New York for a few years and my wife hated it cuz we were away from family till we ended up buying a house and settling here to raise our kids, but now since our kids are older 22 and 27 I want out so bad.... Definitely not a horrible place there are worse places to live without a doubt I just think I've been here too long lol....
@@NoMercyFtw Oh I get that. Spent my first 22-23 years here and I've bounced around for the last 15+ years. Tried upstate NY, that lasted about 6 months, ha. Hoping the Pacific Northwest will be a good fit. It is beautiful country if nothing else.
@@MandicReallyI love it here, but there’s no substitute for a half cold, doughy Philly pretzel from a street vendor. Looking forward to having you in the neighborhood!
God dang it, I'm tearing up. Only knew you for a short time, but the time we got to hang out was legendary. 🤘
Wish we’d gotten to hang more. You’ll have to visit the PNW sometime. 👍🏻
@@MandicReally Absolutely!
End of an era! Happy for you bro and can't wait to see what you come up with in the new space

Have a safe and fun trip to Portland! Looking forward to seeing the new setup and what you build.
I’m daydreaming about the new studio every moment as of late. It’s gonna be epic. Thanks!
We have a lot of great places here you will find useful.... Also have West3d and ProtoPasta so its the benefit to PNW.

Thank you so very much.
Hope you are surviving the hot weather in Portland! Can't wait for the first video in the new space. Plenty of new challenges I am sure!

Sad to see this for the last time, however I am looking forward to the new Studio!!! Great Work Mandic!
Safe travels! As you pass Akron OH, I will wave!
If you have any issues while traveling I am sure the community will easily help out.
Jealous of all that space! Thanks for the tour!! 😊
Wait until you see the next one! It’s not bigger but it is a little different and I think it’s gonna be great.

Very interested to see what you do with a new studio, given the practice and different focus from the get go.
Kudos to Evan(?) for the camera work!
Yea, I’m excited (daydreaming constantly) for the next space and applying what I liked and didn’t like from this one.
Thank you for the Tour!
Happy to show you folks around!

It’s always nice to see what others are doing. I think the next studio printers will go more vertical. I need to take up less space with machines.

This might be a really weird and random question, but did you build custom cars by chance?
Looking forward to your space in portland!
I got some pink abs from the moving sale! Cant wait till we can see the new studio!

Welcome to OR from Bend!
Welcome to Oregon!

Ah! Someone who sorts stuff like me.
I look forward to seeing how you arrange your new studio/workshop.
Evan did just fine with the gimbal by the way.
welcome to oregon, hope you enjoy the stay :)
I'm also keeping my neptune as a storage area now, makes a better storage place than a printing machine
Safe trip! I do wonder always, the gear and stuff you have must have cost a ton, is that all investment from when you built custom cars?
Mixture of both but the tools are of course primarily from when I worked on cars. Which taught me to invest in my business heavily. Not the healthiest mindset most likely.
Love seeing how the sausage is made!
I always enjoy a studio tour, never had a reason to do one of my own so it was fun.
I can confirm that is in fact the studio, still sad to see you go man
Safe moves, loved the little cat cameos. Lol
They are always around, always watching... and waiting...
Thank you!

I some how did. Not see that you started a second channel and missed seeing you on hot rod hippy now I’ll catchup on this channel

Ah, that's the 'accent in your style, custom car builder. 👍
Yep, a lot of the design and style things I do with my work are rooted in my time as a car builder.
So I guess you used to build custom cars? Who knew?
Wtf I was not expecting Portland Oregon to be the next stop!
That is literally the weirdest house Ive seen yet, It would fit in here in Portland
i wonder if Mandic built custom cars
Huh. I wonder if he built custom cars...
Good luck with the move. See you on the other side...rather literally, I guess.
