I really appreciate how you provide a complete mention/list of the tools and materials you use on your projects. This helps us when we decide to do similar projects. As always, fantastic work!!
Thanks so much for mentioning that Lisa. Not many say anything about that but I hope it helps others out there to make their own project easier. Greatly appreciate the support.
Oh my God I am watching from South Africa 🇿🇦 thank you for playing South African song at end of the video . ♥️ Miriam Makeba - Pata Pata…..I Loved you explained everything to the tee.
This is the video I needed to proceed with my stamp overlay project with confidence. Thanks for the detailed explanation of product, tools and processes. And yes, I played Hot Lava as a kid. Still do sometimes!
That's a sweet indoor pool area! This is connected to your house? Overall result looks great. I really like your channel because you take on some pretty difficult projects that a lot of DIYers wouldn't try. Thanks for sharing!
It is connected to the back of my friends house and thanks so much for the kind words Josh. I always enjoy taking on projects that differentiates the channel from others out that. So glad it shows.
Great video and great job on the project with the exception of the miss named tool but its oddly a common mistake. Going to check out the primer for my own overlay. Thanks for the video. When I was in my 20s my dad did an overlay with a tan powder pigment and a walnut spray stain that turned out pretty amazing.
you can add the antique color in the bubble gum release. way faster. 2 birds with 1 stone. and spray mats also. it keeps it from sticking to the mats as i seen in video.
Would this product be useful to cover up an aggregate sidewalk and porch? Or does the original surface have to be completely smooth/flat? Thanks, great video!
looks great! I'm confused though - you spread all the new surface on day one and then were using the mats on day 2? How would it not have set up by then?
Awesome and truly an adventurous job Brent!!! I would be very wary of taking on a job like this but you make it look relatively easy. It turned out great. Keep up the fine work!!!
Truly appreciate the kind words Roger and thanks so much for the support. It is a larger scale project and if you take it on yourself I hope that you have a nice flat and square surface to work off of haha!!
@@BYOTools I wonder if I could do this on my driveway. I’m in the Los Angeles area. Do you know if this overlay would work with our cars and my 4.5 ton truck driving on it would hold up? Thanks Brent!
BIG fan of your work😎👍 I request you to always continue making these amazing video. 😎Love From India 🇮🇳. And yes always remember. There are very few people in this world who are so damn perfect 👌 with there work. Much appropriate man 😎👍😎
Great video! I have an idea to put concrete steps in my backyard but make them look like rock, is a grinder still needed on new concrete? How do I do the vertical portions of the step, is it only a matter of mixing it to the consistency needed to get the Over Eze to set up vertically? Is there a better method/product to doing this?
Concrete Driveway Question... If I don't want to remove my concrete driveway or walkways "cracked and some spots higher". Could jackhammer cut out those areas and fill with concrete? Is there a skim coat that can be poured over concrete? and maybe score the new skim create a design so harder to tell? or What would be the most cost effective way to go about this? Age of the concrete driveway 40 yrs. I don't think there is any rebar used back then. Is there a method that would last at least 10 years and cost under 5k??
Does this work on above ground patios and does it flex? I feel like mine currently has this but it’s raised up and chipped. Some type of fiberglass or something under it
Few Suggestions will make this process go easier. Tint the overlay will make the project last longer and if they concrete is ever chipped or damaged the base color is all the way thru the concrete. Don't recommend stamping wet or softer concrete, we use a stiffer stamp this would keep the edges from curling and sliding around as much. When you do the release you can add your release color into the release liquid or you can use a release powder this also allows you to use multiple colors. With a rough surface you will need to use a thicker roller to pull the excess from the surface. 1st coat you can put down with the sprayer set to a fine mist but if you want to ass no slip then you will need to roll it down trick is to not have much of the Product on the roller and we put it into a paint roller pan and you go the the pan frequently putting small amounts on at a time as the puddles will not clear properly and will eventually fail also.
i thought it was a little pitted too rough, cheap stamping mats and maybe too soon, it was too wet. ii don't think you going to slip more less trip scuffing feet haha
I would highly suggest doing the grinding just to ensure you have a proper bond. You may be able to just abrade the surface but it could lead to a failure down the road. Thanks so much for watching.
Can this go on top of existing driveway that my builder messed up. He hired someone to fix it and he put a thin layer on top. When I would blow the leaves off, off went the thin layer! Then he tried grinding, now my driveway is 50 shades of gray!! Can I do what you did and it won't blow off?
One of the best videos I’ve seen. Really shows the products for each step. I am planning on doing something like this at home around my pool and patio over concrete. I want to do a white pigment and try to stamp it like large tiles or a white plaster look (kind of santorini looking) any suggestion on how to get that look and how to get the concrete white? Thank you
@@BYOTools I love your videos! You know what you need to do and how, and you work smart not hard. I love your videos because you love your job and to film it!
The tool that is being used is NOT a bull float, it is called a FRESNO with rounded edges. What did you do about the expansion joints???? The job turned out well.

LoL! Well that was one of the new skills I learned on this project so you are calling out my newbness on the Fresno haha! Thanks so much for watching.

Way to go on this project Brent. This is NOT an easy process, let alone in a challenging environment like that. Very well done.

I love how it looked terrible when you were stamping, but after the sealer, it looks amazing!!!!!! Great job
I’ll never get those 18 minutes back! BTW, you fucked those people pool side up.
This video is amazing. A step by step process. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Just an Awsome transformation!! You certainly have it together, Brent!!

Looks beautiful Brent, keep the vids coming
Great to hear Carlito and plenty more project on the way :) thanks so much for watching.
Great job! Can’t wait to do something like this in our backyard for pathways or patio areas. I really like wood grain stamps but this is gorgeous.
Great to hear Terrell and I love the wood grain stamping as well. Maybe I can take on a stamping project like that as well in the future :)
On the gauge rake the depth markers shouldn’t be parallel to the rake itself, that’s why you were leaving those deep marks in the overlay.
Shocked this is the only comment on this 👍

F that Brent, I have a pool, and this is exactly what I needed to see🤣🤘🏻
We have old exposed aggregate...a ton of it. Looking for a way to resurface rather than remove. Any ideas? Would this work?
I will buy this stuff because of this video. I have a small deck I'm going to do

How many bags did it take for yours?
Awesome thanks so much for sharing
This is great job done 👍... Which design did you use for this?
On day two, the concrete was malleable enough to stamp still?
Will this work over aggregate patio, stairs and path? I've been told that it will crack and chip in our Seattle weather.

I see you use a Brazilian song on your Chanel. I’m Brazilian and I’m wondering if you know what this song is about it. “ PULGA NA CUECA “
Or you could just trowel the overlay like the stamp and then seal it and you’re done…
