    Hey Tim great video! We do a similar method, our mixes use acryllic binder for an excellent bond. Theres oxides you can get to change the concrete to any colour. Quite beautiful!
    It's all troweled on, theres a certain technique you can do with the trowel to give it a textured finished, looks exactly like natural stone!
    Anyways wanted to share these methods are quite rare but are super underrated!

    Thank you, very informative. I'm planning to border an existing concrete walkway with railroad ties, and I'm leaning toward this style of overlay because it's so thin (I can hopefully do my ties first and not worry about leaving a space to dress the edges). What temperature is 'passable' for this method? I'm in PA, and have been going from 40-60 lately. If you think I need to change my thinking I'm all ears. Thank you!

The concrete deck was coated in the past, and I now believe it was this process, after viewing. So my big question: how could I repair an area that has lifted due to the substrate concrete spalling. Chipping up and feathering all loose first of course. I am just not sure what this product actually is? Thanks!

    Would finishing a patio with something like this provide additional anti-cracking protection? I have a 3 slab patio, who slabs are sloping in. I'm researching leveling options. If I poured concrete (2 inches thick at lowest point, and feathered it out till its even, would doing something like this on top reduce the liklihood the poured concrete would crack of crumble at the thinner points? Looks great, would love to do it, but cant pay $2800 to lift 2 10 foot slabs a few inches..

    Great video and wonderful job. I've been contemplating doing something with my patio and this looks like the perfect solution. However, giving some thought to how well this stands up to chipping by children playing with toys, chairs rolling over it, table legs scraping against it. Is it that durable to handle such wear and tear; especially having the beautiful good looking grout lines. I guess my concern is how long will this stand up to prolong patio use? Nevertheless, wonderful and beautiful work and inginuity.

      It should hold up really well under normal use on a patio. We use the same material on driveways and it seems to do fine. 👍🏻

    We've had pattern concrete guys come out and all have said they don't do this because their experience is that it only lasts 3-5 years even if sealed yearly. Is this accurate? If not I'd like to hear your rebuttal.

    Would this be a good option for a garage floor? (One that is has dirt/gravel road grit getting carried in on tires.) Also, does it hold up to pressure washing?

    • @TimDCVA

      No it probably wouldn’t be good for a garage. I don’t think you could keep it clean.

    • @TimDCVA
      @TimDCVA  3 года назад

      I don’t think HD sells anything that we used in this video. I would suggest finding a decorative concrete manufacturer near you and using their system. Ex: Westcoat, Increte, Elitecrete, H&C.
      The tape is call glass tape or strapping tape. Amazon sells it.

    How much would something like this cost if you were to complete the work yourself? Would I be better off getting in someone to do this type of work?

    • @TimDCVA
      @TimDCVA  2 года назад

      I’m not really sure. We buy materials in bulk, and we already own a lot of equipment needed to do the job. I don’t think just giving you our cost of materials would be much help to you.

    • @TimDCVA
      @TimDCVA  3 года назад +1

      This usually goes down thinner than a self leveling overlay.
      I believe this mix is just sand + Portland cement with an acrylic bonding agent/resin.
