Thank you so much! You totally educated me on cement stamping which I was considering for my tired porch. Now I know what to say to a contractor. Much appreciated!
This video was super helpful. I have a stamped concrete driveway that needs some TLC. So my interest piqued @10:10. Semi-transparent stain! Going to get some now!
Would have loved to see this done in an interior room where you don't have easy access around the edges of the project. Otherwise, I'm addicted to your videos. As a former faux finish plasterer/painter , I'm absolutely mesmerized by the texture/viscosity of your products. Can't wait to get my hands on some of it to try it out! Great videos!
Wow! Fantastic! You're very detail oriented. I catch a spot that needs attention and you're already on it. Please use my patio and steps for your next DIY video. Lol!
If someone’s young was to do work at the house I would need all sorts of reassurances and references But then I would see this and be all apologetic Awesome job Liked and subscribed I want to do a small path on a slope Probably need three levels to be safe than one incline path
@@GlobMarble I live in the San Gabriel Valley area in California. Who would you recommend contacting. I usually like getting 3-4 quotes. I need to resurface/repair, then be able to do stamped concrete afterwards. Liked the pattern you used. It's exactly what I'm looking for my patio.
Love this idea seems a lot less expensive than tile. I’m wondering if method is nonslip? I’m looking for an inexpensive tile alternative without having to worry about it being slippery when it’s wet.
Thank you that is really awesome, they look so real, great job. Do they also give some kind of instruction step by step when you making a driveway. Thanks, again.
Thanks!! You can check the description for every tool and material I used, but here is our full selection of stamping mats- globmarble.com/stamped-concrete/
How does this work for exterior concrete walkways and the frost heave for freezing in winter? I expect you would have to do areas in slabs with breaks or it would crack the first winter. (We get -40C winters)
I'd like to know how long this would actually last over an existing concrete patio before it starts cracking and chipping up! Btw, it's a brand new patio done by the city. They replaced gas line and had to redo patio.
Very nice work. I would like that on my driveway, in a Terra Cotta Color. The question is will it crack due to vehicle weight. And color last to Texas Climate.
That would look really nice :) It wont crack as long as you have a sturdy concrete driveway underneath the overlay and you give it at least 7 days after pouring for heavy traffic like cars. The colors will retain if you use an acrylic sealer which is made specifically for those purposes- globmarble.com/decorative-concretes/concrete-sealers/acrylic-sealers2/
This is a really video. I too am impressed by the depth of the texture possible from theses mats and this process. I would go with a more grey + brown/copper look as is the stone look of my location in the Caribbean. Can this process be applied to vertical walls? What would be your suggested adjustments to the process?
Those colors would look very nice. For vertical surfaces there is a different process and different stamps available. Here is a link to our wall stamp video- ruclips.net/video/-0Soi8eSdXw/видео.html
I like the colors you used and the way it turned out but I prefer greys more. I was wondering if you have ever tried to make a concrete marble floor. I mean with the marble running through the concrete. I have searched the internet but only find people using epoxy to make their concrete floors look like marble.
it's pretty hard to make look like marble large area of concrete because pigment will get blended with concrete during the pouring. You'll have to smooth out the concrete surface with floats. Floating will blend the pigment more.... Mush easier to marbleize casted panels. We'll record marbleizing concrete panel video soon.
Unfortunately, we do not offer training courses anymore, but this product is surprisingly beginner friendly. Since it's an overlay, you can try to do the same thing in the video for a sample and not have to pour a whole slab of concrete :)
@@GlobMarble oh they have a powder stain all different colors to put on it they sell it by 5 gal buckets at amazon you pit it on your stamp shake the exsess off then stamp it iv seen some on here do it and it looks like its stained in different places
Ohh that's powdered release agent. I used a liquid one instead because I am indoors and don't want to make a mess :) If you are interested in the colors we offer you can check them out here- globmarble.com/stamped-concrete-colored-powder-release-pail.html
Concrete cracks are prevented by making control joint cuts in concrete. Re-cut the control joints where they were on the original slab, and you will be fine
Thanks for the great video. Does the finished product always have to be shining? I am in a process of turning a small parking area outside my restaurant into a patio do you suggest this for a heavy traffic places? Also what price do they usually charge? Thank you
You can definitely use the surestamp on your patio. We also have a matting additive you can add to the sealers to make it less shiny. Contractors charge differently based on your location, but they will probably charge you less for surestamp because they wouldn't have to rip out the existing concrete and pour a new slab to stamp
Very nice work! Gauge, as in the rake is pronounced like "gage" with a soft g. I thought you called it a gog rake which threw me off a bit. Otherwise, your demonstration/instructions were excellent.
What a great video, sweetie! I love the color(s) you used or I would possibly use a slightly lighter "tan" for our front porch. One quick question. What do you do with regard to VERTICAL surfaces? I would love to do this for our porch but then we'd have 8"-10" inches of ugly vertical concrete on the very front. Thanks for such a great, informative video!!! 🏆
Thank you!! We also have many vertical stamps that can be found right here globmarble.com/stamped-concrete/wall-stamps/ The vertical wall stamps are smaller and easier to use, but in theory floor stamps could also be used vertically if you have enough people working on the wall. there is also a specific way of stamping, and specific materials needed for vertical stamps. you can find all about that in this video- ruclips.net/video/-0Soi8eSdXw/видео.html&
We used to offer classes but covid hit and everyone stopped offering classes along with us :( The easiest way to learn is to try a sample board like I used in the video. That or go work for a contractor

If you use the stamp for an indoor floor and you do not want to have the grooves, what do you recommend? Still the sealer?

Nice work. how thick is the slab? how much is the approximately cost of this finish. I mean per square foot.
Are u adding any concrete flow control to the concrete or was it just your standard cement bags and mixing just as is?
I only used our Surestamp bag and modifier
Great job!

Good job

Centre concrete layer for stamping is so thin will not crack or crack when the car or truck is driving on top of it?
Nope, this mix is designed for existing slabs of concrete, including driveways
good work, I believe staining the grout would have made a difference.
You could always do that, just make sure to be careful not to go over the edges. Also it would be very time consuming on a full sized patio.

Yes but then you'll have a two toned 'stone'. You're better off doing the stamp sections themselves

The SureStamp is designed for a thin application like this, even on driveways. Using regular concrete in the same way would never work.

Exactly!! And then you will use a skin mat to make sure the concrete is fully textured
Just a little confused. Would this crack with it being such a thin layer?
Concrete cracks are prevented by making control joint cuts in concrete. Re-cut the control joints where they were on the original slab, and you will be fine

Yes, But first you need to make sure the sealer is stripped. Then stain, and later seal again
