Just did this trail today with two other rigs. loved it! We also added Little Wild Horse Canyon Loop as well. Camping right now below that first tech section. We also visit iced the mine and the car that blew up.
Always a good Monday when you post a new video! Wild seeing you at almost 350k subscribers, remember when you were going for 10k! Keep up the good work, your cinematography is some of the best on RUclips. Thank you
Next time you are in UT, go to White Rim trail. Its even better. You need permits (which are cheap) and you will rarely see anyone else out there on the trail.
Living and wheeling in Utah I sometimes forget just how amazing our playground is. I’ve done this trail a few times and enjoyed “seeing” it through the eyes of someone for whom this area is not “every day” scenery. I was in this area for the annular eclipse last year. It was incredible.
Sadly, the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA) has been successful in getting a lot of motorized trails closed in Utah. On a funnier note, I love that the Canadian is leading the group on a trail in the USA and thanks for the shots of Brad negotiating the harder sections, our JT's are set up very similar and it is great to see how Trail Doc handles things ;)
@@TheStoryTillNow At the rate they are going there won't be very many motorized trails left. The mayor of Moab has been working hard against the off-road community as well.
Moab is unreal I will definitely be kicking down some money to the blueribbon coalition they fight to keep trails open. I was in Moab in February and was blown away again how amazing the place is.
This was incredibly well done! Perspectives from the average citizen, providing context to the issue with the statistics, legal perspectives as to why it happens. And then allowing the drivers to tell their side of the story without making assumptions as to who they are and why they do it. Kudos Tommy!
Awesome video as always Shaun. Moab is such an iconic place for anyone who seeks adventure and epic trails but everyone pack in pack out respect the trails so we can keep them open for everyone to enjoy. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
I stayed clear of the Moab EJS crowds but I was in the swell around the same time you were. I passed Temple Mountain early afternoon at about 50 degrees, then a bit farther west I went through a couple of dark clouds with sleet and the air temperatures dropped to 33. After that it cleared up again.
Lance, ALWAYS bring a fuel can. ALWAYS, attach it outside the vehicle if at all possible. Great video, I am digging seeing my personal favorites collaborate with each other. ❤️
You, Brad, with excellent video & stories; Behind the Reef has some wonders. Two huge canyons were to the N of you, Crack & Chute; to the N of the Sinbad loop Tomsich Butte, where the start of the Muddy Creek Chute is; S of Sinbad loop the road leads to Hidden Splendor (old uranium mine) & the bottom end of the chute, where people raft, float and walk that wondrous corridor. To the SW & SE of Hidden Splendor are multiple technical canyons (often with water) & S of Hidden Splendor the reef opens to disclose massive Factory Butte. There are multiple knobs and formations which folk scramble or climb & below the Behind the Reef Road is the route to Bells and Little Wildhorse canyons, which are famous. W of there one can cross the Muddy, then swing S on the W flank of Factory Butte & catch the highway, and then, shortly to Hanksville. Thanks again for your sterling show, tribute to nature and showing (some of) the wonders of the SR Swell. The old uranium miners, late 40's early 50's left remnants (& roads) which allow the public passage into some of these areas.
My friend what a trail. I was hoping to make a trip to Utah to go wheeling for the first time all the way from Virginia here in the next 2 weeks and after watching your video and Brad's that's the trail I want to experience. i would love to meet you guys and experience that trail with you guys but since you were just there, I may to wait till next year. Awesome video
Combine Temple mountain, spits you out at the start of Behind the reef, for an even more scenic route. Great video cant wait to get back down there. Thanks for the ride along
If you want to put those rigs to work in the Swell, run The Devil's Racetrack. It's the most challenging regular trail I know of in the Swell. Just ran it yesterday. Lots of rocky fun.
Ok, from the cabin/mine: did you head North route 854 & loop up north and East to the 1012 back to Temple Camp area to exit onto HWY? From the mine, the map shows ATV trail to South, we skipped it and looped North. But there's a ton of small trails in there. I'm thinking of going back and heading South from that cabin, trying the ATV trail in my JT. and or 1012 to South.
As I was watching this incredibly scenic trip, I couldn't help but think if anything terribly wrong did occur, Matt's Off Road Recovery wasn't to far from you.
Awesome views and epic trip forsure! Shaun question for you - Curious why you don't run a snorkel set up on the trail destroyer? Assuming because of the engine swap? I live on the east coast of Canada on Newfoundland and we get alot of rain and similar weather as you guys out in western Canada, rivers are high most of the year so water crossings are common. Sick video as always man
Check out Brad picking up some trash or something off the trail! Dude took more action in two seconds towards real conservation and preservation than the ones trying to shut down trails ever will. We don't go explore because we don't like nature. We love this stuff and want to preserve it. And pictures in encyclopedias or videos online never do it justice. You have to see it with your own eyes, feel the crunch of the ground under your own feet, and the ancient winds on your face to really appreciate it.

The biggest threat to public lands access in Utah is the State of Utah. They want to see all federal public lands turned over to them so they can sell it off to the highest bidder. Do some research.
