I love seeing you and your wife on these adventure Brad! It's nice to be able to have these type of experiences with your love ones especially out on these adventures.
@@regenakowitz yes, the lovely and the remarkable driver of her is unforgetable too. All the best to you guys, keep the rubber side down, good luck out there and cheers.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate both of you. Having a spouse that shares and supports you in your life’s pursuits is SO rare! At 65, I’m going the way I feel I must. You are so fortunate.
Fantastic video....our group of 4 jeeps just ran 7 Mile Rim two weeks ago on July 16th...it was the first time for all of us as well, and we were SO happy we did it....what an amazing trail!
WTG, Regena!!!! You did a fantastic job handling the various obstacles. It is a real pleasure to see both of you out on the trails and sharing the adventure and having "spouse time". I can't wait to see more of your adventures, so until next time... Travel safe.
Nice. Regena did awesome on that drop. Omg, that’s steep, she had a right to be nervous. Thanks to this vid, I added this trail to my list to do in July when my girlfriend and I head down
I would stop many many times to appreciate the views and just soak in the outdoors being in such a beautiful environment, it would take me forever to do that trail. 😂
7 Mile is my wife’s favorite trail. We’ve done it every time we go to Moab. Monitor and Merrimack are awesome. And we always do lunch at the Uranium Arch. It’s a 7 hr trail if you keep going to Wipeout Hill.
Hi, never did the Seven Mile Rim but after riding along with I would definitely put this on my bucket list. My wife and I did our first Moab trip, with friends and family, in 2012. Then back in 2015, 2016 and 2018. For us Moab is a special place. Thank you for the video! Stay safe out there.
That moment of going over an obstacle you’re questioning your original decision to is both exhilarating and creepy as all heck, but great to see you both out enjoying the trails and the moment, thanks for sharing!
Took my wife and her new JL to Moab a couple years ago. Went to Fins and Things and I made her drive while helped guide her. She had never driven off road before. Scared herself a couple times but she did great. We'll be back and I'll look to do this trail as well.
That was my first moderate trail! Brad led the way in his Jeep while I drove mine. He calmly talked me through everything on the radio, which was a massive help. He's the best teacher!
Thank you so much! We are having fun and making up for lost time...Brad was deployed a lot during his 26 years in the Navy. And next month, we will hit our 29 year mark! Congrats on your 30 years!
Did some of that trial as it is part of the Backwards Bill Trail. We saw the Jeep folks setup there for EJS near Whipout Hill - now that is an obstacle that has high scare factor. Great to see both of you out together and when my wife comes with me it is awesome like this year at EJS. If Regina keeps taking her Jeep on these harder trails I think the back bumper needs upgrading or it is going to get pummeled coming off ledges etc.
It’s such a treat to see Regena’s journey of learning her jeep and building her confidence. I enjoy the genuineness of how scary some of those trails are and that she isn’t afraid to show that growth. You got this girlie 🎉😊
I agree Utah is extremely underrated. I have been all over the west and lived in Montana for a while and though it’s beautiful, I’ve not seen anything that compares with the state of Utah. It’s breathtaking.
Good to see Regena out and about again, she is actually pretty awesome behind the wheel (you'll soon have some real competition there Brad!) and I hope it encourages more women to get out and do some tracks!
@@regenakowitz it is always good to see slow careful thought out driving, he is a good teacher and great spotter, you can't go wrong with that. Your jeep doesn't look like it is any harder to drive on the tracks than Brads. 😁
I can only dream of going on back country trails as having a Jeep or any 4x4 is too expensive for my budget. So I sit here and dream of going to the back country, especially Moab Utah. Glad to see your wife is all in and learning to drive those hard trails with you as her teacher. I'd want to learn from you as well. Great work.
Very cool trail, I’ve been on 7 Mile Rim Trail. Was enjoyable! Every Moab trip, 7 Mile Rim is a must for me along with Hells Revenge, Poison Spider/Golden Spike and Fins and Things.
I’ve done 7 Mile twice in a rental Jeep. Great views indeed at the canyon rim. Both times just a few rigs out there. Almost Had the place to ourselves. Uranium arch and the steep crawl in/ out make quite the pucker factor. The off camber turns can be a bit scary. Many people never heard of it, glad to see it getting some love.
I have yet to finish the video (paused for this brief moment). I love Regena's input… somehow I just connect with her. She lets me know that it's okay for us (women) to build up a Jeep and go wheeling or overlanding. Plus the refinement of a nice camp and good cooking, come on!!!. Regena reassures us that it is okay to do this, I can't explain it. Thank you!!!! P.S. Can we get a gathering with Regena and Cara (Ozark Overlanding)??? Looked like great fun! My wife joined me in the Ozarks a week ago - she drove solo in her JLUR 4xe the whole trail. She had so much fun and gained so much confidence! It’s great when she joins me on adventures. I may hit Moab this fall - you’ve given me a new trail to target (was thinking Poison Spider - but that rim trail looks way better).
some day we hope to make it to Moab. I have been in the area some 30 years ago and loved the sceneries ever since. What a rad trail this is. Awesome job Regena! Great spotting Brad!
These Moab vids have got me planning a couple of trips out there with my wife. She's not the trail driver Regena is, though she has driven my JL on some easier trails and a few water crossings. She's happy being the Co-Pilot and passenger princess. Thanks for sharing. Regena could start her own TrailRecon spin off! 😉✌
Haha! Don't think I'm quite ready for that but I do appreciate your vote of confidence! I was good being passenger for a while, but then I realized Brad was having all the fun. 😊
I gotta tell you Brad, you hit the jackpot when you married Regena. Regena is super smart, remembering the names of the first two battleships and she drives a jeep better than a lot of men. What else can a man ever want in a wife.
We decided to do this trail based on your assessment of the trail. At 15:48 you gloss over a part of the trail that some would consider unnerving. You didn't show the pitch and roll at that point of the trail, which we noticed was 21° roll and then combine that with the downhill portion that put you at a 26° pitch. That combo was freakin scary!! We did it and we prayed the whole time. I think maybe showing something like that in more detail would be helpful to those that are watching your videos looking for ideas for trails to conquer in Moab. We did it, with no issues, but it definitely freaked us out at first.
This was an enjoyable video! Great scenery. Great narration. Great editing (I dare say outstanding!). Seeing Regena's expressions as she went down that obstacle. Being able to express what she was feeling while doing it was fun, exciting, and SO relatable! Great job on conquering that (and Top of the World the day before!). I'm sure her confidence has skyrocketed when it comes to those obstacles. But probably what hurt most was saying that Brad was probably right about lift and tires. LOL Either way, please keep these videos coming! We visited Moab last year for the first time after hiking Rim 2 Rim in Grand Canyon. We didn't have our Jeep, so we went with Epic 4x4 Adventures and drove a Kawasaki side by side. It was a blast, so seeing and talking about the trails we did brought back LOTS of fond memories from our trip last year! Thank you for all you both do! I have to admit, my wife and I love watching the adventures you get to do together as it provides different perspectives. But all these adventure videos are SO fun to watch!
So jealous, bro! Jim from Temecula! My brother and I plan on attending next year for sure! Awesome to see you two having a blast! Hope to see ya on the trail soon.
Awesome work Regina, super proud of you getting after it. My wife and I will be out there later this year and she’s committed to bring her Jeep as well. Can’t wait for her to challenge herself like you did.
Great content Brad and Regina! Great way to start my Friday morning :) Making me wish I still lived out West. Here in NC there aren't very many trails open to public which is unfortunate.
Just caught this video. Glad you found 7 mile. Great trail. One of my favs. BUT... you seem to have missed Uranium arch and you missed wipeout hill!!! Now you have to go back. Lol.

Hey brad! I stopped by said hi at overland expo in colorado last year. Happy to see you two do this trail! I took my wife, and her friend and husband on it for Thanksgiving couple years ago...we found it to be a fantastic ride like you two! However, when i read your title, I thought for sure you were going to be talking about the "Tippy Spot" an off camber (maybe 24/26 degrees?) section just after burnt toast (the section you drive through two rocks) we were so scared..we backed out. I am on 37"s. 2.5" lift in a JT and had a tent on top, the length of the JT helps, but being off camber and having turn and be so top heavy, it was scariest ive done. You two do that part or drive around? thanks!
My wife and I just got back from Moab UT and we did the seven mile rim which was awesome, but you missed some very fun things to see on that trail. You explained you missed uranium arch, after going between monitor and merrimac (which is amazing slickrock), then the squeeze between the two rocks (which you experienced), you did not talk about Wipeout HIll obstacle, hopefully you saw Determination Towers is in movies/commercials, you missed tushner tunnel, you missed the dinosaur Bones, portions of the trail are very sandy which is nice, a portion of the trail has water from a nearby spring, I think you missed a lot. In the AllTrails app, the trail is known also known as Monitor and Merrimac trail. I enjoy your videos, hope you keep doing them - any comments?
Glad you guys had a great time. We actually went to wipe out hill and tusher tunnel the following day with another group. There are lots of great places to explore in the area, but technically Wipe Out hill is its own trail and are not officially part of the Seven Mile Rim route. Thanks for your comment.
I am so glad to see you guys doing the hard trails now. I’m really happy that Regina is doing them also! Maybe she will get the bug too. I did notice in this video you said you used to be a bronco owner. I noticed you said that about the power wagon in a different video. So I guess the bronco and power wagon are gone. I missed where Regina got terrified. Did I miss something?
About WHY the Merrimack and the Monitor. There is a point on the trail you can stand between them both. The shape of the rocks where they face each other look like the bows of two ships. Yes, it does take a little imagination, but you can definitely see them as ships heading your way.
I'm curious as to what type of set-up you have regarding your spare tire ? Do you hear any shaking or rattling ... would you do anything different as far as location or hardware ? Happy Trails and safe travels .....
I've only been able to attend one EJS, and that was in 2015. I did 4 different trails in my 2000 XJ, and Seven Mile Rim was definitely my favorite. Sorry you missed the Uranium Arch - not as spectacular as what you see in Arches NP, but cool nonetheless. Hopefully you got to drive the crazy off-camber arc just before the Monitor & Merrimack! Thanks for posting - it really brought back some great memories!
Hi Brad and Regina, I am heading out there with my wife and was thinking of this trail BUT we both HATE shelf roads. How bad was the shelf road part? Is the trail out and back? If so how long did you take out and back? Thanks for the videos!
It was an out and back, at least the way we did it, and the time we took to do the trail doesn't equate to the way most people will do it...we were filming so it took as a lot longer than it would take the average person. And the shelf road was not too bad, just at the beginning and nothing crazy. Brad and I both hate shelf roads too, so I get it!
Brad, do you have a page that lists the specs for all of your Jeeps? That would be helpful for folks wondering if their Jeeps are set up to handle the trails you are running.
I don't, but something we may be adding to TrailRecon.com in the future. Here is the latest update video I did.. only a few small changes since this was filmed: ruclips.net/video/iibZ1r15uK4/видео.html
Regina rocked the shit out of the 2 door, she looked like a pro 👍

Someone type up a SOQ package for Regina. With that kind of naval history knowledge she’s a shoe in 😂
LOL!
😂 Unfair advantage having been a Navy public affairs officer and someone who just loves history!
I've always enjoyed a challenge! She was pretty scared during that last big drop where you can see me spotting her... just listen to her voice!
That last decline was pretty harrowing! I think Brad edited out my squealing! 😂
@@regenakowitz That's funny! 😂😂
About WHY the Merrimack and the Monitor. There is a point on the trail you can stand between them both. The shape of the rocks where they face each other look like the bows of two ships. Yes, it does take a little imagination, but you can definitely see them as ships heading your way.
Cool! Thank you for pointing that out.
We love your channel. Where can I find Regeenas recipe for chicken nuggets? Getting new recipes together for this summer camping.
Thank you! She has posted several recipes on our blog and more to come:

And the Panko Chicken Nuggets are one of the recipes I've posted on the blog! 😊
Love seeing the 2 door. Regina if you could drive just one jeep in Moab would it be a 2 or 4 door Wrangler and why? Thanks
If someone ends up scared but you are able to drive out under your own steam at the end of the day, I will call that a successful adventure!
I'm curious as to what type of set-up you have regarding your spare tire ? Do you hear any shaking or rattling ... would you do anything different as far as location or hardware ? Happy Trails and safe travels .....
you missed so much on that trail, like you said the arch, then there is a cave to walk through and there is a cool sand dune to play on..
How would you rate the level of mods to the two jeeps, 1 - 10. What is next for the 4 door for upgrades? Keep up the nice work.
The Rainbow! Yes, we drove it!
Nice !
Brad you made a comment during this video that you "used to have a Bronco". Does that mean you got rid of your Bronco?
Yep, sold it last year.
I so wanted to head out that way to EJS this year but with my wife and her bad hip, it just wasn't meant to be....
Hopefully you guys can make it out next year and hope she is back on her feet soon!
@@TrailRecon We will see after the 19th of June and the hip replacement surgery goes. !!!
Oh no! Hope your wife gets better!
Great job Regina. Hey Brad what fenders do you have on your rig?

Thanks!
@@TrailRecon I actually went there first hoping to find the information.
Do you still have the Power Wagon? That was an awesome setup you put together!
Brad sold the Power Wagon last year. We just weren't using it as often as the Jeep and trailer so it didn't make sense to keep it.
The Bronco looked toed in, may have broken a tie rod…😢
Is Ragina going to give you the green light to move here to Utah Mr. Brad?
🤷♀️
