Ralph Macchio plays Daniel LaRusso in Cobra Kai, a role he originally played in the first three Karate Kid movies. He also voiced the character in the Cobra Kai video games. He is also known for his roles in How I Met Your Mother, My Cousin Vinny, Ugly Betty, The Deuce, Psych, The Outsiders, and many other roles.
William Zabka is Johnny Lawrence on Cobra Kai, reprising his role from The Karate Kid movies. He is also known for his roles in National Lampoon's European Vacation, Back to School, Hot Tub Time Machine, How I Met Your Mother, Psych, The Man in the Silo, and many more.
Martin Kove portrayed John Kreese in Cobra Kai, also reprising his roles from The Karate Kid movies. He is also known for roles in Death Race 2000, The Edge of Night, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Cagney & Lacey, Red Sky, The Goldbergs, and many more.

I actually believed Martin Kove was Kreese in real life that it would shock me to hear in other interviews, Kove talking about the late, great Pat Morita with such kindness and reverence.

When they were filming the original movie they had to tell him to quit smiling during scenes because apparently he just smiled a lot without thinking about it.
I love all these guys. When Johnny said you are alright Larusso, was the biggest foreshadow of what was to come all these years later

Also, when Kreese broke Johnny’s second place trophy and told him he is off the team. That was foreshadowing of how his life was going to turn out. And that Miyagi came to his defense but showed mercy for Kreese.
I actually wanna see Ralph and William in a cop movie. I think that will be funny
I cannot believe that Ralph is in his 60s...he looks so young. Billy's younger than him but looks older haha
Martin is so good at being the heavy in this story. I hope that Kreese can get things right and have a relationship with Johnny again.

A joy for me was finally seeing Daniel and Johnny sincerely come together. I'd been waiting for that since the beginning of Cobra Kai.
This series evolved into the greatest thing that even the creators did expect in the beginning!!! ❤

I don't think Martin Kove actually breaks character when the cameras stop rolling. He really does try to stay quiet and passive. Kinda creepy, lol
I cant believe Johnny congratulated daniel at the end for beating him in the final match.
I think the writers were trying to show that Johnny had a sympathetic side to him. That he'd been corrupted by Kreese. He even admits that himself in Karate Kid 2

It's the best time to end the series. Cobra Kai is mega but it has to end at some point. We've completed the Karate Kid universe, only missing what Cobra Kai left open at the end. But that doesn't mean that there might not be a Cobra Kai Next Generation

What Ralph said about Pat Morita is 100% true. If it wasn't for his acting and delivery, and on screen wisdom, we would not have had the Karate Kid we remember and love today. Thank you Pat.

I'm 45 years old. I am an (mostly) intelligent man. I know the difference between real life and the movies/TV. But I can't be the only person who still sees it as very odd when Macchio hugs Kove lol.
i would have asked Ralph what it was like to work with Chozen again -- because Chozen was such a vital character in 2 and they brought him back and now joined forces with Daniel -- curious on there thoughts on him coming back and being such an impact on the show and in the legacy of the character of the movie -- Also, how much karate they all know in real life -- curious if they knew character or forms of it in real life
I love Johnny Lawrence, his character is so badass and endearing at the same time, never fails to make me laugh especially with his tech "skills"😂
I love this series and especially Ralph Macchio. So sad it's coming to an end.
They never said it's ending. It's currently on hold due to the writers strike but they already started writing season six when the WGA approved a strike.

The writers said way back in the beginning that it was about a 5 to 6 season series. They confirmed that season 6 is the end.

Ralph Macchio said it hot blue and righteous. Pat Morita was the guy that made it all happen. His character was and still is the cornerstone of this franchise. Having said that...Johnny will always be my favorite sensei.
I was born in 83 so I was able to see the original karate kid once I was old enough and I fell in love with it and as much as I love those movies and the show I feel like the show should end after season 6 while it's still on top otherwise it'll get stale

A show becomes a hit, they cancel it, meanwhile useless shows are going longer in seasons.

They are writing more seasons. He said they already started writing season six but production is currently on hold due to the WGA strike.

Does anyone notice how their hands keep disappearing when they reach across? and look at the words on the back wall that are all misaligned.
That's because they were spread out on the stage, and we "moved" them closer in post so you could see them more clearly. Otherwise, they would appear much smaller in the video.

@@antimediaman9354 I don't think it was 3 separate cameras. I think they just took the original video and spliced it in post production.
Correct. We shoot in 4K and produce in 1080, so we can do such things without losing resolution.
William and Martin did a martial arts movie called,shootfighter its good
The Karate Kid is basically a modern day version of Star Wars. Daniel is Luke Skywalker. Myagi is Ben Kenobi. Kreese is the Emperor, Johnny Lawrence is Vader. The girl is Princess Leia.
I would ask who's idea was it to say the final season? was it the writers? veteran actors because they have other projects or even the young actors to start spreading there careers?
I wish they could just seek another studio other than Netflix to continue the series.
I don't think Netflix wants the series to end. I think the writers want to wrap up the story. But perhaps there will be spin-offs.

Zabka missed the opportunity to come out with a Banquet!!! Should have had that even as a prop.

Is Cobra Kai, and Miyagi Do the same karate? Miyagi’s father taught Mr. Miyagi, and Sato. Sato taught Chozen. Chozen taught Miyagi Do to American soldiers in their dojo in Okinawa. Captain Turner taught Kreese and Silver in Vietnam which they decided to call Cobra Kai. Where did Turner learn martial arts…… could it have been at THAT dojo in Okinawa. It is clearly shown in 1985 that Sato had been teaching karate in Okinawa for 40 years on a billboard at the airport when Daniel, and Mr. Miyagi arrive, which would play right into Captain Turner's timeline in Vietnam 😦.

I liked the Karate Kid alot! The first film was the best, the second one was god awful. The third one was ok but not great though I kind of liked it. I liked the fourth one though it lacks the magic of the first one. I saw the fifth one-a reboot-though I don't recall the plot-I saw it ages ago. I like the tv series.

In real life William is the only one that continued his karate training after the original movie I don't know who would be 2nd & 3rd

You must also realise the actors wouldn't give you the time of day in the street if you walked up to them, they are friendly on stage due to being paid to be there, this is all business for them, the only reason you see them like this is money and time is money, they don't see you like they would another money person aka denzel washington, fans are not on there level.....
Your absolutely right I’ve met a few actors and seen how they really act behind closed doors and out of the public. Take people like Tom cruise he goes round he’s premieres signing autographs etc but see him in general he’s not the nicest guy

To be honest, it's hard to trust people, especially strangers, nowadays. You don't know who is coming up to you (out in public).
It didn't work too well for John Lennon or Selena or Merlin Santana.
Just as there can be crazy or unfriendly people in Hollywood (there can be crazy/entitled people in the general population).
And it depends on how famous a person becomes, as well. Prior to Cobra Kai, they may have been more receptive to
total strangers (on the street, etc)... but the more people know them, the more risky it becomes., thus
why many actors get bodyguards.

But I work at Universal Studios, I'm around famous actors all the time; I don't get star struck, I'm just there to do a job. Haven't run into a lot of actors that were jerks to me. Except that red headed guy from Rambo, can't remember his name; also played Horacio Caine - that guy's a fucking jerk. But otherwise 98% of actors I run into are pretty chill.
And I am an actor myself. Can't think of a single person at the acting school where I train that I don't get along with. We scream at each other and cuss each other out on stage but we're always high fiving and hugging after the scene is over.
I don't understand how someone can take something that brings so much joy to so many people and turn it into something negative. Acting literally saved my life.
I don't know about all that. I'm an actor myself and my regular day job is at Universal Studios. I'm around actors all day every day whether I'm at work, at school or on set. Can't think of a single actor I've worked with or trained with that I didn't like - well maybe a few but most have been pretty cool.
One thing I've noticed about most celebrities is that if you're the ONLY person in the room not staring at them the whole time they'll sit right next to you; sometimes even start up a conversation.
I got into a long conversation with Robert Patrick once (Terminator 2). Super nice guy but he'll talk your ears off! I had to get back to work and didn't want to be rude so I politely excused myself and he kept walking with me still talking to me. We kept talking another five or ten minutes.
Another time, working on a movie and John Savage walks up next to me and starts talking to me about how beautiful the sunset was (we were at Blue Cloud Ranch), I said "yeah" and we were talking like thirty seconds before I even looked over to see who I was talking with. I was just enjoying the fresh air, beautiful sunset and my cup of coffee before heading to the set.
Got drunk with Harrison Ford once. Had never met him before, we weren't at a movie studio. I was at a Karaoke club I used to hang out at in Burbank, the place was COMPLETELY empty so I took a seat at the bar and ordered a screwdriver. Then Harrison Ford walks in but I didn't recognize him at first. I was the only other person there so he walks right up to the bar, orders a drink (I think Johnny Walker black label on the rocks) and I don't remember a word of our conversation. That was over twenty five years ago but I DO remember he had a scar on his lower lip. Thought it was interesting because I have a scar in the same spot but mine is vertical and his is horizontal.
There's probably thousands of other stories but those three came to mind. I used to see celebrities all the time at that Karaoke place, it was called "Dimples" and was right across the street from the Burbank studios (formerly NBC). It was a popular place for actors to hang out after being on The Tonight Show. I miss that place, they closed it down a few years ago but you can find videos about the place on RUclips and lots of written articles. Dimples Karaoke Club, so many memories.
Hillary Swank should have been offered the opportunity to be in the series,since she also learned from Mr Miyagi.
