I'd say season 5 was my favorite. But the series finale is one of the best finales I've ever seen before. I'd have to rewatch the whole thing to do a ranking. Great content love the channel! Been watching since the Phantasm ravager review back in 2016

In my opinion season 5 was the most overrated and season 4 underrated.
I think Lalo is a highly overrated villain, he is just some typical crazy guy, no complexity about him. He is like Tuco but more charismatic and more calm.
Lalo is nothing compared to The Twins, or Gus or even the Nazis are better villains.

Season 6 is the greatest season. Maybe it’s recentcy bias but the Mideseason finale was setup and executed perfectly. And they did a pretty good job on closing the series out in the 2nd half as well. BCS is better than breaking bad, but it needed breaking bad to be as great as it is. You can’t have one without the other now, in my opinion.
I find ir so disrespectful when people say its better than Breaking Bad. It's good but it's not better than literally the best show ever made. BCS 8/10 BB 10/10 and anyone that says otherwise is delusional.

I think the storytelling and pacing is better than breaking bad. But it just can't pass the action and tension of later breaking bad seasons. Bryon Cranston and Saul Goodman both had masterful performances for sure. Love both shows

Great ranking. Only reason I’d place S2 above S1 is because Kim and Nacho started getting more focus that season as opposed to just mainly being about Jimmy (and Mike in the very tail end) Was especially happy to see Nacho getting more screen time considering he was only in 4 episodes S1 despite being a main character. I’m aware that was due to a writing decision that kinda changed the course of S1 but like you,I’ve always wanted to see more of his character.
Speaking of Nacho,I always felt he got just the right amount of focus but the one time his absences really bothered me (nitpick really) was in S4 where I expected him to be part of practically every episode considering his position as Gus’ mole. After the first 4,he’s absent a noticeably long time and just pops up for brief appearances in the 2nd half. This is honestly my biggest complaint with this fantastic series though 😅

Missed this video yesterday so I'm watching it now. Love the content Cody thank you. I loved this series and its a bit cliche but i think the show gets better every season. I really love how it starts off as a lawyer drama but after chucks death the crime world we all know so well and love starts to infest this show until we are in a colorless world. If that was intentional then brilliant. The moral compass in Jimmy's life and for the show basically died, and BB slowly crept in. My ranking is a bit cliche but

BRUH!!! Season 6 at #5 is fucking insane. IMDB has it as the highest episode average out of all seasons. Absolutely crazy.

I am not mentally prepared for this… I still can’t believe it’s over with.
It took me three years to get through S1, but once I got onto S2 and onwards, wow!!!
1.) Season 6: My only criticism is that the first two Epilogue Eps should've been in the first half of the Season. Awkward structure. Otherwise? Excellent. Perfect finale. Not a single lackluster Episode.
2.) Season 5: Doesn't miss a single beat. Second best directed Season.
3.) Season 3: The best Chuck v Jimmy Season. Almost my favorite Season finale of the show, only bested by the Series finale.
4.) Season 4: The Werner/Mike/Gus stuff is excellent. This is where the writers finally figure out what they wanna do with Nacho.
5.) Season 2: Improves on all of my issues with Season 1. Has a stronger finale and it's the Season where Kim actually becomes a character.
6.) Season 1: The Tuco stuff at the front of the Season feels like a forced plea to get BrBa fans invested. Nacho has a strong intro, but gets lost in the shuffle. Supporting characters are underdeveloped. Weak finale. It's solid, but nothing special. Season 2 is what made me a fan.
Give season 6 in binge format a rewatch I feel the structure works really well I think having the random gene jump then back to present then back again would’ve been jarring them going from Jimmy to time jump Saul Goodman to now present day post breaking bad gene works well

I have to admit that after I watched Bod Odenkirk in Nobody that made me want to watch Better Call Saul and I was totally hooked after the first episode. I had never watched Breaking Bad but now after this fantastic show is over I will be watching all of Breaking Bad. Then I’ll watch your BB reviews and rankings!

Season 5 is the best and honestly i find season 6 the second best. The rest share the third place. Season 1 episode 6 alone could give season 1 the third place alone, but honestly it's too hard to rank the other seasons like that.
I am at season 4 going to finish it tomorrow.....for me it's 4,3,1,2
4th top just because of saul, mike, g and nacho story are parallel.... it's like anthology series.
3rd is just about Chuck and Jimmy sometimes i get exhausted watching it....took time to complete it.
S1 is good not bad not good just good.
S2 just exhausted me AF i finish it in 2 weeks because if things going very slow.
5th and 6th season will be remaining

It took me a few tries to get thru the first 3 or 4 episodes of the series. It just wasn’t clicking with me. But I barreled thru and loved everything after.
That is how I felt with season 1. I almost gave up watching after the first few episodes. I for one prefer season 2 much more then season 1.
I mostly agree with you however I actually found the second half of season 3, in relation to Jimmy and filming his commercials, to be the least interesting part of the season. Aside from that I agree that it’s the perfect season. I still think season 5 is my favorite though. I just love Lalo too much haha.
Season 3 is also my number 1

I have to say i LOVED the first half of this series and how it was it's own thing. Season 4-6 had great moments, some of the best moments in the series but also the least interesting moments. I also am in the minority here and say that i did not like Lalo all that much. He was succesfully terrifying in places but he was also too much of a superhuman for my taste, a lot of things that he pulled off/survived from made me go "Oh come on..". I was glad to see him finally die in season 6. After season 3, the series starts to get a little unstable. Maybe it's the point too as we're getting close to the breaking bad territory.
Overall, at it's best, "Better Call Saul" is better than "Breaking Bad" for me, but at it's weakest, it's also weaker than BB. I loved the slower pace, eventhough it got maybe a little too slow in the later seasons. Still, i'm glad they stuck to the landing!
I mean the way he survived at points was due to his intellect and instinct especially when he was getting gunned down him trapping them and taking them all out was brilliant it’s not like he’s dom toretto jumping out of cars going 100 crashing no scratches on him they wrote him to be superior intellectually and charismatic all the best traits of the Salamancas one was scary to deal with
I think each Season gets better and better. However. I would put Season 6 slightly under Season #5. But the show is so consistent it doesn't matter, which season is the weakest. Also the Black and White Episodes at the end of Season 6, are a whole part of the shows exploration of Fate, and Jimmy possibly getting a chance to start over. Almost like all three timelines are a Trinity of both him and Walter white. Both suffering from letting their inner emotions out, and hiding behind lies. But Walter starts out with an Selfless act and turns to selfish. For Saul it's vise versa. Which is why he doesn't die. Cus he finally did what Walter couldn't do. Expose his own self destructiveness to everyone. Making the prequel aspect and the sequel aspect, infinite. And an ongoing loop. Saul had to help Walter, to be able to get to where he is, and start over. But Saul ends up on top. Like he says.

Wow, season 6 was my favorite followed by season 5. After listening to your 8 hours Blu-ray collection where you dismissed some good movies, a few other reviews, and this now, our opinions couldn't be more opposite. We both agree on Barbarian though. I hope that one becomes a franchise with more movies than Saw! -scott

Damn that's an unusual view of the show. Majority of people I know including myself found it boring as fuck. The worst season by a big margin imo. I think seasons 1 and 3 are as good as eachother and seasons 4, 5 and 6 were as good as eachother so I can't even rank them

From best to worst 6 yes it had an epilogue but it was an epilogue done right There were so many flashbacks and timeline I fear any other way would have been incoherent 5 great season start to finish best Saul and Mike interactions in the series 4 great progression of Jimmy into Saul Goodman and Kim development as character 3 amazing work with Jimmy and his brother but other Dynamics fall flat in my view and by that I mean awesome but not quite as awesome 2 solidifies the Dynamics going forward in compelling ways 1 still a great season but in my opinion shows that these characters at the beginning weren't as interesting until they had that Arc into the more interesting characters that they were in Breaking Bad however in terms of rewatchability 316542

Every season had a different angle, and I could never rank which was best to worse, because I think they were all equally great. The thing that bothered me about this excellent series was the Breaking Bad fans complaining after season 2 that there's no Walt or Jesse cameos, which would of been ridiculous and pointless.

Season 2 took me around 10 days to watch while every other season took about 3 or 4 days. I liked the slow burn style of the show but season 2 went too far with it I think and I was constantly losing interest. It sits far away from the other 5 seasons and everyone I know that has seen the show agrees with me. I am amazed people think this was better than Breaking Bad it's a good show but that is a ridiculous claim. Breaking Bad got better from season to season so that's how I rank that.

Loved the ranking. Season 3 has always been low for me because I think the back half is a little weak until the finale. The selling commercial time and then scamming Irene Landry just didn’t work for me. BUT, god I love this show

Well the fact remains that most people didn't jump aboard Breaking Bad until it was in its final stretch. It's well known and celebrated but it wasn't a huge ratings hit.

Seasons 2, 4, 6 are all 3/5s in my opinion. Season 1 is still underrated and great on rewatch, 4/5. Seasons 3 and 5 are somewhat easy 5/5s. So, you're not alone, here's my ranking:

1. Season 6 - The most intense and bittersweet season - Nacho, Howard, Lalo, Kim and Jimmy. Need I say more?
2. Season 5 - The most consistently great season - Each episode with a few exeptions gets better than the last with the last 3 episodes is among the best in the show
3. Season 4 - The most atmospheric season - By far the season with best music choices, especially in Quite a Ride and Something Stupid
4. Season 3 - The most hype season - Gus introduction and relationship to Mike
5. Season 1 - A great spark to the show - Jimmy’s layers and relationships to Chuck and Kim, plus Mike’s own story
6. Season 2 - The most "nothing unique going for it" season - Don’t get me wrong, it’s still like an 8/10
And I'd argue season 3 was peak Jimmy Vs Chuck

I agree with you and Sean about season 6, but I can't say that if the padded stuff wasn't there would I have the same emotional connection to the character ends. 50 episodes of Howard being a dick, I didn't know but think I might have needed a few episodes to see his perception and feel sorry for him, this had a greater effect emotionally then just shock when his story came to an end.

I noticed that too. We have a tendency to mind meld. Our Breaking Bad rankings on the other hand are pretty different
I have to say 6 didn’t change much in my overall ranking. I’d go 3, 1, 2, 5, 6, 4. I have to say 5 and 6 are very close though, could go either way on that. The fact that they went sort of straightforward with the ending wasn’t my favorite.
I'm honestly not that big on Season 4.
Everything involving the construction of the Meth Lab and Werner/Mike is brilliant
Outside of that though I was only occasionally interested in Jimmy and Kim's storylines
ranking sucks as all seasons are building,
(especially season 2 is essential for triggering the chuck-jimmy & mike-hector conflicts)

6. BCS Season 2- solid season, but easily the worst from the 6 seasons. The davis and main and the doc review storyline was dragged out a little too long, but it was also rlly entertaining at times. The best part of this season was the cartel side, with mike digging into hector salamanca. 4/5
5. Bcs season 4- this is tough, because i think the last 3 episodes are phenomenal, but the buildup to this episodes wasnt the most entertaining. They had to find a storyline for jimmy since he was disbarred and the phone stuff was j boring to me. The engineer side was also a little long winded. But the introduction of lalo salamanca was incredible. 4/5
4. Season 1- i love how lighthearted this season is, while also j being very entertaining, ive always loved the lawyer side of the story and seeing jimmy pull some cons and try to not get chuck to notice is great. The chuck plot twist in this season still gets me every time. 4.25/5
3. Season 3- incredible season, chicanery is a top 5 episode in the whole show. The nacho varga storyline is also great in this, he finally comes into his own a little bit. The pill swap scene is so intense. And ofc the finale with chuck losing it and eventually killing himself is j so dark, but a perfect payoff. 4.5/5
2. Season 6- this has some of the best episodes in the whole series, but im still conflicted on episodes 10 and 11. I think they are placed rlly weirdly, and wish we wouldve got a full episode in the breaking bad timeline. Nonetheless, they wrapped this series up beautifully, howards death stuck in my mind for a month straight. 4.75/5
1. Season 5- this is the best season for me. The lawyer stuff is amazing, the cartel side is amazing, lalo has never been more menacing, the final 3 episodes are incredible, idk what else to say it j blows me away everytime. 5/5
Agree with all your rankings! The epilogue episodes in 06 sucked. Nacho's episode in 06 was the best.
