The $5,000 CHINESE BODYKIT will be the End of Me... (McLaren update)

- I bought the cheapest ($5,000), and really the only, chinese bodykit for the Mclaren 650S project for sake of budget. OEM panels would have easily been 2-3X times that. Here's how it fits! Update time

You are extremely talented, the series has been fantastic, and I can't thank you enough for bringing this to our screens. ❤
Been a lot of work, but been very fulfilling having you guys along on the ride 🙌🏽
This is amazing! I’ll admit I want things to happen ‘faster’, but that’s only because I want to see your progress and successes. I understand your pain… keep up the good work!
Appreciate that. Only a few more videos in the series. Crazy to think about!
You're a father now too. You don't have a crew to shoot and edit. You're doing good man, don't beat yourself up over it.
Yeah, totally forgot to mention that small detail 💀 appreciate you, Zagnut!
@@TheInja20 Anytime man.
Keep up the good work. Plenty of blessings to you and your family. Take your time and continue putting out wonderful and enjoyable content.
Will do. Much appreciated. 👊🏽
being a panel beater myself buy hinges don't try and fix them the dreaded fiberglass body kit look at where the panel gaps are wrong like your wheel arch is tucked in a little for example this is because it was taken out of the mold to soon to fix it you can try putting a heat lamp on the area that is not right get it hot then use a G clamp and 2 flat pieces of wood and clamp it so the fiber glass is where it supposed to be and let it cool it should go back to where it should be do not use a torch a heat lamp or a heat gun get it hot but not crazy hot the fiber glass resin should soften enough to be able to manipulate it it will not take much force find a piece of old fiber glass somewhere and try on it first but remember it is a chineesium body kit so you get what you pay for the high areas just lightly sand and see if they put body filler there if so just sand down to where it suites your car my guess if there is cracking it is a fiber glass kit with a layer of carbon where it is needed cheers from down under
You are a beast brooo
Another 2 months in the gym and I'll be an absolute ANIMAL
Take your time. Enjoy the process. I am enjoying your small victories. Also: way to be a bro. I hope you and your family are doing well :)
Doing great. 💯 Thanks, Turner!
Dude I understand and thank you for explaining it to everyone. I appreciate you.
Videos like these are dope keep them coming. I used to work at a body shop dope seeing people fix these cars.
Very cool brother. Body work is a real pain in the ass, but the results make it worth it! Your content is lightyears ahead of mine, so don't sweat the haters.
Been enjoying your series, both the McLaren and the SVJ! maybe I road trip the McLaren your way when it's finished? 😏
@@TheInja20 That would be awesome! You are totally welcome!
You've done some pretty amazing work on this. I hope everything is easy from here on
Same boat with you, man. You and Lord Kurt have inspired me to build my dream bike. It's been over a year since I started it. Family, work, responsibilities, have kept me from moving along at the pace I would like. But our builds will ride.
Get it done!!
I just picked up a Pontiac Fiero project. They take time any project you do. I'm my head I have a 2 year window to get project to 90%. It's a project they're never done. I think it's awesome you video your progress. I use it to motivate myself to keep going with my projects because yours are so much more advanced.
That’s wild that butter it up with filler so you can cut it to shape 🎉.
I do custom audio so I can appreciate how much work it is to remove all the parts over and over.. keep it up it’s looking good
You provide amazing content for the free. Keep up the hard work and the payoff will come.
Appreciate that. I do it for the passion of it luckily, anyone in this for the money would have quit long ago.
You can never fix ignorance there’s always someone that will find a way to complain, can’t win everyone. You’re doing great in my opinion.
Facts. Thanks dude. 💯
Take your time man
Im just glad you take the time to record everything and show us how insane this car is
Keep up the hard work man!
Keep up the great work. You're surely inspiring some of your viewers.
Great work man.
Doing what I can and learning as I go. 🤘🏽 Thanks a ton.
It's coming along nicely and your honing your skills as you go. Sometimes it's worth paying a pro to get the last bits right before you screw things up and make it worse and more expensive to get right. We got mom's old 08 PT Cruiser repaired and painted the damage after some random guy in a tow truck rammed it from behind while it was parked. Paint shop wanted more than it was worth to fully restore it to perfect so insurance totaled it and we bought it back. I made a deal with the paint shop and they scaled it back to body work on the drivers quarter and a new hatch. They repainted the damaged areas and it turned out great and cost us a grand over the settlement so it was worth it. Now it looks like a low mileage car with some age on it rather then a bent up one with paint damage.
I probably could have done it mostly with time and hopefully some of the same colored parts but it got done fairly quickly and the shop was easy to work with once we settled on a price and plan.
You do what works for you and enjoy your toy when it's done 👍
Always deals to be had. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to also see this project painted. 🙌🏽
We’re not Instagram people, but still need to send some love your way. As oldsters, it’s so nice to watch your videos as you are such a good, hard working kid. Consider getting a post office box so your subscribers can send you stuff! Thanks again for your positivity.
Inja is actually 47. Great skincare routine.
@@nmlracing9803 hahahahaha
Appreciate you guys, John and Janet. Hope you've been enjoying the videos. :) I'll go tomorrow to see about a PO box!

Thanks for the update 😊
Hey I know where you are coming from. Our Ferrari project has been a labor of Love. Being our first You Tube venture we have learned a lot and feel our production has improved do much. Hay we got 172 subs ya i know not much we hoped for more but project is coming to an end and doing another project is up in the air. Keep it real cause working under a budget is as real as it gets!!
Keep up the awesome content! You're appreciated, even if you aren't told!
My man 👊🏽
Wazaaaa Inja ma boi, I like the kit, looking forward to see how you fit the body kit.
Full video coming on Monday! Showing allllll the work put into it.
I wish I had your enthusiasm and skills, ignore the negativity, there will always be people who want to moan. Enjoy finishing the build and future projects, looking forward to seeing the finished McLaren
Nice been waiting for this video
You’re doing great and way big in the day on the farm would you have ever imagined sitting and working on your own McLaren.
And anyone who works on their own car knows that the simplest job can end up taking twice as long as you thought , and that’s without you recording and editing. But I’m glad you do 👍
Appreciate that. All about perspective when I'm hitting a wall and not wanting to work on it. Two years ago couldn't imagine having a car like this in the garage to work on. 🙌🏽
The smoke issue seems to be a normal Mclaren issue after the sit for a while. Alex gintani was saying on his the oil sits in the feed line for the turbos and after sitting a while bleeds into the turbos and exhaust causing it to burn when running. But take your time aswell brother I'm looking forward to your next video.
problems are McLaren has been standing still for too long, which can cause oil to be put in your exhaust and Turbo. Looking through the coating with oil on it indicates that you need a new turbo and exhaust or a good cleaning
9:40 You've done well so far mate
Keep it up, nice job.
Yeah I had a feeling the parts were going to take some work. I think I said it even when you first showed them that they'd probably need a little work since most body kits I've seen on youtube, even high quality ones, need work. Any of us who've been here since the Chinese electric motorcycle at the previous house, know how much you hustle and work and understand it takes time. So don't worry about the ones complaining, because every channel gets those comments. They just want to see the car done and they say the same garbage to ever other RUclipsr with a project.
Facts.
Great work! Hey, could you share a link to the Chinese Body Kit site and or other sites like it? Thanks, Rob
It was just a kit I found on eBay!
Don't worry about those people, maybe those people can't even change a bulb. I'm building from scratch a Lotus 7 style car, and I expect to build it for a few years in my spare time.
Very cool! Keep me updated as it progresses!
Cheers mate
Hopefully the revenue from the video helps you break almost even. The smoke is overfilled oil.
hello if you heat the bodykit you can easily bend it to fit.
Well you just gave me an idea for your Channel.
Videos of you editing videos for your Channel.
Bro just go o
At your own pace don’t worry about the haters
Hey you have to much oil in you engine take a quart out then started it up to see if you still have the smoking problem
Hate to say “ I Told ya so” 🤦🏻♂️😂
Let's go
If you can cut a deal for an ebuke and say 3 to 4 grand i would RUN with that deal...bc you have ALOT to prep for just to paint and if he will put his professional hands on the body work its a deal😊
It's super easy to fix bruh it'll be super fun RUclips happy time 🤟👽🤓🎬
Hahaha couldn't believe that's what they told me.
@dde has done this . If you havent seen.
Inja,.... Get ahold of (Jack builds it),che is another you tuber, but I'm sure he would love to work with ya
Morning mate
☀️
Same case of the dde gang for the smoke
Yep! Only difference is theirs began running super rough when it happens. Mine runs normally still.
Shims, my friend shims just take the low points and shim it out
You'll see in today's video on The Inja some shims here and there! Haha
Cool cool cool. Nice video. Anybody that thinks you're milking it or gets bored can easily hop to another channel. In the time it takes them to whine behind the keyboard they could surely find two/three channels up to their short attention spans.
Facts
Not always original is better. I am not chinesse, but I have seen and bought horrible bodykits from reputable sources such as CMST and Wicked… it is not about nationality it is about the company or supplier. Having said that, you DO need to go to a Mclaren shop and see the fitment of OEM panel, you would be surprised what a keen eye can discover. Panel gaps in Ferraris and Lambos are horrendous… Porsche are not perfect as well… just to give you knowledge and do not sweat when you see imperfections… it is a wrecked car for GS. If you plan to sell the car, hire a professional for the paint… if you will track the car (as you should), then learn how to paint.
👍👍🙏🇬🇧
Let’s goo
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Original parts are always better
I'd just sell a car an get original ok condition parts
Haha! Sell the Lambo and I could afford a new McLaren bumper!
