Bro, why are you insuring a Lamborghini with State Farm? Seriously, get a Hagerty collector policy. For one thing, the premiums will be about a quarter what you're currently paying, and second, they're AWESOME to work with a really understand collector and exotic cars. I have a policy with an Aston Martin, Porsche, two Mercedes, and an old Land Rover, and my total premium is $450/month for the entire collection. Full coverage, $100 deductible. In NYC. Want to use an independent specialist on the other side of the country? No problem. Have custom parts that need to be replaced? No problem. Rare car with zero parts availability and needs custom fabrication? No problem. Repairs cost more than the book value of the car? No problem. They work with you on EVERYTHING. Oh and if your car does somehow get totalled -- they won't total the car unless you want them to -- they GIVE YOU THE CAR BACK with a salvage title to do whatever you want with it, in addition to your payout. It's completely insane to own these cars on any kind of standard policy.

Been looking for a 12c under 20grand with a blown engine. Have zero interest in replacing that engine with ANYTHING but a C-8 engine . Headaches are wiring , ECU, misc serious little stuff ... Credit card is a bad idea. A personal loan or HELOC would be a better idea. Also you could sell the lambo and use that money which is what I would probably do.

I think you was better off not filing the Lamborghini with insurance because it would probably be cheaper just to fix it yourself and not say anything. Because in my experience, anytime I filed a claim, my insurance goes up. Didn't Matter if it was my fault or not

I am a insurance agent myself, and I know Bylaw state farm cannot tell you where you can take your vehicle to get it fixed.

From the start of this project I was sceptical about the way you repaired the oil, fuel and other lines with the rubber hoses. I think you should have those lines replaced with oem lines whilst you're at it. Hope that was not the cause of all your problems

I haven't watched one of your other build projects because I'm more into the car builds, but if you ever do a bike build on something rare like a Aprilia rs250 build from parts, then take it out on a track day and do a raffle to give the bike to a subscriber, that would be some good content worth watching outside of the car realm. Loving seeing that this project is coming to an end, but also sad at the same time, do you have another build lined up yet?

I don’t know how it is in other states but in Maryland you can always opt for a payout after the shop has assessed the damage and given a quote. The insurance will usually deduct your deductible and pay you out on what that quote is. You can often get things done a lot cheaper and even come out ahead sometimes depending on where the quote comes from. You didn’t really have to get into it with the adjuster. It’s your right to have it fixed where you want it done. They often don’t even come back to check if it’s been done. So for next time, have them take the car to which ever shop is going to do the quote. In fact if they’ll let you take it where you want take it to a shop that deals with high-end cars, let them do the assessment and send the quote. When you get the call from insurance to approve everything. That’s when you say, you’d like to get it done on your own so they should send you the check. It’s your right so they will. That’s it.

Honestly, everything you’ve done so far is incredibly admirable. I mean you just jumped right into it and aesthetically It’s absolutely gorgeous. I’m pretty sure whatever it takes you’ll see this project through. I just hope you catch a break.

Do you watch your own videos? Do you listen to yourself speak? You keep referring to this engine as”NEW” this is not a new engine. It is used. Yes low mileage, but used nonetheless. You have no idea the history of this engine has the seller provided you a warranty and if so, what is the warranty? The two turbos alone will cost you a ton as you already know he might warrantee the engine, but not anything else. You are really really optimistic and I understand that but a certain point you gotta wake up I’m not wishing you illwill but holy cow dude wake up. I’m assuming there’s no #Warranty because you didn’t mention it. All I heard from you is my new engine the new engine it’s a new engine. Good luck.

I hope you don’t face this, but i suspect all the modules will need to be recoded to the new engine. The big risk of the new engine is why is it available? Was the doner car up side down, in a river etc etc. if you rebuilt you would know exactly what the history was.

In the end you'll have a sick, gorgeous McLaren to enjoy with a good, low-miles engine..and some good content out of the deal. That's a win dude.
