I, my husband, and our 5 children left the Mormon religion 8.5 years ago and it has been an incredible journey of healing and opening our minds and hearts to all that is for us. I was in that cult for 27 long, agonizing years. I "converted" to it, but my husband was raised in it. We're all so grateful to be free of that way of thinking and living. When we first made the change in our lives and left that way of thinking and living, it was very scary; however, it was the very best thing for each of us. Now, I'm exploring everything with an open mind and doing my best to listen to, and feel what my intuition says is the best path for me. Having recently left one of the big Christian churches in all but name, I can attest as to how painful it is when you see how false your ‘true’ church really is. I’ve been carefully finding my way into a new freer spirituality with only one rule (Harm None!), rather than a religion with a dogma, and I must admit it has been difficult at times to give myself permission to use my imagination in my spiritual practice. Letting go of the constraints of dogmatic religion, all while being thoroughly DONE with those constraints, has been challenging, but challenges are growth points, "shadow work" points to examine within myself. I’m learning to relish finding new areas of "shadow work" to examine. Doing my shadow work, in all its guises, helps me to grow! ❤ Thank you Penny for the challenges you have endured to find out who you were and why you’re here and then sharing that with us. I love the analogy of coming off the world. Yes! Turn to mother earth and love and nurture her... then you love and nurture yourself. Even a little seedling flourishes with love. Give it, give it, give it, and badk in the light of your love
