Two quick notes: 1. As many commenters have suggested, playstation (entanglement) can also be dealt with by having one role go to their clock positions, and having the other role adjust. This works well, though if doing this, I recommend having DPS (on intercardinals) be the fixed role and having tanks/healers adjust. This makes it easier to dodge the cleaves which target cardinals. 2.Big thanks to Watte, who pointed out that playstation 2 can be solved with the line strat (adjacent groups come together so their circles are on top of each other) for both patterns. No need to use a separate pattern for when the enumerations are diagonally opposite each other.
Thank you so much for all your brilliant guides! The top down view is really helpful and got me through the first savage tier, thanks for taking the time to make them so quickly and so detailed, they’re a huge help for understanding mechanics!
Was a mistake trying this early today when tired. The sword movements were very hard for me to see but one hour in and we did manage to late phase 2 at least. Thanks for breaking down the mechanics concisely!

Thank you! Love how you show things, as always. My static decided to blind prog the first night and I'm feeling a tad proud we worked otu a lot of these ourselves. If our static lead hadn't shown up 90 minutes late, I think we would have got to the end. Now, first night of using a guide so we all get weapon pre raid drop, and of course you are our go to!
This is the first time im doing EX at launch, so im very grateful for your video. You explain things so well, i know its gonna look so clean and orderly on here, then im gonna get to the fight and its gonna feel like a whole other things with mechanics i kinda remember from this lol - wish me luck! Thank you again!
We had to adjust on the playstation phase and assign signs to numbers, mainly to help with colorblind members. Your content is great, it definitely helped my FC.
A decent guide, but an adjustment I would make to it, to allow to better muscle memory, would be to treat all 4 variations of the sword/hair raid as Sword being North. This way everyone will make the same movement pattern each time regardless of the orientation of the sword throw and adds more consistency to the fight.
Hey Hector. For PS mechanic, an easy thing to do, is to let tanks & heals be on their protean, and the dps adjust to them. Makes us think less, so we do dps adjust for an easy life
Haven't watched the guide yet. But I just wanted to thank you that you didn't put the Boss or the actual Name into the thumbnail. I had no time to play yet but I got spoiled through RUclips thumbnails on day one and I am so pissed about it. Yeah, I know we knew that we would fight the four fiends at some point but still absolute asshole moves from some "content creators" you can upload the track to the Boss and change the thumbnail later and not have him at day 1 big on it. Sad that I had to block a few channels cause they will propably spoil again.
the only thing i would suggest is to adjust the markers you have for this fight. numbers should be intercardinals to easily match colors for playstation. Letters should be on the outside cardinally so you can easily identify where your clock spread is. Basically P4S markers.
For Playstation it can be easier to just designate what pairs go where based on the layout of an actual Playstation control. ie, triangle north, x south
Playstation markers will always put 1 unique one on each Support. Supports will never get marked to go with each other. My group found it easiest to just have Supports stay at their clock spots and only have the 4 DPS adjust. Rotate CW to dodge the boss cone, and the supports move back cardinal for the following protean.
Thanks the guide was very clear and well paced. I'm looking forward to trying this out this weekend. Only problem I have is noticing if she's standing/floating/dahing/donut/or whatever. The markers pugs use make it hard to read her.
Went with prog. Literally never saw Enrage. After 1 lockout we cleared it twice :^) @Hector Hectorson In 2nd flares/stack you missed on one thing. When all that "dodge LoL 4Head" happening, lines pattern happens. In beginning we dodged it by stacking middle, but now it's not safe. So you dodge fist lines near edge, go in safe triangle near edge (it look unsafe, but only cuz outer ring attack lined up), and then get out of outer ring attack. Also important thing for pf would to say "There is 1-2s grace period on spread mechanics like in e12s". For example after wall dash into spread - you have plenty of time to get off the wall and spread, so you not overlap and kill teammates.
Edit: Looks like my consideration for adjacent enumerations was incorrect as in a clean run, enums will always be opposite. Leaving the comment in case people want to see this strat, as it will always work (it works with opposite enumerations every time as well), even if there are deaths. Might help people continue progging an otherwise scuffed run. There’s a small error in your Tangled 1 strat. It’s possible for enumeration stacks to be on adjacent cardinals (E and S for example) which would require the stacks to go the opposite intercardinals you have here. You just have to be able to adjust based on the enum positions. One strat is for enum people to look right, and if there’s no enum there, go right, otherwise left. nothing people do the opposite, look left, if there’s an enum there, go left, otherwise right. the spotlight people go opposite their tangle buddy. There’s one max melee spot for each spotlight aoe intercardinal pair, so melees with spotlights can fight over uptime.
I'm about 85% sure the Playstations can be baited to your nearest role. I.e. two nearest support + DPS get same marker. This was hard to see at first because sometimes you won't get paired with your nearest opposite role if there is someone else closer to them already. So for playstation you should be able to just have supports rotate clockwise from their clock positions and stand close to their DPS buddy and you're already at the correct position.
Amazingly clear as usual! Are there any names for the strats used in pf? It would also be easy if those were included in all videos, especially savage ;v;
@@Aerac I mean even in the description would already be helpful; if you take these vids as a reference as a static and then have to pf a sub for one evening, you end up not knowing what to tell the sub
1/3 enumerations is a common pf tag I see, meaning they use set intercardinals to deal with tangle tease 1. Most other pf strats are similar to my video. Just check your group isn’t trying to yolo entanglement. XD
