This episode was super emotional for me. When Stryx tried to give herself up and the party members stepped forward and said "no" ... well, that was true heroism!
Kudos to Chris Perkins for seamlessly incorporating such an exciting story element from a player character background into an already awesome adventure module!

Kerrek saved the day multiple times this episode. What a fantastic guest appearance!
my favourite DCA episode, and I've seen almost all of them.
This episode truly was a triumph for Strix; I felt an emotional response for the first time, for her imperilment. Having Evelyn brace herself for the grim task of having to pacify a Gaseous Strix turned on the waterworks.
And Patrick's poignant bookend speech at the beginning & end about 'shackles' and freedom.
it was storytelling at the highest level.
It should have a million views like any of the best of Acq Inc.
Most of DCA I've politely watched to thank Chris for writing the modules; but now you can safely consider me one of the converted

It's a funny coincidence that Nate had flight issues and the last we saw of Paultin was that he was flying off on his mandolin. I mean, it's bad that Nate got caught up, but it still makes me giggle a bit.

Glad to see this liveshow made it to RUclips. Love the show and love the cast. Chris does way too good of a job. I've watched, took notes, and I think become a better DM altogether, due to my players watching along as well!
The Dungeons and Dragons Cinematic Universe is really coming together.
Critical Role's Kerrek is in Dice Camera Action, DCA's Strix is in Acquisitions Incorporated. Acq Inc's Omin Dran is an official Masked Lord of Waterdeep. Acererak is in Ready Player One. Drizzt Do'Urden is in Super Smash Bros for Switch. And of course, Minsk and Boo are in Marvel's Black Panther.
It all comes full circle.

Critical role in turn is linked to Force Grey through Arkhan and Force Grey has shared dungeon and plot points with Acquisitions Inc. as well. Anything I missed?
Good grief, it's taken me a month to get caught up to this point in DCA. Now I have a butt load of other shows to catch up on.
Oh, and I hear tell that Strix canonically knows Alba Blackleaf from Dragons in Places, but there haven't been any crossover appearances that I know of.

THE IRON FLASH, that honestly would have been amazingggggggg. Capture the mercy killer in it (Right? that would work?). They have a free meat shield/soldier for an hour in any fight then lol.
I figure there's a great chance he wasn't native to the prime material plane, so yeah, it absolutely should. Wow, if they'd only been smarter with Kaharak, the Waffle Crew would be steamrolling everything right now.
Actually Diath doesn't have the flask. Strix had it and lost it during the 50 years in Barovia

Grappling is definitely an attack, as it always has been. From the 5e PHB:
"When you want to grab a creature or wrestle with it, you can use the Attack action to make a special melee attack, a grapple. If you're able to make multiple attacks with the Attack action, this attack replaces one of them."

It was probably an honest mistake, but Diath should have been able to use acrobatics/dex to avoid the grapple.
It is fairly typical of this party that they forget to use their abilities and class skills.

I hate that they completely forgot about Paultin. I get that Nate wasn't able to be there, but he would've been quite helpful in this whole thing and it's also a little weird that they didn't mention him at all through out. Other than that, easily the best episode I've seen.

Sometimes it makes the tension even greater because then they arent firing on all cylinders - with teams functioning on all levels it can be a bit rare to feel that on the ropes tension.

So correct me if I'm wrong but Evelyn in this is a Construct, at least in this episode. So how are they doing the stats and stuff for that. All I can find online about constructs is the warforged and they don't really seem to fit the mold here.
they basically said that it didnt really change anything besides certain stuff like having a sense of smell, etc.
I think they just added the Living Construct from Warforged to her sheet

Its not the first time they admitted drinking Chris never looks impressed lol I bet he's furious internally after all the work he puts in and then they're suboptimal too lol and he's right about that. It must be hard not to kill them by accident as their DM they always turn down opportunities in combat to actually deal damage.
I get frustrated on behalf of Chris. If they're not doing things like bandaging rats in the midst of life and death combat they're horrifically miscalculating their damage to somehow roll like 8d8 on a smite.
Who is paying attention to the combat mechanics when their RP is always some of the best I've ever seen. I love that they're not really combat focused but rather more of a family.
