    The reason why this looks so nice and like the Celtics were never bad is because of one player. Danny Ainge traded for a backup point guard playing across the country. Isaiah Thomas came out of no where to average 30 points per game and lead the C’s to the playoffs in 3 years they should have been rebuilding. The rebuild should have been 8 to 9 years. Because of Isaiah Thomas the “rebuild” was 2 years. Insane.

    • @DJMoSheckles
      @DJMoSheckles 5 месяцев назад +2

      Why? Isaiah was traded for Kyrie who left after 2 years for nothing and barely played in the playoffs. Isaiah was a great find but hardly a consequential piece in the building of the current team. Getting him probably helped Tatum and Brown make an earlier run to the ECFs for additional experience but it didn’t build the current asset base

      Fultz had me confused back then. Why draft a smaller sized PG when you have one of the best passing and defending PGs already? Trade or draft a dynamic scoring wing to benefit the passing.
      Bucks trading Jrue is hilarious though. Doc left the celtics when they began all this rebuild. Now Doc coaches the team that traded Jrue away which gave the celtics such a crucial piece and upgrade. I feel like Doc or atleast his teams constantly make poor talent choices. Dame is an amazing scorer but I'll keep Jrue over him for winning a championship and find some role players to hit shots with the salary savings.

      Dude, Lonzo had injuries. I mean seriously, if he hadn't worn Big Baller Brand shoes, he may have been healthy. And healthy Lonzo was nuts. Magic said that Lonzo's name would be hanging from one of those banners... and even though Magic is prone to exaggeration... he said that for a reason. Lonzo is one of the very very very rare talents that could have led a team without scoring. His passing genius and vision is up there with the bests ever. And then, to make up for his lack of scoring, he had elite defense. Lonzo was the right pick. He just got injured. That's all. And now they just recently did a brand-new surgery on him that's never really been done before -- they just replaced his meniscus with a dead guy's meniscus and added in tons of dead guy cartilage. I'm not joking. Given Lonzo's track record, I wouldn't hold my breath, but if somehow this brand-new multi-million dollar surgery works, we may yet see some of the Lonzo-that-could-have been.
      This is all easy for me to say as a Pistons fan, since I'm on the outside looking in.
      But I would have made the Lonzo pick in a heartbeat.
      And knowing what we know now, I'd still make the pick -- I'd just bench him until he wore legit shoes. Ban him from wearing BBB's. Then I'd have my star.
      And imagine healthy Lonzo with Ingram and Randle. Add in a superstar free agent not named LeBron (LeBron is amazing, but he wanted to win-now). Boom.

    As a C’s fan, I just realized Wemby actually helped the Celtics win a championship.
    In the 2nd-to-last game of the season, Wemby single-handedly carried the Spurs to a win over the Nuggets. This led to the Nuggets being knocked down to the 2nd seed and entering the playoff bracket with the Timbwerwolves. The Twolves were quite literally designed to beat the Nuggets, and that’s exactly what happened. The Nuggets match up well against the Celtics, and if they made the Finals, they probably would have repeated.

      When you happen to be one of the two most historic teams in the nba, 10 years is a long time to wait for a chip. There is also a good and the best way to succeed, we will never know if the Celtics could have won two or three championships in ten years with other picks/moves. No one controls luck, not everything went according to plan but circumstances allowed it to happen. The real success will be if they win another one or two in the next few years. If not, then luck played a role and we can't credit the Celtics for it. I'm not a Celtics fan, but they're a solid team with good chem, playing pluralism and no divas/ego. The Lakers are all about drama and show and headlines; and they don’t really win without at least one bona fide star.
    Meanwhile the Celtics, they build strategic pieces such that you can turn a 5’9 offense only player into an all star, and then in cold blood trade him for a better a player. And even tho that better player didn’t buy in and bailed (big mistake for kyrie btw), they still managed to build again with more subtle star players whose potential they know how to maximize.

    Who would win in a scam battle, Indian Tech scammers, Celtics' front office, or OKC's front office? This is the real question that needs to be answered.

Jayson, Jaylen, if you ever do read this comment, Well done, You did well, great even, in fact your ahead of the curve, you guys have a chance to be the greatest duo in NBA history, and your both smart enough to realize this and make it a reality!

      @@beanster8501 The Celtics traded away the core of their team. Then you go "wow all the talent was just traded away for future picks?! Bro, I love this team!"
      So yes, I am calling Cap. It wasn't a moment, player, or game that made you a fan. It was a trade in which the Celtics dominated in hindsight and in the future. You only made this comment to sound like a smart and loyal fan.
      Sorry to embarrass you like that, but cmon. The biggest question I have is, are there really that many casuals who liked your comment, or do you have that many burner accounts 🤔
