A Day in Frederiksted: Stunning Beaches and Local Charm

St Croix in the USVI gave us a memorable experience as we discovered one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever encountered. Sandy Point beach is approx 3 miles away from the cruise dock in Frederiksted but is walkable from the ship.
This is a nature reserve however and a nesting site for leatherback turtles. As such access is restricted and prohibited between April and August. This is not a public amenity and there are no facilities on this beach. It is however stunning and one of nature's wonders.

This was hard walking and in the end we had to turn back to Frederiksted which proved to be a quaint small town that featured:
-Shops
-Bars & Restaurants
-Small Craft Market
-Old Fort that includes a museum
Its a pleasent place to while away a few hours.
