It was Budget Rental. The rental itself was great, but the process to rent it was horrible. Everyone was extremely rude and the rental company was much further from the port than what they told us. We noticed other rental places closer to the port. I can’t remember the names of them, but you might check into those if you are planning to rent.
Thanks! No, they don’t require you to purchase theirs. You can deny theirs and use your own car insurance. Some insurance companies won’t cover you outside the mainland US without an additional policy. You might double check with yours just to make sure. Safe travels!
I lived in St. Thomas. You have to be careful with the locals! It’s not a super dangerous island, but it really has an extreme ghetto population who will loudly and without any filters, go at it (verbally and using explicit vulgar language) with one another!! As long as you stay close to the touristic areas, you should be ok. Explore the island, but dont believe those "We are the friendly island people" commercials you see on brochures or on tv! A lot of nice people, but plenty of crime and bad islanders!!! Trust me, I have experienced this first hand time and time again while living there! Such beautiful islands with such bad population!!

Do you know how far smith beach is from lime tree beach
They are on opposite sides of the island, but it doesn’t take long to drive. I would say 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
