- Welcome to St Croix, US Virgin Islands! See what we did at this Caribbean cruise port, which included shopping, visiting the historic Fort Frederik, and then the perusing Frederiksted beach. We even saw some sea turtles right at the pier.
Fort Frederik, aka Frederiksfort, was right off of the long cruise pier to the left. The museum provided a fascinating history of Denmark's colonial rule of St Croix and the eventual sale of the island to the United States. There were even some funky moko jumbie costumes inside.
Then we checked out Frederiksted Beach, which is right next Fort Frederik to the North. There were no lockers, but bathrooms were available, and chair with umbrella were available for rent.
These was from our late December 2022 Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Celebrity Millennium.

Another great video. A lot of the islands have some great, often hidden museums, that is bypassed by a lot of the shore excursions/
Thank you very much! 😊
Amazing video! Thank you for mentioning the shuttle for guests with mobility issues. I want to go now 😂
Yeah that was nice to see them have that service! Thank you very much for the comment! 😊
Being a little less of an experienced cruiser, I might have been tempted to think
*”if you’ve seen one Eastern Caribbean island, you’ve seen them all,”*
Until now… St. Croix looks amazing, and seems to have a different flavor than the other USVI’s. All of them have a different flavor from the other, and that’s what I love. I’ve done a Western Caribbean itinerary, as well as an Eastern one. I think I’m in love with the Eastern Caribbean. I could do this once a year, at least. The beaches are absolutely ideal.
Yeah the beach was very convenient and nice, but I'm sure there are even better beaches too. We definitely enjoyed this charming port. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
St Croix is really a beautiful historic island.
I still love the vibe of St Thomas and St John with its beaches and historic town will always hold a place in my heart. Great video.
Thank you very much! 😊 We quite enjoyed our time at St Croix too!
Thanks for the tour. We'll be there in a few months. Good to have a look before we get there.
Our pleasure! 🙂 Thanks for the comment and have a great time in St Croix!
Thanks for the video and tour💜
Our pleasure- thanks for the comment! 🥰
The pier is actually named The Anne E Abramson Pier
Cunard vs Celebrity, which is better overall and which has the better food?
They're actually pretty similar in vibe and food quality. Very good service as well for both. If you're cruising on a newer Celebrity ship, the buffet and main dining can go toe-to-toe with Cunard's food. So it could come down to pricing and itinerary.
@@TravelTouristVideos What if I'm caught in between Celebrity Edge and Queen Anne? Also, the downside with Cunard is the dressing up requirement. Thanks!
Yeah you'll have to dress up on Cunard, though it wasn't super strict. We saw guests just wearing a sweater during the non-gala nights in the main dining. If you're on the Edge it should have the similar good food overall we had on the Apex. In your case I'd probably lean towards the Queen Anne since it will be a brand new ship and they'll likely want to make a good impression.
This is about nothing !!!!!!!!
