What do you think, it's going to be exactly like every other Caribbean island. It's going to cost an arm and a leg for everything from taking a piss to parking your car, and apparently to access to beach as well. It's going to be crowded, 6000 people getting off the cruise ships everyday, and the foods going to be expensive because it's an island with no economy besides tourism.

I will answer, since I used to live on St Thomas. If you’re not taking a car to St. John, you should just get on a group transport option. It’s an open air truck basically and wouldn’t charge very much. They frequently leave from Cruz Bay near where you arrive by ferry. Trunk Bay Beach is actually a National Park, hence the admission charge. It’s always where I chose to go when visiting from St. Thomas and well worth it. There’s an underwater snorkel trail. There are convenient changing rooms, which you won’t usually find on other beaches on the two islands. It’s well maintained. Enjoy! I just reread your comment. You will need to get to Red Hook before you ferry over to St. John. That can be done via rental car or taxi. There is probably a ferry from Charlotte Amalie these days. I haven’t lived there in quite a while.
Great video but you are pronouncing things wrong. We say Coki (cookie) beach. Jost (yost) Van Dyke. Magens (may gens) not Megan or how you were pronouncing . On Water Island the beach is called Honeymoon beach. Dinghy’s beach bar is located on Honeymoon beach.
I was just on Jost Van Dyke a few weeks ago and caught a taxi over to Foxy's Taboo... I asked the driver, who lived there all his life how to pronounce Jost Van Dyke, and he pronounced the J is Jost. So, tomato, tomato... I've also heard locals pronounce Coki like he did. Coke EE.
IDK how any locals still live there. It's like $500,000 for a 1/4 acre piece of land on the mountainside. Where do the locals live? I know some people probably inherited property from relatives, but what do the younger generations do for housing?
If you are going to show it , show all the drug dealers on Coki beach and the roosters fighting and the ran down streets and how the locals don’t like the tourists bc it makes everything on the island more expensive.

The US virgin islands are US territory so you would apply for a regular US Tourist Visa.

Only 2 beaches charge fees, and those have bathroom and shower facilities. There are plenty of free beaches, and locals are charged less.
