    I'm building my first wing, an AR Pro, and I'm totally blown away by your wing and the engineering that you built into it, the 3D printing is amazing in quadcopters we really only use 3D printing for antenna mounting or camera mounting maybe skid pads for the motors, otherwise the options get boring I didn't think of so many things that you could do with 3D printing on a wing!

    Great video! Love how polished that wing looks. Building a Skywalker X8 2122mm. I have not found where the DJI O3 HD air unit stores the logs at...I may just need to figure out how to pull in the blackbox data from FC for dashware, since iNav 6.1.1 still doesn't support native DJI HD O3 like BF4.4 does. :(

    • @bluefish3607
      @bluefish3607  Год назад

      Hi Jeff, There is no usable data available from the O3 air unit that is usable in Dashware as far as I am aware. When I used Dashware I took the data from the inav blackbox.
      I used this tutorial to guide me through the process: ruclips.net/video/LAEaRnkQ9kE/видео.html
      You can use the inav BFCOMPAT mode in inav 6.1.1 to get an OSD with O3, its not amazing as it does not support all of the fonts but I have been using it very successfully and you dont need to mess around with Dashware.
      See an example in one of my latest videos, goto 3:22 to see some O3 / Goggles 2 DVR OSD footage. ruclips.net/video/s8QKYru6Rak/видео.html

    Would you recommend this for first time wing pilots? I fly fpv freestyle drones and want something new to just cruise with

    • @bluefish3607
      @bluefish3607  2 года назад +1

      Hi, the general advice is that if you switch from FPV drones to planes you should start with a relatively slow stable plane with rudder, something like a Bixler. This is so you can learn line of sight flying and get familiar with the feeling of a plane before you step up to a faster flying wing.
      That said I did not do that, I built a Sonicmodell AR Wing 900 installed iNav and Autolaunched it. It ended in disaster as the VTX blacked out and the plane circled under full throttle losing altitude until it crashed into the trees.
      So it depends what kind of person you are, if you are like me a risk taker and happy to be responsible for the consequences of not learning to fly line of sight, then an AR 900 or AR Pro are both good platforms to start with. They both launch easily with iNav Autolaunch and fly really well. The AR Pro did not exist when I started but based upon what I know now I would have chosen that over an AR900.
      I am not sure if that helps or not, but whatever you do it will be an exciting adrenalin rush and I wish you all the best with your Wing adventures :-)

      They are both very capable wings, the only thing to bear in mind is that the XL has a rather more vulnerable fuselage in a crash.
