I remember learning all the solos on victims of the future when it came out. It took me months and months to transcribe and practice the material.....still can play it to this day.....
I'm absolutely enthralled that there exists so many Gary Moore lovers out there. Here in America, so few have ever heard of him. I had his Colosseum II records, G-Force, Skid Row, and all his albums including Japanese live and studio albums. The only thing I never got was Thin Lizzy-Black 🌹 Rose. I don't know why but when I discovered that he had died I felt like I lost a close relative !!! I will always love and miss Gary Moore 🎸
Only Gary Moore could take a 1955 Les Paul Junior (ex-Steve Jones, Sex Pistols) and play a whole show with that simple bridge and have such great tune and intonation, plus this was in Gary's big Marshall heyday with 4 100 watt Marshall heads!
You sure about that ? I bought that LP Junior for Gary in Ringwood Hampshire Oasis Guitar shop.It actually originally belonged Dave Dee,Dozy,Beaky,Mick and Tich member Tich.Gary was then a member of Greg Lake's Band
Setlist: 1) Rockin' Every Night 2) Shapes of Things (The Yardbirds cover) 3) Hold on to Love 4) Victims of the Future 5) Empty Rooms 6) White Knuckles (G-Force song) 7) End of the World 8) Back on the Streets
You are so very welcome! It is Victoria Calandra, and I got this from someone who played with Gary Moore. (Not this version) Bob Daisley, who is a close friend.
What a bold song to Start a concert with. Man, what a guitar player. Great singer and song writer. Devout musicians musician. Very very few were that dedicated to consistent craftsmanship. Very odd to me that, People either loved him or can't stand him. I've encountered too many people that just didn't like his work at all. Musician distain I get, it's alot of work to cop & many are too lazy so it's convenient to just poo poo. But the listener fans, affect me. Fans know straight away what they like or don't. He was just too fast loud and not pretty enough for many. I'm 62, a high energy bassist. Gary's bands, work always inspires me. And when my chops slip a bit. I always turn to his work as a barometer of whether I've still got the skills of my youth. RIP brother.
One of thee true Guitar greats and having seen Gary at this show and about fifty others he never failed to impress me. Guitar God and true pro. Thankyou for your dedication to your instrument and the joy it gave Gary. May You RIP.
Thank you so much, sicilianqueenV! I learned of Gary's death only after joining Facebook several months ago, long after his passing. He lives on in his music and concert videos! Great performance!!
Thanks for the upload, and for the written intro as well. I was listening, not watching, took a break from painting to read the video description, and saw that Ian Paice is the drummer for this. That's never a bad thing, though it means I'll have to stay up later than planned just to hear some Deep Purple, which is also never a bad thing. (Great profile pic, btw. )
Thanks , many thanks for this, i always wanted to see these concert since those days when i was 14 yo. now i´m 42 and still loving this. WE WANT MOORE! Forever.
Quite good, I enjoyed that. Surprised I hadn't seen it before. Maybe BBC Scotland decided it's viewers would rather see the Scottish snooker/darts/ tiddlywinks/or whatever championship instead.
The greatest guitarist to ever walk planet Earth.

The greatest rock guitarist of all time. Is that a Gibson LP Jnr he's playing? He could make any guitar sound great, true test of a great guitarist.
Yes its a LP Junior, he played it back in the thin lizzy Days aswell
