Dangerous high speed PURSUIT in construction zone - Hyundai Elantra flees from Arkansas State Police

- Trooper's Report:
On 4/26/24 around 9:15 am, the Saline County Sheriff's Office advised they were in pursuit of a white passenger vehicle with
an out of state license plate on I-30 WB near the 123 MM. Saline County advised they canceled the pursuit because they lost
sight of the vehicle. Saline County advised the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph and passing other vehicles on the left
shoulder.
Around 9:17 am, I observed the described vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit around the 116 MM WB. The vehicle
began weaving in and out of traffic and passing traffic on the right shoulder at a high rate of speed. I activated my emergency
lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle began traveling between 90 and
100 mph in a 60 mph construction zone while weaving through traffic.
Around the 113 MM, the vehicle entered into the construction area site between the westbound and eastbound lanes. This
area is closed to traffic and the construction company was actively working in this area. The vehicle continued traveling
between 60 mph and 80 mph. The vehicle narrowly missed several pieces of construction equipment and construction
employees while traveling through this area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle finally stopped around the 111 MM in the
construction site area.
The driver was taken into custody without issue. S1 was then transported to the Saline County Jail
where he was charged with:
Fleeing (C/F), Aggravated Assault (X2), Reckless Driving, Careless / Prohibited Driving, Failure to
Present Proof of Insurance, Improper Lane Change, Improper Passing on the Right, Speeding, and Fictitious Tags. The Saline
County Sheriff's Office also had numerous charges on S1 including Fleeing (C/F) and Reckless Driving. - Авто/Мото

As a construction worker you would be surprised how many speed through our job sites and how many near misses happen because of it but this guy in a high speed pursuit was absolutely reckless and could easily killed someone. Lock this one up for a few years please.

I mean, really, I can see the instinct to flee, but once they did the one zag on the right shoulder and it didn't really help, the traffic was far too heavy and they should have just pulled over then. Ahh well.
I was impressed on how many people movies out of the way. Also that Elantra N was pretty quick.
Well they do seem like a car that would appeal to trouble makers. These are sold as the i30 in Australia and while I don't think people have been caught doing anything bad, there was one night where I was standing on a round about taking photos for something and I noticed a couple of ns and n lines and a couple of other tuned up cars probably heading to a spot to do something that they shouldn't be doing. 18 months??? Give this idiot 30 years jail......what are you talking about man?
Last summer two cars crashed in a construction zone on 695 beltway. Each traveling at 122mph. Six road workers were killed. The drivers received a slap on the wrist and got 18 months prison. Two of the workers were father and son.

He EASILY could have killed someone in those construction areas. We had some do just that last year in baltimore MD. That kid should lose his ability to legally drive for 10 years...
Revoke his license for life AND 10 yrs in the lock up at a minimum!
10 years with no license alone aint that bad. 1/9 of a typical lifetime. I think that's not enough consequence to make people think before they act. I think it has to be 10 years no license with 5 years of community service. Make people work on road construction crews with no pay fixing pot holes that cost cities billions each year. After many years it will be known of the hard labor involved and less people will race and run from the cops.

The EN is really capable, pretty quick stock. He's likely tuned as well judging by the sticker on the rear
