Second, one girl is trying to cope for the emotional damage of her past relationship, treating him like her ex and being clingy. The other one is really just scared of ghosts.
I just got back to this post having such a different impression of both the girls and I wouldn't want Aerith to even touch him or flirt with him at times, doesn't matter how cute she acts...it's still not genuine

I just had a thought. What if Aerith knows Tifa likes Cloud and this is her way of helping her out?
I had a similar thought, where Aerith isn't actually interested in Cloud in a romantic sense, but she "ships" Cloud & Tifa, so she's pulling stunts like this in the hope that it encourages Tifa to be more aggressive and proactive in pursuing a relationship with Cloud.

Funnily enough, this scene actually reminds me of something that happened to me in High School. I would go to School dances and just watch for the most part and chat with other people who might have been taking a break, but at the time I was afraid of making a fool of myself if I tried to actually dance. But one time I was just standing by the wall and 3 of my friends (all girls) came up to me and then quite literally grabbed me by the arms and dragged me out on to the dance floor! I still remember mouthing the word "Help!" to someone as we passed, but he just grinned and gave me a thumbs up. XD
Turns out that they did me a favor though, since I was much more at ease and comfortable about dancing after that....even if I happened to have two left feet as far as dancing went. :P

...this is not Tifa being jealous, this is Tifa being afraid. The whole point of their relationship in Remake is that Aerith and Tifa are not rivals for Cloud's affection. They're friends who care for and respect each other.
I think people forgot that Tifa found cloud meandering about like a crazed homeless person at the train station just hours before the start of the game
She’s definitely jealous, in Chapter 10 if you choose to check on Tifa first she asks what Cloud’s relationship is with Aerith and seems worried about what he’ll say

From what I remember from my last FF7 playthrough, Aerith's personality didn't really shine through in the original as good as it did in the remake.

This version of FF7 is like Aerith is well aware of the events of the future. They show hints of the future. My theory is Aerith's Soul when back in time to prevent the ending of the original game where you see Red XIII with his family running showing the player what happened to Midgar 500 years later.
That Meteor ended Midgar and the people but Holy did save the Planet.

I'm on the fence about that. I was not a fan of AC. As much as I like Sephiroth as a villain, he's not my favorite and it felt wrong to bring him back when the movie was just fanservice and milking the cash cow. I get some people loved it and thought it was great but I really think FFVII should not have had a compilation. Crisis Core inserted some gary stu with Genesis, Dirge of Cerberus sucked and made me hate Lucrecia EVEN MORE and confirms Genesis survived. I haven't played Before Crisis and never looked into it, so I have no idea hiw good or bad it is.

I really hope the Remake Part II is filled with CloTi smut, not just the Golden Saucer or Highwind. The sewers, when Tifa asks Cloud about how he knows Aerith, and if "that's all there is to it" makes it quite clear. I wish there was a kiss between them in Aerith's Garden, just a chaste one would suffice. Zerith and CloTi is canon. Let's not argue over that, right?

The weird thing is, despite how beautiful and quirky they made Aerith, I always saw her as a younger sister sort of character in relation to Cloud, even in the original game. I always shipped Tifa and Cloud and even more so with this remake. I think I was painfully relieved to find out about Zach xD
Even though Aerith is slightly older than Cloud. But Cloud is tall, muscular and swings a giant sword around with ease so I guess it evens out.

Honestly the more I've seen of them, both this Remake and the original, the more I feel Cloud and Aerith are just way better for each other. They have better chemistry, seem to influence each other in more positive manner and the relationship just appears all around healthier, than with Cloud and Tifa.

@@wyveriusblackfire3834 Yup I was already sold on Aerith because of her sweet and caring personality, and also because she complements Cloud really well, sort of brings him down to earth and keeps him centered on what's important. But when she brought out that steel chair, I was like dayyumm this is my kinda girl LOL It's no wonder he was never able to forget about her in all the incarnations of FF7, he truly loved and still loves her.
