i have no idea what it could be like to not know this happens. i was like seven when i saw this for the first time. this is the biggest death in the history of video games, in the biggest game in the history of rpgs - you could argue the history of video games - on the biggest console in video game history, in the biggest medium in entertainment history. this is like if darth vader killed leia in front of luke and froto and aragorn watched it happen. it's just that big in entertainment history.

I never finished this game, only knew very little because of my borther, I knew Aerith would die, never knew how and just know i got to that part, had to take a break before fightning the boss right after this. I am glad this was remade because I am truly enjoying this experience, wished i had experienced it with the original.

Most people grew up fighting Sephiroth on even ground as Cloud. I grew up fighting him as a CHILD playing a CHILD. We are not the same.

They used the music perfectly. It hit all my nostaliga buttons from when I was 11 playing the OG in 97. My only disappointment is why they didn't make that banger of a Wall Market theme into a new banger but just replaced it... one of the best tracks in the OG.

I remember being surprised at her swearing!😂 I just think Aerith is so sweet and innocent that it took me for a loop. I was like, “GASP!!! She said a bad word!!”.

If someone was to ask me if I was ever going to play FF7 OG, I would say probably no and it is because of this. I have a rather complicated, emotional journey with the subject of Death. My earliest recollection was when I was in elementary school and my dad randomly dumped on me the burden of picking up his hobbies when he's too old to continue. The next time, I don't know when it happened, but I became paranoid on the idea of dying. Probably in connection with that burden. I was still pretty young at the time. Then, in 2014, my mom died from cancer. Sometime between 2014 and 2017, we decide to adopt a dog. A year later, an accident happened that took her life. So, for me, I would only play Rebirth because, whether or not she survives the end of Part 3, at least we're given some solace with the idea that we, the player, have a chance at saving Aerith.

That moment with each of them wrapped around Cloud's shoulder. The ego boost it must've given him...but our boy's game didn't falter. Dealt with it like a champ.
