Advent Children did a lot to mess with his personality since he's in a depressed funk there and Final Fantasy media tends to draw from it due to being the "Newest" FF7 content for a long while. They also brought him back to his FF7 personality in Dissidia NT and he gets to hang out with Bartz and have a good time for once.

Yo. Its hecking yes, queen. Though it will seem a bit odd without experiencing the original because it is not a one to one remake. In fact if anything it's a sequel, long story short someone or something (no spoilers) may be trying rock them off their set timeline for their own reasons and increasingly drastic interruptions by the timeline trying to correct itself make a crazy, more enriching and satisfying experience. But like also you get way the hell more out of characters who barely had lines before so that alone is worth it for old players If you dont get bothered by the Dementors though it's a blast of a game all on it's own
Actually, if you finish all the side quests in chapter 3, I believe it was, she’ll ask you what she should wear sometime. Depending on what you choose is what she’ll wear in chapter 9.

Cloud was always a bit funny in the OG though. It just wasn't executed well because the translation was awkward. It wasn't until Kingdom Hearts and the Compilation that suddenly Cloud became this super serious edgy emo guy who never made jokes (Except for one scene in KH2 where they let him quip with Squall. That was nice. Shame that was... the only good line KH ever gave Cloud).

Cloud is a sort of mercenary, his friend was being held captive, so he dressed up as a woman in order to be "selected" by a crime boss to be his "company" for the night. In the original version, the don picked from Cloud, Tifa, or Aerith. For Cloud, how well he 'passed' was based on the items you found. (Some people complain that not being able to 'fail' at passing is worse writing, but the original way it was handled *was* transphobic, homophobic, **and** made light of sexual assault to get one item. As in, Cloud is implied to have been sexually assaulted to get one of the items to 'pass'.) Cloud is known, in the Final Fantasy fandom, to be very androgynous- so most people have pointed out that Cloud being able to dress up very well, and well enough to be chosen over two objectively attractive women isn't that unbelievable. Other people obviously think it is funny, in that they think Tifa and Aerith should feel bad for losing out. Basically, the devs not only rewrote the scene and quest in a way that avoided (most? I admittedly haven't watched a full version) of the transphobia and homophobia, and side steps the sexual assault thing. They then additionally confirmed the opinion that, yes, Cloud does in fact rock that dress, even if he may not be very comfortable in it. (And, Tifa at least, seems more confused and *interested* than at all upset about Cloud having looked more attractive. )

I'm glad they kept the quest in but changed the way to get things. Iirc, the way to get the best item in the Honeybee Inn wasn't through the door to the homophobic/sexual assault door, it was a separate room where you encounter a ghostly shadow of Cloud's subconscious mind. I don't remember what was said during that scene, but at the end, he passes out. When he wakes up, he has the best item for that part of his outfit. I was young when FF7 came out, so any of the transphobic/homophobic connotations went over my head. Puts a different spin on one of my favorite parts of the game. Huh.

Because the expression "nailed it" could also be used in other scenarios.
Such as a gymnastic athlete being told they nailed the landing.

Cloud is a sort of mercenary, his friend was being held captive, so he dressed up as a woman in order to be "selected" by a crime boss to be his "company" for the night. In the original version, the don picked from Cloud, Tifa, or Aerith. For Cloud, how well he 'passed' was based on the items you found. (Some people complain that not being able to 'fail' at passing is worse writing, but the original way it was handled *was* transphobic, homophobic, **and** made light of sexual assault to get one item. As in, Cloud is implied to have been sexually assaulted to get one of the items to 'pass'.)
Cloud is known, in the Final Fantasy fandom, to be very androgynous- so most people have pointed out that Cloud being able to dress up very well, and well enough to be chosen over two objectively attractive women isn't that unbelievable. Other people obviously think it is funny, in that they think Tifa and Aerith should feel bad for losing out.
Basically, the devs not only rewrote the scene and quest in a way that avoided (most? I admittedly haven't watched a full version) of the transphobia and homophobia, and side steps the sexual assault thing. They then additionally confirmed the opinion that, yes, Cloud does in fact rock that dress, even if he may not be very comfortable in it. (And, Tifa at least, seems more confused and *interested* than at all upset about Cloud having looked more attractive. )

I'm glad they kept the quest in but changed the way to get things. Iirc, the way to get the best item in the Honeybee Inn wasn't through the door to the homophobic/sexual assault door, it was a separate room where you encounter a ghostly shadow of Cloud's subconscious mind. I don't remember what was said during that scene, but at the end, he passes out. When he wakes up, he has the best item for that part of his outfit. I was young when FF7 came out, so any of the transphobic/homophobic connotations went over my head. Puts a different spin on one of my favorite parts of the game. Huh.

Well there was orginally rumours going around they were going to remove this chunk of the game.
So maybe it's a reference to that.
I've never played FF, and from everything I've seen since I first heard of it like 9 years ago, it honestly looks so chaotic lmao.
