A song at Buddy Holly's grave - 'Crying, Waiting, Hoping' - Acoustic Guitar Cover

- Back in November last year I travelled to the United States to visit various locations associated with my musical hero, Buddy Holly. I visited Buddy's grave in Lubbock Texas and played one of his songs. It was a lovely, peaceful morning ...disturbed by some bald bloke with an acoustic guitar!
'Crying, Waiting, Hoping' is one of the last songs he wrote and recorded on his acoustic guitar in his New York Apartment -- just a few weeks before he left on his final tour.
As you can perhaps see in the video, people have left small tributes of coins and guitar picks on the grave stone. Unfortunately, it looks like some arseholes have been chipping away bits of stone as souvenirs!
Thank you for honoring Buddy! I was born in January 1958, and I could sing Peggy Sue and Oh Boy! Before I heard the Beatles on Sullivan! I’m a Lifelong full time musician…
Pure respect!!! Great gesture!!! Forever Buddy!!!
Thanks very much!
I was born in Lubbock in 1949. Air Force brat. Moved back the year Buddy was killed 1959. Didn't think alott about it! I knew the Harrods of the shop where he bought his guitar! My cousins flight instructor flew Buddy's body back to Lubbock! I didn't know he was this big!
Beautiful tribute to Buddy, when I eventually go to Texas I shall visit the grave and play “Peggy Sue”
Thanks very much Max! That's a good plan. 👍

Thanks very much Todd!
Enhorabuena
Thanks very much Francisco!
Nice. I hope you didn't forget to say a prayer.
Thanks Christopher! Oh yes. 👍
@@RocknRollSongbook I'd love to do something like that. The weather looks good even in November, and I expect it might be more affordable. Great stuff!
Great job
Thanks very much!
I can see Buddy Holly running around all the souls there saying come here? Check this out. Without you buddy, what would The Beatles be?

RIP🙏💔😭
I'm not sure of your name, but good on you - I hope Buddy heard it too. A brilliant rendition - great singing and the guitar playing is superb - did you get that sound out of just one acoustic? Best regards from Blighty :)
Thanks very much Ted! Glad you like it. Yes, just one acoustic guitar. All the best from Yorkshire - Jez
Very nice Jez! I set up a different channel and haven't come across your most recent videos until now. Cheers, Howard (from Shropshire).
Thanks very much Howard!
@@RocknRollSongbook Hi Jez, my wife and I are visiting York for a couple of days (Saturday & Sunday). Are you gigging anywhere? Failing that, what venues can you recommend?
@@1man1guitarletsgo Hi Howard. I pop in to York every now and then, but I don't live that near - about an hour away in Ilkley. If you fancy a drive, I'll show around. Ilkley is a lovely little town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The only venues I'm familiar with in York are the bigger ones like the Barbican and the Theatre Royal. I've not been gigging recently. I love York - great if you like a bit of history.
@@RocknRollSongbook Thanks Jez, I didn't see your comment and have just got back. We stayed within York this time. Saw several buskers and a few pub/wine bar entertainers, of varying quality. The best was a young ex-Geordie called Tom James, who's only recently moved to York.
Budddy Holy is always in our heart ❤ ❤
Could I know what guitar you use and where did you find it please?
I'm playing a Gibson L00 Studio. I bought it from guitarguitar.co uk a few years ago (I live in England).
Very Nice!
On your songbooks, does the 100 songbook include all the same songs as the 50 songbook?
Do they lay flat or will I have to get them spiral bound?
I am in US and will buy from Amazon.
Thanks very much Jack! The Hot Rockin' Hundred does contain the songs in Fifty from the 50s, but in a greater variety of keys. The songs in the earlier songbook were all arranged in the keys of A and E, so they could all be played with just A, D, E and B7. You'll be using quite a few more chords in the newer songbook.
Hey Buddy@! Love ,love your jam! ❤Buddy will you Please do me a favor (you don't know me from Adam) please tell my Brother (Billy Wayne Bunch Jr. 1:53 ! Keep on Rocking 😅😅Ì will see you soon Brother ! I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH! PS BUDDY he's right there with you
Hi Judy. Thanks very much! Keep on rockin’ Billy Wayne!! 👍🎶🎵🎹🎸 Judy will see you soon! - Jez
